The Prophet’s Name



The Hebraic Versions of Torah still carry the name of Muhammad without ambiguity. In the song of songs, chapter 5,Verse 16,we read:


Which means: “ His speech is the most pleasant. He is the Great Muhammad, this is my beloved, and this my friend.” The Hebraic word clearly indicates the name of Muhammad but Jews and Christians refuse to admit that and insist that it is not a proper name but an epithet describing the Prophet, claiming that it means “altogether lovely”.


“His mouth is most sweet; yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved and this is my friend.”


Then, who can be described as having all virtuous characteristics but Muhammad, the great Prophet, Allah’s beloved and favored Messenger?


In the New Testament, the Prophet’s name occurs in several positions. In the Book of John 16:7, we read Jesus’ words while addressing his Disciples:


“Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the comforter (“periclytos” in Greek) will not come unto you.”


The word “comforter” is translated from the Greek word “paracletos” which had been used to replace the original word “periclytos” meaning “Muhammad” or “Ahmad” in Arabic. The two Greek utterances have little difference in pronunciation as well as in spelling; therefore, the scribes could have easily used one word for the other in some versions. Jews and Christians have preferred the corrupted version to the true one.


There is a Gospel known by the name the Gospel of Barnabas, which the church banned in 492 AD by the order of Pope Gelasius. It was confiscated everywhere. But there was still a copy of that Gospel in the library of Pope Sixtus V. Fortunately a certain Roman Monk called Framarino managed to bring it out. He had found the letters of Ireneus, where the came upon the name of the Gospel of Barnabas mentioned as a reference. His curiosity urged him to look for that gospel. When he became a close friend to Pope Sixtus V, he got that copy of the gospel and found in it that there would come a time when it would be claimed that Jesus is Allah’s son, and this misconception would continue till Muhammad, Allah’s Messenger comes, to set things right.


In the Gospel of Barnabas, (220:4), we read: “And this mocking shall continue until the advent of Muhammad the Messenger of God, who, when he shall come, shall reveal this deception to those who believe in God’s Law.”


Framarino was converted to Islam and published among people this Gospel, which the church had opposed.


The name of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) has clearly been mentioned in the scriptures of Jews and Christians throughout history. Muslim scholars used to use this fact in their disputes with the priests and learned Jews.


In the Book of Isaiah, we read: “I make your name Muhammad. O Muhammad, the holy one of the Lord! Your name has been there always.” This quotation is taken from “Al-Din wa Al-Dawala” written by ‘Ali ibn Raban Al-Tabari (who had been Christian and then embraced Islam). He died in 247 AH.


We read, in the Book of the Isaiah also: “We heard, from the extremes of earth, the voice Of Muhammad.”


In the Book of Habakkuk, we read : “God came from Tayman, the Holy one from the Mount of Paran. Mohammed’s splendor has covered the heavens, and the earth is filled with his praise.” That is also mentioned in “Al-Din wa Al-Dawlah” of Ali ibn Raban al Tabari. It is also mentioned by Ibrahim Khalil Ahmad, previously a Christian priest who embraced Islam later and included the above Verse in a book he wrote in 1409 AH.


In Isaiah also we read : “What I will give him will not be given to anyone else. Ahmad will praise Allah newly. He comes from the best land; the wilderness and its inhabitants will rejoice. They will celebrate the Oneness of Allah at every elevated place and glorify Him on every hill.”


This is mentioned by Abdullah Al-Turjuman, whose name had been Anslam Tormida. He had been a Spanish priest before he was converted to Islam. He died in 832 AH.


Jubayr ibn Mut’im said: “ I heard Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) saying: ‘I have various names: I am Muhammad, and I am Ahmad, and I am Al-Mahi with whom Allah obliterates disbelief, and I am Al-Hashir at whose feet people will be gathered, and I am Al-‘Aqib.’’’ Allah (SWT) says: (And Remember, the son of Mary, said: ‘ O children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allah (sent to you) confirming the Torah (which came) before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me whose name shall be Ahmad.’ When he came to them with clear signs, they said, ‘ This is evident sorcery.’)(61:6)


Professor Abdul-Ahad Dawud Al-Ashuri, the former archbishop of Mosul, who was converted to Islam, says (in his book “Muhammad in the Bible”): “The statement popular among Christians: “Glory be to Allah in the heavens and peace be on earth and happiness be among people” was originally: “Glory be to Allah in the heavens, Islam be on earth, and Muhammad is for people.”


The name of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) occurred in the Hindu Scriptures. In the Sama Veda, we read: “Ahmad acquired Shari’ah (religion law) from his Lord. This Shari’ah is full of wisdom. I receive light from him just as from the sun.”


