recently i lost my url link and its one of those things when you don't look at the url address that often , when i use to do a search on google i kept on getting the Arabic version of islam board

20 minutes ago whilst i was finishing off an essay , like most of u in uk , we all felt an earthquake !!!! this was the first time for a long time i got scared......the whole house was shaking , wardrobe doors shaking , pictures on wall fell , then within 2 minutes i got hundreds of texts all call from people......


I Thought it would be nice if everyone in uk shared their experience of the earthquake

Seems they enjoy drawing anyway, seems they have a large number of artists.


Well, what concerns me is what I experience with each of those incidents, I call it incidents because to me they mean nothing more. On the personal level, each time something of the like happens, it makes me grow more confident how this man is reall great, how happy I m to be blessed on being one of his Ummah, tiny I might be, not really effective I also may be, but at least I say La Ilaha Ila Allah Mohamdan Rasul Allah truth ever and ever again. It makes me feel how really he is the best of mankind, how great and merciful he was, how patient he was, it helps me re run his life and ponder upon each and every situation, specially those like when he was in Taif and he was really in a dire need for major support, even then, when Allah Responded to his supplication and Commanded the angle of mountains to see if he wants the two mountains to be clapped down on those people who hurt him much. What did he say? he said no lest one of them would become a Muslim/


I invoke upon Allah that those same group who are organising this anti campaign to see the light and embrace Islam and become part of the Ummah of Mohamed prayer and peace be upon him.

Sobhan Allah, lately i have turned into a totally cyber media consumer. I mean I depend on the Internet to fulfill my news, professiona, Islamic related needs. Suddenly, day before yesterday, Egypt went blank, the marine fiber cable was broken, i m sure you all heard, read about it. I found myself having to resort to TV news, or even print newspapers, and even compelled to go to work for an emergency off schedule requirment just to pick the material because I couldnt access my email. Sobhan Allah for this blessing really that saves much time and effort and may Allah Maintain it and increase mankind's knowledge.

Submissions for the brothers' polygyny anthology as well as the co-wife anthology are no longer being accepted. <i>Polygynous Expressions</i> has merged the brothers' anthology with the co-wife anthology and we are diligently working to compile a beneficial piece of literature. The first draft has been completed and mashaaAllaah is 177 pages of scholarly proofs, beneficial reminders and wise naseehah. The book has been forwarded to a number of students of knowledge for review, may Allaah reward them abundantly for assisting us in this endeavor. <i><b>Ta'addud Az-Zawjaat: Candid Reflections on Polygyny from the Muslim Ummah</b></i> will be the second publication to be released by Aneesa Azeez, also known as MizAzeez, following the publication of her memoir entitled, <i><b>Polygynous Blessings: Musings of a Muslim Wife</b></i>.


Included within this new publication are: commentary by reputable Muslim scholars, past and present, on <i>Qur’aanic</i> verses and Prophetic narrations related to marriage in general and polygyny in particular; scholarly advice and legal rulings on issues related to polygyny; testimonials from Muslim men and women on the benefits and trials of plural marriage, including advice on correctly and successfully implementing polygyny; narrations from the wives of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding their dealings within polygyny; and reminders from the <i>Qur’aan</i> and <i>Sunnah</i> regarding emotions that undoubtedly arise within a polygynous marriage, such as jealousy, envy, and anger, as well as remedies to such behavior, such as patience and complete trust in and reliance upon Allaah.

<i><b>Ta'addud Az-Zawjaat</b></i> will be the first book to be released as part of an anthology series launched by <i>Polygynous Expressions</i>, a venture which seeks to publish literature highlighting positive examples of plural marriage within the Muslim community, alongside providing advice and scholarly proof on polygyny from the <i>Qu'raan</i>, <i>Sunnah</i>, and pious Muslim predecessors.

