Vinegar: A food Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) used to eat with olive oil.

Milk: The Prophet(SAW) said that milk wipes away heat from the heart just as the finger wipes away sweat from the brow. It strengthens the back, increases the brain, augments intelligence, renews vision and drives away forgetfulness.

Honey: Considered to be the best remedy for diarrhea when mixed in hot water. It is the food of foods, drink of drinks and drug of drugs. It is used for creating appetite, strengthening the stomach, eliminating phlegm, as a meat preservative, hair conditioner, eye salve and mouthwash. It is extremely beneficial in the morning in warm water and is also a Sunnah.

Olive oil: excellent treatment for skin and hair, delays old age, treats inflammation of the stomach.

Mushroom: The Prophet(SAW) said that mushroom is a good cure for the eyes, it also serves as a form of birth control and arrests paralysis.

Grapes: The Prophet was very fond of grapes, it purifies the blood, provides vigour and health, strengthens the kidneys and clears the bowels.

Dates: The Prophet(SAW) said that a house without dates has no food, also to be eaten at the time of childbirth.

Figs: It is a fruit from paradise and a cure for piles.

Barley: Good for fever in a soup form

Melon: Melon contains 1000 blessings and 1000 mercies, The prophet SAW said "None of your women who are pregnant and eat of water melon will fail to produce off spring who are good in countenance and good in character.

Pomegranate: The Prophet(SAW) said it cleanse you of Satan and evil aspirations for 40 days.

Water: the Prophet(SAW) said the best drink in this world and the next is Water, when you are thirsty drink it by sips and not gulps, gulping produces sickness of the liver.

So praise be to our beloved Nabi(SAW) who related us with marvelous knowledge which dazzles the wisest minds. May this information be beneficial to all of us Insha Allâh.

CALIPH UMAR (RA) AND PUBLIC MONEY

One day Umme Kulthum (RA), wife of the Caliph, presented some bottles of perfume to the Roman Empress. The Empress sent back the bottle filled with precious stones as a counter present. The Caliph on being informed of this present said to his wife, "You will kindly hand over the present to the Public Treasury, as the messenger who carried the bottles was paid by the State.

WHO IS A GREATER SLAVE THAN THE CALIPH?

It is reported that one day Caliph Umar (RA) was informed that a camel belonging to the Public Treasury had gone missing. On hearing this, the Caliph himself set out personally to search for the camel. In the course of his search he came upon Ahnaf Bin Qais an eminent fellow citizen and said to him, "A camel belonging to the Public Treasury has gone missing. You are certainly most aware that many poor people have a share in it. Let us both go and search for the camel."

Ahnaf was shocked to see the Caliph going about personally attending to this task, and he replied, "Amirul Mumminin! Why do you not order a slave to search it out?" The Caliph replied, "But who is a greater slave than myself?"

ASSURANCE OF LIFE

Once the daughters of the Caliph, Umar (RA) asked their father to purchase new clothes for Eid. The Caliph summoned the treasurer and asked for one month of his salary in advance. The treasured replied, "Oh dear Ameerul Momineen, I would love to give you your salary in advance. But what assurance do you have that you will live for another month?"

The Caliph said, "Indeed you are correct."

"Invite all to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching;

And consult with them in ways that are best and most gracious."

(Al Qur'an, 16:125)

In an authentic narration narrated by Abdullah ibn `Umar, in Ibn Majah's Kitab al Fitan, which is also mentioned in Al-Hakim's al-Mustadrak, as well as by al-Baihaqi and al- Bazzar, we learn about several causes of most fascinating consequences. The following can be deduced from that narration:

- Rain is withheld when zakat is not paid, and it would not fall at all were it not for animals.

- Illnesses not seen before appear when immorality spreads among people and when it becomes public.

- Lack of provision and injustice of rulers towards their people occurs when those people cheat in measuring.

- Allah sends an enemy to a people that takes from their hands that which they like, when those people leave their covenant with Allah and His Messenger and leave the Book and the Sunnah. - Discord among people occurs when leaders do not judge by Allah's Book and when they choose from it what they like and leave the rest.

