Shri dattaswami reveals the secret of creation
Posted by: dattaswami - 09-23-2006, 06:46 AM - Forum: Discussion of Beliefs - No Replies

This world is essentially a homogeneous phase of inert energy, which is space as the finest form of energy. The creation comes from space or finest energy. The space has come from God. This is explained by Veda (Atmana Akasah). The space or the finest energy is called as Mahat, which is infinite. From the space all the world gradually comes out by the will of God. Even the space came out from God by His will only. If you do not recognize God, the energy being inert cannot plan the creation. The link between God and this space (Mahat) is unimaginable and is stated as Avyaktam. Veda mentions this unimaginability (Avyaktam) as the intermediate item between God and Mahat (Mahatah Paramavyaktam…).

You should not fix this Avyaktam to a particular item only. It is simply a word which means unimaginable and can be used in any context to mean any item by anybody. Suppose a student is unable to understand the higher concept. For him such concept is unimaginable. Therefore the word unimaginable (Avyaktam) has a general sense and can be used in any context. This word is also used to the subtle and invisible state of the world in the energy as a micro impression also after the final dissolution of the world. Similarly the word Brahman can be used to any greatest item depending on the context. It can indicate anybody starting from God to the head of a village. Veda says that God is beyond this link (Avyaktat Purushah Parah). Space is imaginable but God is unimaginable.

Therefore the link between unimaginable God and imaginable Mahat also becomes unimaginable. Only the link between two imaginable items is imaginable and can be understood. The unimaginability is experienced and the unimaginable God identified with the perceivable human incarnation is experienced. Therefore the concept of unimaginability is proved by the basic validity of authority through experience and perception. Veda says that you can see God (Pratyagatmanamaikshat). If Lord Krishna or Jesus is not seen and if they do not establish the concept of unimaginability through their actions, the existence of unimaginable God can be ruled out. Since there is only one Krishna or only one Jesus, you cannot say that every living being or human being is that unimaginable God. Such dilution is only the effect of egoistic demonism.

The first form of creation is energy. All the other items are the modifications of that energy only. All the modifications may perish but energy remains eternal due to the will of God. It is like the reel of the film containing the whole picture after the dissolution of the world. No fool will destroy the reel at the end of the show. Therefore the reel is eternal. But its eternality is based on the will of God. If God wishes, even the energy disappears. The reel is not destroyed but can be destroyed.

Such eternal finest form of energy is called as Mahat by Veda and is called as Mahat-Brahma by Gita (Mamayonih Mahat-Brahma). The Shastras say that Mahat itself means Brahman (Mahat Brahma iti proktam). When the will of God is withdrawn, this entire world along with the souls and their corresponding attributes become a static impression on the inert energy and is retained in the state of Avyaktam. In this state both good and bad attributes or feelings are static and inert and therefore become equal. A good deed painted as a picture on a paper is equal to a bad deed painted on a paper. There is no difference between good and bad in this state. This is the equilibrium state of the good (Sattvam) and bad (Rajas and Tamas) qualities before and after the creation. This is the meaning of the equilibrium state of the three qualities as mentioned in the Sankhya philosophy.

If the qualities are associated with awareness, certainly a bad feeling or a bad action cannot be equal to a good feeling or a good action. The equilibrium state certainly means the state of the good and bad qualities as inert impressions in the basic phase of inert energy. Such a state results in the deep sleep. This finest primary energy is called as Mula Maya or Mahat-Brahma or Karya-Brahma or Hiranya-Garbha. Since it is the first greatest item of creation and since it is infinite, it is called as Mahat-Brahma. Since it is the generated product or effect, it is called as Karya-Brahma. Since God is hidden as root cause in this energy, it is called as Hiranya-Garbha. The word Hiranya indicates the most precious God and the word Garbha indicates the unimaginability of God. It is called as Mula Maya because it is the root cause of this universe up to which only one can analyze. God is called as Mula Mulam which means the root of the root. The word Maya means the wonderful capability or potentiality of this energy by the will of God. This energy again stands as the medium for the will of God. The wonderful design of the world created by this energy indicates the wonderful will of God.

