Are You A Christian? Yes Or No?
Posted by: mahashim - 10-15-2004, 09:12 PM - Forum: Discussion of Beliefs - Replies (2)

Are you a Christian? Yes or no?

Do you truly believe? Yes or no?

Have you been baptized? Yes or no?

Mark 16:16-18 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; (a) In my name shall they cast out devils; ([Image: cool.gif] they shall speak with new tongues; ©They shall take up serpents; and (d) if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; (e) they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

Once again. Have you (a)been baptized and (b)do you believe?

a) If NOT then you WILL NOT BE SAVED BUT DAMNED. [Image: cool.gif] If a Christian has been baptized and believes then they should exhibit the "signs" mentioned above, such as being able to drink any deadly poison (such as battery acid, etc.) and not be harmed. How about the other signs? Can all believing and baptized Christians lay their hand on any randomly selected terminally ill cancer patient or paraplegic and have him rise completely cured? Does this not require that the Christian world be completely free of all illness, doctors, and hospitals? According to this verse, should not all believing, baptized, Christians be able to do this if they truly believe are to be saved? If a Christian does not exhibit these signs, then does this not prove that they do not believe, and thus will not be saved but damned?

Ramadhan : The Month Of Oppurtunity
Posted by: hefny - 10-13-2004, 11:13 AM - Forum: Ramadan - Replies (3)

"O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before so that you may attain taqwa."{Surah Baqarah:183}

RAMADHAN : The Month of Oppurtunity

O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (Fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain taqwa (piety) [Al-Baqarah: 183]

When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained.[bukhari Volume 3, Book 31, Number 123]

"Fasting is a shield and a powerful fortress."

[Ahmad, Baihaqi]

“All the good deeds of the son of Adam multiply his reward from ten to seven hundred times. Allah said: ‘Except for fasting, for it is for Me and I reward for it.’”

Jabir (RA) related that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "In every day and every night, during the month of Ramadan, there are people to whom Allah grants freedom from the Fire, and there is for every Muslim a supplication which he can make and it will be granted". [Ahmad]

The Unrestricted Reward

There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. [bukhari: Volume 3, Book 31, Number 120]

Every servant of Allah who observes fast for a day in the way of Allah, Allah would remove because of this day, his face farther from the Fire (of Hell) to the extent of seventy years' distance. [Muslim: Vol 6, Number 2570]

Allah, the Majestic and the Exalted, said: Every act of the son of Adam is for him except fasting. It is done for my sake, and I will give a reward for it. By Allah in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad [sAW], the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk. [Muslim: Vol 6, Number 2564]

Dua which is not rejected

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "There are three people whose supplications are not rejected. The fasting person when he breaks the fast, the just ruler and the supplication of the oppressed". [at-Tirmidhi]

Beneficial actions during this month

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: Allah's Apostle was the most generous of all the people, and he used to reach the peak in generosity in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel met him. Gabriel used to meet him every night of Ramadan to teach him the Qur'an. Allah's Apostle was the most generous person, even more generous than the strong uncontrollable wind (in readiness and haste to do charitable deeds) [bukhari, Volume 1, Book 1, Number 5]

The Messenger of Allah(SAW) said, ‘Fasting and reciting Qur'an intercede for the slave on the Day of Resurrection. The fast will say: O Allah, I prevented him from eating and satiating his lawful lust, so let me intercede on his behalf; and the Qur'an will say: I prevented him from sleeping during the night, so let me intercede for him.’ (Ahmad & Tabaraani)

Abu Umaamah(RA) reports that (SAW) said: “Recite the Quran for indeed it will come on the Day of Judgment as an intercessor for its Ashaab (those who read, memorise and implement it)

The people will remain on the right path as long as they hasten the breaking of the fast [bukhari: Volume 3, Book 31, Number 178]

Open your fast with dates, if it is not possible with dates then with water, dates is blessed and water purifies [Tirmidhi (Kitab ul Zakat) and Abu Dawood (Kitab ul Saum)]

The difference between our fasting and that of the people of the Book is eating shortly before dawn and the meal is blessed [Muslim: Book 006, No 2412-2413]

There should be a time span of at least fifty verses between our Suhur and observing of salat [Muslim: Book 006, Number 2415]

To feed a person fasting to open his fast is righteous, the reward for it is the same as the person fasting while no reward is deducted from the person fasting [Tirmidhi (Kitab ul Saum)]

The Sahabah asked: “Oh messenger of Allah none of us finds means wherewith to give food to a fasting man!”