In Athrava Veda (another Hindu Scripture), Kanda 20, Sukia 127, Mantra 1-3, we read: “O people! Listen to this carefully! Muhammad will be raised among people…. His greatness will be praised even in paradise and it will be subjected to him, and he is the Muhammad.”


In Bhawishya Purana (another Hindu scripture ) parv 3, Khand 3, Adhya 3 , Shalok 5-8, we read: “Just then an illiterate man with the epithet Teacher, Muhammad by name, comes only with his companions. The angel will purify him with the five things.”


The five things of purification are obviously the five daily prayers that cleanse a Muslim of his sins.

Islam was spread by the sword ?







Many Westerners and Christians Ministry claim or do believe that Islam is so widespread in the world today simply because of a "holy campaign of terror" carried out by the early Muslims to convert non-Muslims to Islam. Non-Muslims were offered the freedom to choose either Islam or death.


-Allah Almighty says in Quran Say: the truth from your Lord and let him who will believe and let him who will reject" (18:29)


-"We sent down the Qur'an in Truth and in Truth has it descended" (17:105)


-"Put your trust in Allah for you are on the path of the manifest Truth" (27:79)


1.Islam means peace.


Islam comes from the root word "salaam " which means peace. It also means submitting one's will to Allah (swt). Thus Islam is a religion of peace, which is acquired by submitting one's will to the will of the Supreme Creator, Allah (swt).


2-Did Muslims really force others to convert to Islam? Is there any evidence for consistent forcible conversion throughout Islamic history? As a matter of fact, there is no such evidence anywhere in the history of Islam.


Many distinguised Western historians have attested this fact-- foremost among whom is Sir Thomas W. Arnold in his book, "The Preaching of Islam". Also there is Marshall G. Hodgson in his book, "The Venture of Islam", Albert Hourani in his book, "A History of the Arab People", Ira Lapidus in his book, "History of Islamic Societies", L.S. Starorianos in his book, "A Global Hisotry, the Human Heritage" and many others. In fact, there is substantial evidence to the contrary.


3- Sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace.


Each and every human being in this world is not in favour of maintaining peace and harmony. There are many, who would disrupt it for their own vested interests.


Sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace. It is precisely for this reason that we have the police who use force against criminals and anti-social elements to maintain peace in the country. Islam promotes peace. At the same time, Islam exhorts it followers to fight where there is oppression. The fight against oppression may, at times, require the use of force.


In Islam force can only be used to promote peace and justice.


4-Opinion of historian De Lacy O Leary.


The best reply to the misconception that Islam was spread by the sword is given by the noted historian De Lacy O Leary in the book "Islam at the cross road" (Page 8):


"History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated."


5-Islam continues to be the fastest growing religion on earth.


Professor Huston Smith of the MIT in his book, "The Religions of Man" says:


"In some areas where Islam and Christianity are competing for converts, Islam is gaining at a rate of 10 to 1."


-Ambassador Herman Ellis, in a testimony in front of the committee on Foreign Affirs of the House of Represntatives of the United States Congress on June 24th, 1985, said: "The Muslim community of the globe today is in the neighbourhood of one billion. That is an impressive figure. But what to me is equally impressive is that Islam today is the fastest growing monotheistic religion. This is something we have to take into account. Something is right about Islam. It is attracting a good many people.


6-Muslims ruled Spain for 800 years.


Muslims ruled Spain for about 800 years. The Muslims in Spain never used the sword to force the people to convert.


Later the Christian Crusaders came to Spain and wiped out the Muslims. There was not a single Muslim in Spain who could openly give the adhan, that is the call for prayers.


7-14 million Arabs are Coptic Christians.


Muslims were the lords of Arabia for 1400 years. For a few years the British ruled, and for a few years the French ruled. Overall, the Muslims ruled Arabia for 1400 years. Yet today, there are 14 million Arabs who are Coptic Christians i.e. Christians since generations.


If the Muslims had used the sword there would not have been a single Arab who would have remained a Christian.


8-More than 80% non-Muslims in India.


The Muslims ruled India for about a thousand years. If they wanted, they had the power of converting each and every non-Muslim of India to Islam. Today more than 80% of the population of India are non-Muslims. All these non-Muslim Indians are bearing witness today that Islam was not spread by the sword.


9-Indonesia and Malaysia.


Indonesia is a country that has the maximum number of Muslims in the world. The majority of people in Malaysia are Muslims. May one ask, "Which Muslim army went to Indonesia and Malaysia?"


10-East Coast of Africa.


Similarly, Islam has spread rapidly on the East Coast of Africa. One may again ask, if Islam was spread by the sword, "Which Muslim army went to the East Coast of Africa?"