No soul can cross this Mula Maya because the soul can be transformed into this basic inert energy at the maximum. It cannot be beyond itself. Only God who is the generator of this energy can be the original creator. The modifications of this energy like matter, awareness, light etc. constitute the second plane called as Maha Maya. A soul can cross this Maha Maya at the maximum. He can create matter from the existing inert energy. He can create awareness (life) from the existing inert energy. He can create light, heat etc. from this inert energy. These are the super natural powers which are responsible for miracles (Ashta siddhis). He cannot create the primary energy and thus cannot be the original creator. He is the creator at the secondary level and therefore can be called as secondary creator. In the third level, the feelings are generated from the awareness. The forms are generated from the matter.

These forms and feelings constitute the third level called as Maya. Any soul has the power to cross this Maya. Anybody can produce any form from the matter. Anybody can produce any feeling from his awareness. When a devotee blessed by God with super powers has created a golden pot, it indicates his level beyond the third and second planes. The gold is produced from the existing energy and this shows that he controlled the Maha Maya. When that pot is produced from that Gold that shows that he controlled Maya. But he cannot create the primary energy from which the gold and pot are produced. At this point you cannot differentiate the human incarnation from a devotee. If the human incarnation has to produce this primary energy, first He must dissolve all the existing primary energy. After such dissolution, the soul disappears.

You cannot exist to see the creation of that primary energy. Even after the creation of primary energy, you are existing as an inert impression in the inert energy and thus cannot understand anything. Only when this primary energy is transformed into awareness, you are able to understand anything. Therefore the transformation of inert energy into awareness cannot be also understood by you in the process of creation. You can only understand this transformation by observing the dissolution of awareness on stopping the supply of inert energy in the form of food. Therefore any devotee can be blessed to cross Maya and Maha Maya at the most but can never cross Mula Maya because in such state the souls disappear along with the entire universe. When Lord Krishna was taking the parched rice form Sudama, Rukmini restricted the Lord while taking the rice for the third time. If Lord takes the rice for the third time also Sudama will cross the Mula Maya and will become the original creator, manager and destroyer of the primary energy.

A soul being the primary energy in its essential form cannot go beyond the very inert energy. Therefore it is impossible for any soul to create, manage and destroy the Mula Maya. Sudama was blessed to cross the two levels of Maya and Maha Maya. When he crossed the first level, he crossed the illusion of forms and qualities while living with them. When he crossed the second level, he attained all the superpowers. The Lord was ready to give up the original creatorship also, but since the soul cannot perform that activity, it was restricted. When the Lord is prepared to become your servant through your practical devotion, what is the necessity of becoming the Lord? When the doctor is becoming your servant to perform the operation, why should you wish to become the doctor? When you can attain the higher fruit than Advaita, what is the necessity of aiming at Advaita, in which state you have to perform the tremendous duties of creation, management and dissolution of the universe? Such duties are impossible to any soul and are also unnecessary headache, when there is a possibility of becoming the master of God through the real, practical devotion. God becomes servant of His servants.

A human being is exactly regenerated by science, today, in the form of a robot. Several microprocessors simultaneously function and identify the object in a single instance like the human brain. The chip of information present in the robot is the subtle body of the human being. According to science, which does not believe in previous birth, the information in the chip is gathered by the brain in course of time as the child grows by observing the world. In a dead body since this chip of information (Subtle Body) escapes as Jiva, it is very difficult to exactly reproduce the same chip and introduce into the dead body. Therefore, it is very difficult to make the dead body alive to behave exactly as the previous person. The Jiva contains the information collected in the previous millions of births. Therefore, the regeneration of the chip is impossible which means to bring back the same dead person is impossible. This point indicates only the difficulty in the process and thus is not related to the concept of God. It is only an impossibility within the limits of Science.