<i>Polygynous Expressions</i> was started in order to respond to the growing desire within the Muslim community for positive literature on polygyny written from a more personal standpoint, however, framed within the shade of the <i>Qur’aan</i> and <i>Sunnah</i>. While there is some written material on the topic of polygyny in Islaam from a more personal standpoint, most of this literature is from the voice of Muslim women, some directly involved in polygyny, some not. In addition, the resounding voice of existing literature on polygyny in Islaam from a personal standpoint seems to be a voice of opposition and Allaah, glorified and high is He above all imperfections, knows best.


Indeed, from the important aspects of a Muslim’s life is marriage and from the aspects of marriage ordained by Allaah and practiced by the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is polygyny. Allaah states in the <i>Qur’aan</i>, the meaning of which is, “Marry other women of your choice, two, or three or four.” And it has been reported in <i>Saheeh Al-Bukhaari</i> from Ibn ‘Abbaas, may Allaah be pleased with him, “Marry, for the best person from this (Muslim) nation (i.e. Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him) had the largest number of wives.”


Many amongst the Muslim ranks are beginning to realize the growing need and practice of polygyny and so, instead of trying to avoid this part of the religion of Islaam or relegate it to the status of some type of abnormality or exception, more Muslims are seeking to better understand how to establish and maintain successful polygynous marriages. It is the sincere intention and hope of the compilers of <i><b>Ta’addud Az-Zawjaat: Candid Reflections on Polygyny from the Muslim Ummah</b></i>, that this book will aid the Muslims in better understanding and submitting to the legislation of Allaah, and that it will assist in strengthening the familial and marital bonds present throughout the Muslim community. And indeed, with Allaah lies all success.

It's not really so much 'Islamic' news as it is humanitarian news. You dont have to be muslim to care about human suffering and to try and do something about it, at least to speak up about it. Its really a tragedy for us to be silent:


(WASHINGTON, D.C., 01/21/08) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called on American Muslims and other people of conscience to urge their elected officials to immediately intervene to put an end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.


The crisis was triggered by an Israeli-imposed blockade Sunday evening, which forced the closure of the only electric plant that serves Gaza City's 400,000 residents and one third of the Gaza Strip's 1.5 millions residents. The blockade prevents the entry of fuel that is essential to the operation of the plant.


Gaza Dark Amid Israeli Blockade


Gaza is already suffering from economic hardship, which according to the World Bank, is primarily a result of being cut off from the rest of the world by Israel. Without power, hospitals, water facilities and other crucial lifelines may completely shut off and homes may be left without heat, plunging Gaza into disarray.


On Monday, the U.N. said it would suspend food distribution to 860,000 Palestinians unless Israel eased the blockade imposed on Friday in response to rocket fire from Gaza. The World Food Program, which distributes food to another 270,000 Gaza residents warned that it too would have to suspend operations by Thursday due to lack of fuel.


A European Union (EU) official termed Israel’s blockade “collective punishment,” a practice banned by international law. "I have made clear that I am against this collective punishment of the people of Gaza," said EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner. (Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “No protected person may be punished for an offence he or she has not personally committed.”)


U.N. Agency Says May Have to Halt Gaza Food Handout


In a statement CAIR said:


“Because American taxpayers provide Israel with billions of dollars of economic support each year, we have the right and the responsibility to demand that Israel abide by American and universal human rights standards and end its practice of collective punishment against the Palestinian populations. Such practice amounts to war crimes.


“Silence from American officials will only serve to increase the sentiment worldwide that our nation cares little for the suffering of the Palestinian people.


"The perception that the U.S. abets cruel and inhumane treatment of civilian populations provides fodder for anti-Americanism that may threaten the security of the United States.”


According to the Human Rights Watch World Report 2007, "Israel [retains] effective day-to-day control over most key aspects of life in Gaza, including ingress and egress and thus the economy."


Seventy-nine percent of Gaza households live under the poverty line, 40 percent suffer from unemployment and almost half the population in the Gaza Strip is made up of children.


CAIR, America's largest Islamic civil liberties group, has 33 offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