11-Thomas Carlyle.


The famous historian, Thomas Carlyle, in his book "Heroes and Hero worship", refers to this misconception about the spread of Islam: "The sword indeed, but where will you get your sword? Every new opinion, at its starting is precisely in a minority of one. In one man's head alone. There it dwells as yet. One man alone of the whole world believes it, there is one man against all men.


That he takes a sword and try to propagate with that, will do little for him. You must get your sword! On the whole, a thing will propagate itself as it can."


12-No compulsion in religion.


With which sword was Islam spread? Even if Muslims had it they could not use it to spread Islam because the Qur'an says in the following verse:


"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from error"


[Al-Qur'an 2:256]


13-Sword of the Intellect.


It is the sword of intellect. The sword that conquers the hearts and minds of people. The Qur'an says in Surah Nahl, chapter 16 verse 125:


"Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious." [Al-Qur'an 16:125]


14-Increase in the world religions from 1934 to 1984.


An article in Reader"s Digest "Almanac", year book 1986, gave the statistics of the increase of percentage of the major religions of the world in half a century from 1934 to 1984. This article also appeared in "The Plain Truth" magazine. At the top was Islam, which increased by 235%, and Christianity had increased only by 47%. May one ask, which war took place in this century which converted millions of people to Islam?


15-Islam is the fastest growing religion in America and Europe.


Today the fastest growing religion in America is Islam. The fastest growing religion in Europe in Islam. Which sword is forcing people in the West to accept Islam in such large numbers?


16-Dr. Joseph Adam Pearson.


Dr. Joseph Adam Pearson rightly says, "People who worry that nuclear weaponry will one day fall in the hands of the Arabs, fail to realize that the Islamic bomb has been dropped already, it fell the day MUHAMMED (pbuh) was born

2:256 : There is no compulsion in religion, for the right way is clearly from the wrong way. Whoever therefore rejects the forces of evil and believes in God, he has taken hold of a support most unfailing, which shall never give way, for God is All Hearing and Knowing.


25:68 "Those who invoke not, with God, any other god, nor slay such life as God has made sacred except for just cause, nor commit fornication; - and any that does this (not only) meets punishment."


16:82 : But if they turn away from you, (O Prophet remember that) your only duty is a clear delivery of the Message (entrusted to you).


6:107: Yet if God had so willed, they would not have ascribed Divinity to aught besides him; hence, We have not made you their keeper, nor are you (of your own choice) a guardian over them.


2:182 :But if anyone fears partiality or wrong-doing on the part of the testator, and makes peace between (The parties concerned), there is no wrong in him: For God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful."


2:224: "And make not God's (name) an excuse in your oaths against doing good, or acting rightly, or making peace between persons; for God is One Who heareth and knoweth all things."


4:79, 80: (Say to everyone of them,) 'Whatever good betides you is from God and whatever evil betides you is from your own self and that We have (O Prophet) sent you to mankind only as a messenger and all sufficing is God as witness. Whoso obeys the Messenger, he indeed obeys God. And for those who turn away, We have not sent you as a keeper."


11:28: (Noah to his people) He (Noah) said "O my people! think over it! If 1 act upon a clear direction from my Lord who has bestowed on me from Himself the Merciful talent of seeing the right way, a way which you cannot see for yourself, does it follow that we can force you to take the right path when you definitely decline to take it?


17:53, 54: And tell my servants that they should speak in a most kindly manner (unto those who do not share their beliefs). Verily, Satan is always ready to stir up discord between men; for verily; Satan is mans foe .... Hence, We have not sent you (Unto men O Prophet) with power to determine their Faith.


21:107 to 109 : (O Prophet?) 'We have not sent you except to be a mercy to all mankind:" Declare, "Verily, what is revealed to me is this, your God is the only One God, so is it not up to you to bow down to Him?' But if they turn away then say, "I have delivered the Truth in a manner clear to one and all, and I know not whether the promised hour (of Judgment) is near or far."


22:67 : To every people have We appointed ceremonial rites (of prayer) which they observe; therefore, let them not wrangle over this matter with you, but bid them to turn to your Lord (since that is the main objective of religion). You indeed are rightly guided. But if they still dispute you in this matter, (then say,) `God best knows (the value of) what you do."


88:21, 22; also see 24:54 And so, (O Prophet!) exhort them your task is only to exhort; you cannot compel them to believe.


48:28 : He it is Who has sent forth His Messenger with the (task of spreading) Guidance and the Religion of Truth, to the end that tie make it prevail over every (false) religion, and none can bear witness to the Truth as God does.


36:16, 17: (Three Messengers to their people)Said (the Messengers), "Our Sustainer knows that we have indeed been sent unto you, but we are not bound to more than clearly deliver the Message entrusted to us.'