Christianity and Islam which do not believe the previous birth or future rebirth are in agreement with science in this aspect because the escaped chip will never come back to the earth. Science says that the chip disappears along with the life. But there are several practical examples in the world in which souls have remembered the past births and narrated the past events correctly. Thus the rebirth is proved based on the perception. Whatever may be the case, the human being is exactly reproduced in toto by the scientists in the form of a robot, whether the brain-chip has received information from the previous birth or from external world in this birth. All the potentiality of awareness is exhibited in toto by the robot. This has clearly proved that any human being is a created item only and not the creator. This rejects the view of Advaita philosopher who says that every living being is Brahman or God, the creator. However science is good as far as this achievement is considered but some scientists who are atheists say that no human being is God because God does not exist. Science is good and most of the scientists are also good because even the top scientists like Einstein believed in God.

The scientist who is not the perfect scholar in science talks like an atheist. The superman like Krishna or Jesus is a perceived example in this world. Even though the scientist is able to produce robot, who represents any ordinary human being, why is science unable to produce the robot resembling Krishna or Jesus? Jesus gave the eyesight to blind. But the robot cannot do that. The super powers are impossible for a robot. Therefore science is used to reject the philosophy of Advaita scholar but the same science is to be condemned in the case of superman. The logic of science is used to refuse the logical items like human beings to be called as God. But the same science is to be condemned if it says that there is no God or human incarnation (superman). The logic is used to reject the items of creation to be called as God. But the same logic is to be rejected to analyze God, who is beyond logic. The superman is exhibiting the superpowers before our eyes. If science rejects the perception of superman, then the perception of the entire world should also be rejected. Thus science is utilized in one context and is criticized in another context. Ghatotkacha was a demon having both good and bad qualities. He was utilized by the Lord to kill Alambusa who was a demon with all bad qualities only. But Ghatotkacha cannot be excused for his partial bad qualities. Therefore the Lord planned in such a way that Karna kills Ghatotkacha. Karna is having all good qualities except a very few bad qualities. Therefore even Karna cannot be excused and was killed by Arjuna according to the instruction of the Lord. Therefore science is used to analyze any item of the creation. Science is perfectly useful in rejecting the items of creation, which are not God. But the same science is to be rejected when the concept of creator is approached, because the logic fails in God. In fact, science is only a subject which is limited to the analysis of the creation.

It keeps silent about God because it cannot analyze God. Therefore there is nothing wrong with science. Some scientists oppose God and this does not mean that science opposes God. Buddha kept silent about God because God is unimaginable. He preached about the spiritual efforts of the human being because the human beings and their efforts are imaginable entities. The silence of Buddha was misinterpreted by the followers and Buddhists say that Buddha did not accept God. The same situation is true in the case of science also. Therefore there is nothing wrong with science because only some scientists are wrong. If science is absent, we cannot analyze the awareness so clearly and we might have been misled by the followers of Advaita and we might have thought that awareness is God. You must maintain the power of logic always as far as the items of the world including human beings are concerned. You have to leave logic only in the case of God. Science helps you to identify what is not God and this itself is a great advantage.

Otherwise you will be fooled by others since you can easily be trapped by others so that you can easily believe any item of the creation as God. Today there are several spiritual preachers who do not know the fundamentals of science. They believe certain items of the creation as God because their analytical faculty is weak due to lack of scientific knowledge. They are blind and mislead the people, who are also blind due to lack of scientific knowledge. The philosophers are good scholars of logic but the ancient logic contains several wrong conclusions due to absence of experimental verification. For example, the ancient Indian logic says that sound is the characteristic property of space. But sound cannot travel in vacuum. It requires particles to vibrate mechanically for the propagation. Thus mere theoretical logic called as dry logic also goes wrong in several places. Science is never wrong as far as the analysis of the creation is considered. In the case of God it is incapable to touch God. Incapability is not wrong. Science accepts its incapability by not speaking about God like Buddha. In fact this is the correct way of explanation about the unimaginable God. Shankara says that silence is the best explanation for the unimaginable God called as Para Brahman (Maunavyakhya Prakatita Parabrahma Tattvam).