One can wonder, how many secular scientists and those usually perceived as intellectuals are there that fail to understand Allah's Sunan yet spend their lives trying to understand causes of many happenings in the universe? More importantly, how many of us fail to understand true reasons behind various disasters in our own Muslim countries? … Thankfully, we can correct this by learning. What follows is a mention of two major causes of provision, many of which are mentioned in the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Among other causes of provision and development are Jihad in the Path of Allah, Hijrah for the sake of Allah, Hajj and `Umrah, leaving sins, da`wah to Allah, seeking forgiveness and repentance, good behavior towards the weak and spending for the sake of Allah. Causes of Provision (Rizq) Tawakkul

- Relying and depending on Allah the Exalted Allah the Exalted said: And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent. [at-Talaaq: 3] "If you relied on Allah with a true reliance, He would provide for you the same as He provides birds: they set off in the early morning with empty stomachs and return back at the end of the day with full stomachs." [At-Tirmidhi, Ahmad]

Sh. Fadl Ilaahi said: "The one who relies upon Allah with a true reliance is provided for as birds are provided for, and how would it be otherwise, when he has relied upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and whoever relies on Him, He will suffice him." [Mafaatih ar-Rizq, 36]

Tawakkul in the Qur'an: Tawakkul is enjoined in the Qur'an in many places and is a lofty station: "And upon Allah let the believers rely." [ibrahim: 11] "And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die." [Al Furqaan: 58] "So worship Him and rely on Him." [Hood:123] Tawakkul is a cause of Allah's love for His servant: "Verily, Allah loves those who rely on Him." [Aal `Imraan: 159] Tawakkul is a condition of iman and a distinguishing mark of the believers: "And upon Allah rely if you are believers." [al- Maa`idah:23]

"The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely." [al-Anfaal:2] The believer knows that no harm and no benefit can come except by Allah's permission, that He gives and withholds and that He owns everything in the universe. She or he knows that no one can give what Allah withholds, and that no one can withhold what Allah gives. Lastly, relying on Allah does not mean that one leaves striving in this world. Allah says: "So walk among its slopes and eat of His provision" [Al- Mulk: 15] "And when the prayer has concluded, disperse within the land and seek the bounty of Allah." [al-Jumu`ah: 10] Taqwaa "And whoever fears Allah - He will make a way out for him. And will provide for him from where he does not expect." [At-Talaq: 2-3]

Ibn `Abbas said: "'And will provide for him from where he does not expect': meaning from where he does not hope." [Zaad al Masyr 8:291-292] "And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened [i.e. bestowed] upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning [of blame for their sin]." [al-A`raaf 96]

Ibn `Abbaas said: "Meaning, We would enrich them with what is good, and facilitate it for them from every side." [Tafsir Abi Sa`ood 3/253] "And if only they had upheld [the law of] Torah, the gospel and what has been revealed to them form their Lord [the Qur'an], they would have consumed [provision] from above them and from beneath their feat [i.e. in great abundance]. Among them are a moderate [i.e. acceptable] community, but many of them - evil is that which they do." [Al-Maa'idah: 66]

Ibn Mas`ood said: "At-Taqwaa is that Allah is obeyed and not disobeyed, that He is remembered and not forgotten, and that He is thanked and not shown ungratefulness." [At- Tabaraani in al-Kabeer 90/92] [Most quotes mentioned in “Asbaab ar-Rizq”, collected by Abi al Mundhir Khalil ibn Ibrahim Amin, and published by Daar ibn al Atheer, 1420 H.]

Fortification and Safety From Destruction, Defeat, and the Dissension of Punishment Shaykh Sa`eed ibn `Ali ibn Wahf al-Qahtaani The slaves of Allaah have pillars of salvation and support which save them from destruction and defeat if they are afflicted by them. These pillars are among the greatest solutions for whoever is affected with destruction, or wars and epidemics. They are also a protection from calamities before they happen.

These pillars of salvation are:

1) Repentance and seeking forgiveness from all sins and disobedience, great or small. Repentance is acceptable only with the following conditions:

--a) The abandoning of all sins.

-- Regret for having perpetrated those sins.

--c) Determination not return to those sins. If the sin involves the right of another human, then there is a fourth condition: to exonerate oneself from the injured party. Repentance is of no benefit when the soul reaches the throat (i.e. at the time of death), or after the rising of the sun in the west (the Last Day). There is no doubt that sincere repentance and seeking forgiveness are among the greatest means to attain victory. Allaah says: Allah will not change the condition of a people as long as they do not change their state by themselves. [soorah ar- Ra`d: 11]

Allaah says: v Allaah would not punish them while you (Muhammad) are amongst them, nor will He punish them while they seek (His) forgiveness. [soorah al-Anfaal: 33]

2) Fearing Allaah, the Most High, means that the servant places a shield between himself and what he fears from his Lord, His anger, and punishment. This involves acting in obedience to Allaah, by the guidance of Allaah, in the hope of reward from Allaah; and to leave sins by the guidance of Allaah, fearing the punishment of Allaah.