39:41: Assuredly, We have sent down the Book to you in right form for the good of man. Whoso guided himself by it does so to his own advantage, and whoso turns away from it does so at his own loss. You certainly are not their keeper.


42:6, 48: And whoso takes for patrons others besides God, over them does God keep a watch. Mark, you are not a keeper over them. But if they turn aside from you (do not get disheartened), for We have not sent you to be a keeper over them; your task is but to preach ....


64:12 : Obey God then and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away (no blame shall attach to our Messenger), for the duty of Our Messenger is just to deliver the message.


67:25, 26 : And they ask, "When shall the promise be fulfilled if you speak the Truth?" Say, "The knowledge of it is verily with God alone, and verily I am but a plain warner."


60:8 : Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just.


60:9 : Allah only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith, and drive you out of your homes, and support (others) in driving you out, from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these circumstances), that do wrong.


The teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) about you-non muslim-


1- "He who believes in God and the Last Day should honour his guest, should not harm his neighbour, should speak good or keep quiet." (Bukhari, Muslim)


2- "Whoever hurts a Non-Muslim citizen of a Muslim state hurts me, and he who hurts me annoys God." (Bukhari)


3- "He who hurts a Non-Muslim citizen of a Muslim state, I am his adversary, and I shall be his adversary on the Day of a Judgement." (Bukhari)


4-"Beware on the Day of Judgement; I shall mysefl be complainant against him who wrongs a Non-Muslim citizen of a Muslim state or lays on him a responsibility greater than he can bear or deprives him of anything that belongs to him." (Al-Mawardi)


5- "Anyone who kills a Non-Muslim who had become our ally will not smell the fragrance of Paradise." (Bukhari)


Please treat individuals as individuals, don't make a general judgement about Islam from Ben Laden's deeds..Here are some crimes that Christians did..


1- Jewish have claimed that Hitler killed or caused to die through starvation , malnutrision ,and neglect , 6 Million Jews .


2- But what about American's Crime :


-Vietnam : America's war in Vietnam lasted from 1964 to 1973


Let us remember the War killed approximately two million people from 1964 to 1969 ,also if you should know US planes dropped seven million tons of bombs on Vietnam, or one 500lb bomb for every man, woman and child in the country - twice the total that was dropped on both Europe and Asia during the whole of the Second World War.


-Japan : America's use of the atom bomb on the innocent civilians of Hiroshima and Nagasaki—a crime of horrifying magnitude against humanity itself


-Kosovo : about 500 Civilians Killed' in Air War on Serbia


-German: America is proud that it saved the world form as cruel a dictator as


Hitler. But what about the millions of civilians who died from


hunger and disease as a result of US-instigated mass starvation of


Germans during 1945-1950


-U.S. bombing raids on Panama City ignited a conflagration in a civilian neighborhood, fed by stove gas tanks. Over 2,000 Panamanians were killed in the invasion to capture one leader.


-Iraq : The U.S. IS accountable for over 1.5 million deaths of Iraqi civilians during the past 12 years due to sanctions and over 15.000 Iraqi were killed By U.S. Not for humanitarian reasons. not to protect the American people nor freedom and democracy.


-Afghanistan: Over 5,000 Afghans (many of them children) were killed by the U.S


3-14 million native North and South Americans were killed by Europeans in democide in the conquest of the Americas. Much of this, especially in the Caribbean and South America, was driven by European Roman Catholicism.


4-The Crusades butchered 1 million innocent civilian men, women and children ,But Islam when taken the city "Jerusalem " Islam reveals tolerance toward the followers of other religions. It released the patriarchs, priests and their servants from the obligations of taxes. It prohibited, in special, the killing of priests for their performance of worship, and Omar Ibn Al-Khattab did not inflict harm on the Christians when he entered Jerusalem as a conqueror. The Crusaders, however, did slay Moslems and burn the Jews when they entered the city."


5- Zionists killed more than 100,000 Palestinians and committed genocide by destroying the existence of Palestinians as a nation and made Palestinian refugees living in exile and Killing still continue .


6- More than 6 million persons, comprising around three-quarters of the Palestinian people, and nearly one-third of the global refugee population, remain without a durable solution to their plight. More than half of all Palestinian refugees lack basic day-to-day protection, such as physical security, freedom of movement, and access to employment.


7- Serbian Massacres against Muslims in Kosovo were founded in mass thousands and thousands of Muslims have been slaughtered and raped by the so-called Christian Serbs while the U.S. imposed a "no-fly zone" which prevented other countries for assisting the Muslims , Prevented the Muslims to be armed , Prevented any action against the Christian Serbs