He (SAW) replied: “Allah will bestow this reward on one who gives food to a fasting man even if it is a sip of milk or a date or a sip of water. And whosoever gives satisfaction to a man, Allah will give him a drink from my fountain that will not make him thirsty till he will enter Paradise. And it is a month of which the beginning is mercy, the middle is forgiveness and the end is freedom from the fire. And whosoever makes light the (burden of) his covenanted slaves therein, Allah will forgive him, and He will make him free from the fire.” [Mishkat ul Masabih]

Reprehensible acts during this month

Whoever does not give up telling lies and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink (i.e. Allah will not accept his fasting.) [bukhari: Volume 3, Book 31, Number 127]

If one of you is fasting, he should avoid quarrelling, and if somebody should fight or quarrel with him, he should say, 'I am fasting’ [bukhari: Volume 3, Book 31, Number 128]

A person who breaks the fast in Ramadan should free a slave or observe fasts for two (consecutive) months or feed sixty poor persons [Muslim: Book 006, Number 2461]

Time for repentance

O you who believe! Turn to Allâh with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) the Day that Allâh will not disgrace the Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and those who believe with him, their Light will run forward before them and with (their Records Books of deeds) in their right hands they will say: "Our Lord! Keep perfect our Light for us [and do not put it off till we cross over the Sirât (a slippery bridge over the Hell) safely] and grant us forgiveness. Verily, You are Able to do all things" [Al-Tahrim: 8]

Hudhaifah Ibn al-Yaman reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "The evils caused for a man through his family, wealth and neighbour are expiated by prayer, fasting and charity." [bukhari and Muslim]

DUA

Abdullah Ibn Amr Ibn al-Aas also reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Indeed there is for the fasting person, when he breaks his fast, a supplication which is not rejected". [ibn Majah]

The Virtues And Miracles Of Quran
Posted by: jaffacake2000 - 10-13-2004, 07:10 AM - Forum: Islam - No Replies

I find many articles with things about certain verses such as:

<b>Surah al-Falaq (The Dawn)</b>

It has 5 ayaat. It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) that whoever recites this surah in the month of Ramadhan in any of his prayers, it is as if he has fasted in Makkah and he will get the reward for performing Hajj and 'Umra.

<b>Surah at-Tawheed (The Unity)</b>

whoever recites this surah once will get the reward equal to ten times the number of people who have believed in the Islamic teachings.

When a person recites this surah 100 times, all his sins for the past 25 years are forgiven (except the sins of killing an innocent person or usurping the property of people). The one who recites it 1000 times will not die unless he sees his place in Jannah.

The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) once advised a poor person to always say 'salaam' when entering his house, even if there was nobody there, and then recite surah at-Tawheed. After a little while, the man became abundantly wealthy.

<b>Surah an-Nasr (The Assistance)</b>

whoever recites this surah in compulsory prayers On the Day of Judgement he will be given a book in which it will be written that he is free from hellfire.

<b>Surah al-Falaq (The Dawn)</b>

whoever recites this surah in the month of Ramadhan in any of his prayers, it is as if he has fasted in Makkah and he will get the reward for performing Hajj and 'Umra.

I would like to know what is written above truly happens as its written or is the writers trying to state somthing different or explain some fact, analogy or equivalent?

Posted by: jaffacake2000 - 10-13-2004, 06:41 AM - Forum: Ramadan - Replies (1)

Salaam,

I know in ramadan it is a month for focus on worshiping and thanking our Creator, having all our sin wiped away, asking for forgiviness etc and devoting this month to mainly forgiviness, am i right?

But is it also permissable to ask of my needs and wants to improve my life? such as to improve my general state of life or remove me out of poverty etc?

  A Call From The Harem,
Posted by: NaSra - 10-13-2004, 05:58 AM - Forum: Woman and family - Replies (2)

Asalamalaykum, Its a little bit long but inshaAllah you'll find it well wroth the read.

<b>The Wasiyyah of Ash-Sheikh Abdur-Rahman as-Sudais</b>

My Muslim Sister, you will never be able to reach the perfection that

you desire, you won't be able to regain your lost glory of the past,

or achieve your highest rank and position unless you follow the

teachings of Islam and unless you stop at the limits and boundaries

of the Sharee'ah. This will make your heart love and appreciate the

good qualities and will keep you away from bad and evil qualities.

So stay at your homes. By Allah you will be praised; you will please

your household and make your home happy; you will perfect your

Hijaab; you will perfect your chastity, revive others and you will

make yourself happy and comfortable.

<b>Allah says</b>
<b>"O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their</b>

bodies. That will be better, that they should be known (as free

respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft-

Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Surah al-Ahzaab 33:59).

So with Islam you are a " protected jewel", but without it you are a

doll in the hands of the wrong-doers; a mere object of amusement and

a merchandise of trade in the hands of human wolves who will destroy

your chastity, your honour and your dignity, and then throw you and

disregard you as one does with a date fruit and its seed.

So whenever the woman abandons the teachings of Islam and neglects

the proper Islamic dress and takes easy the matter of Hijaab,

exposing herself to men (by) walking among them and wearing perfume,

her dignity and honour vanishes and her brightness disappears, and

her modesty dwindles, and she becomes a source of fitnah (temptation

and trial) for others and the "evils" embrace her. Therefore, O

Muslim woman, who cherishes and holds onto the honour of Islam (and

is proud of the honour of Islam), and O free, honourable, chaste and

protected woman, you are the best successor of the best past

generation of Muslims. Hold fast to the book of Allah and to the

Sunnah (way and teachings) of His Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa

sallam.