3) Ordering the good, and forbidding the evil. The Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam, said: "By He in Whose Hands lies my soul, You must order the good and forbid the evil, otherwise it is feared that Allaah will send down upon you punishment from Himself, and then you will supplicate to Him and He will not answer." [Related by at-Tirmidhee and Ahmad. See also Saheeh al-Jaami` (6/99)]

Allaah says: So, when they forgot the remainder that had been given to them, We rescued those who forbade evil. But We seized those who did wrong with a severe torment, because they used to rebel (disobey Allaah). [soorah al-A`raaf: 165]

5) Following the guidance of the Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam in all matters of faith, words and actions.

6) Supplication, and humility to Allaah, the Most High. Our final supplication is that all praise is for Allaah, Lord of the Worlds.

The Earthquakes

Shaykh Saalih al-Hamraani

Translation of a Khutbah (08/27/99)

"Secondly, that I will tell them that their loved ones did not die in vain. The actions we have taken will make the world more secure and the world more peaceful in the long run." - Bush on British soldiers killed, BBC.

I just read that, and three things came up in my mind:

1) Allah's saying:

وَلاَ تَهِنُواْ فِي ابْتِغَاء الْقَوْمِ إِن تَكُونُواْ تَأْلَمُونَ فَإِنَّهُمْ يَأْلَمُونَ كَمَا تَأْلَمونَ وَتَرْجُونَ مِنَ اللّهِ مَا لاَ يَرْجُونَ وَكَانَ اللّهُ عَلِيماً حَكِيماً

104. And don't be weak in the pursuit of the enemy; if you are suffering (hardships) then surely, they (too) are suffering (hardships) as you are suffering, but you have a hope from Allah (for the reward, i.e. Paradise) that for which they hope not, and Allah is Ever All_Knowing, All_Wise.

2) Allah's ('azza wa jall) saying:

وَلاَ تَهِنُوا وَلاَ تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنتُمُ الأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ، إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ الْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُ وَتِلْكَ الأيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَاء وَاللّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ

139. So do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers. 140. If a wound (and killing) has touched you, be sure a similar wound (and killing) has touched the others. And so are the days (good and not so good), We give to men by turns, that Allah may test those who believe, and that He may take martyrs from among you. And Allah likes not the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong_doers).

3) The saying of Abu Bakr to the disbelievers, "And that you bear witness that our killed ones are in the paradise, and your ones in the hellfire".

Subhaan Allah, why do these people do this to themselves...

Assalamu 'alaykum,

Two nights ago, my brothers and sisters, I went to a graveyard...What an experience...Thing is, I've done it before a few times, but it was always in the day light...This time, however, it was in the dark...late in the night...Subhanallah...Seriously bro's, if you want an "Imaan-booster" as they say, go to the graves in the dark...

It was a grave occupied by disbelieving residents...I happened to walk passed it, and thought, I might aswell enter...When you think, that, these people now, are crying and invoking upon their Lord to delay the hour..."Our Lord, delay the hour...Our Lord, delay the hour"...It really does come to you that you were created from dust, and to it, you will return...

And this death, will reach you...wherever you may be...there is no escape from it...

And this life...is a vain enjoyment...as Allah describes it...

And every soul....shall taste death...

As for the believer, then he calls upon Allah to hasten the hour...as he knows what is prepared for Him by Allah, from paradises...and gardens...and rivers...and lakes...and...and...

As for the disbeliever, then he knows what his abode is...and it will be on that day that he calls upon the Allah...to return them to this dunya...so that they can do good in it...

And they know...that they will call upon the guardians of hellfire, .... to call upon their Lord....to relieve even a day...of the punishment...

Subhanallah..."Oftly remember the destroyed of pleasures..."

Go to the grave yards brothers, and remember that that is were you will end up...

We ask Allah to seal our lives with good...

"And what is this life, except a vain enjoyment..."

I'm not very familiar with the Islam faith, that's why I'm here for to learn more about it. Now I have a question I hope I may be able to explain myself properly. The Islam have certain rules that Muslims must follow, what happened when a Muslim doesn't abide by those rules and they 'preach' certain doctrine that is not in harmony with the Quran itself? Is there a punishment or something the person get from teaching what we could call 'false doctrine'?. I mean, in most religions, when somebody do something against that particular religion the person may face excommunication (if they commit a serious crime for instance) How is it in the Islam? What happened when a person preaches or tries to teach to others something that is different from the Islam?.

تَرَاوِيح taraaweeh

It is the plural of the word تَرْوِيحَة tarweehah which means ‘A single rest’, and therefore means ‘lots of single rest’.

Thus, the prayer known as salaat al-taraaweeh is so-called because there is a little break or period of rest after each pair of rak’ahs, and sometimes a longer one after every four rak’ahs.

Another related word is راحة raahah which refers to rest, or ease, and also جلسة الاستراحة jalsat al-istiraahah which is the extremely short period of sitting in prayer between performing the prostration {Sujood} and coming up to the standing position {Qiyaam}.