Beware of the hands of the wicked plotters and the jealous eyes, and

people with bad character and evil souls, who want to lower you from

the highness of your esteemed position and dignity, and lower you

from your glory of higher rank, and take you out from the circle of

your happiness. And beware of the deception and defeat before the

open war between Hijaab and sufoor (revealing beauty), and between

chastity and liberalism.

The enemies of Islam among the Jews and their followers are upset and

sleepless over the fact that the Muslim woman is honourable,

dignified and protected, so they put her under the spotlight, trap

her in (fisherman-like) nets and shoot her with their arrows.

Moreover, it is strange that some people from our skin and who speak

our language follow them and spread their ideas and fulfil their

aims, and wage in intellectual and cultural war against our Muslim

sisters, who are the moisture of our faces, through the alluring and

deceiving slogans and the charming articles here and there. Thus,

they falsely and deceivingly call to the freedom of the woman and ask

(and push) her to work, to coming out of her home. They spread

rumours about Muslim women saying "... the conservative Muslim

society (the real one indeed, The Muslim society can only be

conservative) is that which half of it does nothing and breathes only

from one lung..., and how can the Muslim woman stay prisoner at home

between four walls...", and other misleading slogans.

They want freedom for the woman, but in reality they want to free her

from her character and etiquette, and to strip her from her

principles, dignity and honour, and lead her into evil and

corruption. They want her to be a fashion model and an item for sale

to the naive and simple-minded (assuthajj wal busataa').

Who is then left to the well-being of homes; to the happiness of the

family; to raise and educate children?

How many young women get trapped and how much tragedy happens when

the Hijaab is destroyed and the jilbaab (outer garment) is taken off

and the 'wolves" (wicked men) devour the woman. Such is as a result

of sufoor (revealing beauty) and mingling with men in jobs, schools,

and market places.

Isn't it enough zajr (reminder) what the societies, who did not

practice the teachings of Islam, fell into in terms of indecency,

evils, and disappearance of values when they neglected and ignored

the matter of the woman? As a result of that, there are now repeated

calls in these societies asking for the return of the woman to her

protected fort; her home.

Would any man with the slightest bit of ghairah (honour) and rujoolah

(manhood) be content to see his wife become a "pasturage" of the eyes

of the wicked men, and to become a "serving on the dining table". The

current condition of some societies is a witness that when the woman

goes out of her home, it is a sign of destruction, loss, corruption,

and spread of indecency and mischief in society.

Therefore, to all our Muslim Sisters in the east and in the west of

the Muslim world, I call upon you from this holy and pure land

(Makkah) to hold fast to the Qur'an and to bite onto the Sunnah of

His Messenger sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, with the front teeth,

and to follow the teachings of Islam and its adaab (etiquette).

And to the women organizations all over the world, beware of the

stupidity and bad results of the disobedience of the woman to the

guidance of Islam. Beware of being tempted by the flashing slogans

and poisoned publicity against the character of the woman and her

principles.

And to the people responsible for the Muslim child in her education

and care, I call upon you to fear Allah and to fulfil your duty

towards her while taking care of her belief, educational and ethical

aspects.

A clear limit and divider (boundary) must be set against indecency,

wicked movies and naked pictures that destroy honour and virtue and

that develop dayaathah (absence of honour and manhood to the point

where a man does not care about the females of his family in terms of

what other men may do with them) and indecency.

As to the guardians of women, fathers and husbands, I remind them of

their duty of qawaamah (protection and maintenance) of women

according to what Allah said:

"Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means. Therefore, the righteous women are

devoutly obedient (to Allah and to their husbands), and guard in the

husband's absence what Allah orders them to guard. As to those women

on whose part you see ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (next),

refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is

useful), but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means

(of annoyance). Surely, Allah is Ever Most High, Most Great." (Surah

an-Nisa 4:34).

So they have to fear Allah, and save themselves and their children

from the punishment of Allah by raising and educating them according

to the teachings of Islam, and they should be warned from being loose

and neglectful in this matter. I call on their ghairah (honour)

towards their women and their rujoolah (manhood) in order to preserve

the honour and to protect their mahram women, in addition to

protecting their values, principles and characters.

So, O wise people, take a lesson, and be aware and don't be deceived

for the successful is one who is reminded through (the mistakes of)

others, and know that the Ummah reached this sad state and crisis

only after it was it hit in its system of life and when it neglected

the appropriate education and upbringing of its women. And remember

that the trustworthy and trusted (the Prophet) sallallaahu 'alayhi wa

sallam, said: "I haven't left behind me a fitnah more harmful to men

than women (when they go astray from the guidance of the Islam)."

(Bukhaaree and Muslim).