At least science does not pose to give wrong conclusions in the case where it fails because it understands its limits. The Advaita philosopher is just opposite to science. He is also incapable of understanding the unimaginable God like science. But he does not accept his incapability and poses that he has understood God and presents every living being as God. Silence is far better than the misled and misleading Advaita Philosopher. Buddha is far better than the present Advaita philosopher. Buddha kept silent about God and such silence is the correct interpretation in the case of unimaginable God. Veda says that every word fails in the case of God which means that one has to keep silent about the explanation of God. In Veda it is mentioned that a son of a sage came to his home after studying the spiritual knowledge. When his father asked about God, the son kept silent and the sage certified that his son has completed the spiritual knowledge. God is unimaginable only to those people who like to approach God directly. But the devotees experience God through a specified human form. The devotees may not know the real nature of God but they have experienced God.

The Advaita scholar opposes this concept and tries to experience God within himself or within every human being. He does not experience God because he poses that he knows the real nature of God as awareness. The devotees accept the unimaginable nature but experience God. A blind man enjoys the taste of a sweet kept on his tongue even though he does not see it or realize its appearance. This is the case of a devotee who believes the human form of God. A person is not blind but he is eating some mud claiming it as the sweet. He has seen the mud and can explain the nature of it. But what is the use? His conclusion is wrong and therefore he lost the experience of sweet. Egoism is responsible for such loss. A devotee who does not believe the human incarnation but believes in other forms like statues, which are not God is also a blind person who eats mud thinking it as a sweet. A person who has not tasted sweets pleads or believes that the mud is the only sweet. He is not prepared to taste the real sweet. Therefore he is not capable of differentiating the mud from sweet. Therefore mere devotion is not sufficient. The devotion must be associated with knowledge or logical analysis to reject the items of the creation as non-God entities.

Lord comes in Human form to preach and uplift the human souls
Posted by: dattaswami - 09-23-2006, 02:40 AM - Forum: Discussion of Beliefs - Replies (6)

<b>Lord comes in Human form to preach and uplift the human souls</b>

The Lord is giving experience to us in every walk of life about His existence. But, such experiences become weak in course of time due to the petty minds of the human beings. The human mind always takes logic and interprets such experiences as mere accidental situations. Therefore the faith of the theists is not strong. The human preachers are unable to answer the doubts of these human beings and this further weakens the faith. Therefore, the Lord comes down in the form of a human being as the divine preacher.

Thus, there is a bare neccesity for such incarnation. Veda says<b> ‘Yat Saakshat Aparokshat Brahma’,</b>
which means that Brahman comes down before the eyes of the human beings. Gita also says <b>‘Maanusheem Tanumaasritam’ </b>
which means that Brahman comes down as a human being. But the human body follows the rules of the nature and is not different from any other human body. The shirt of a king is not different from any other shirt. It can be cut with the help of a blade like any other shirt. The speciality is in the king but not in the shirt. If the Lord wishes, He could take the human body, which has neither birth nor death. It can be a divine body, which appears before all the human beings at different places and preaches, in different languages in the sametime. But, such creation of divine body means that the Lord is going beyond the rules of the nature, which are created by the Lord only. The Lord has such divine power, which can go beyond this nature.

Such divine power is called ‘Maya’ and the Lord who is the possessor of such Maya is called ‘Mayee’ as said in Gita “Mayinam tu Maheswaram”. But no sensible administrator will break his own rules when a work is possible within the set up of the administration. There is no need of doing that work by breaking the adminstration. The Lord can achieve the same result by taking several human bodies at a time and from generation to generation. In such way, the administration is not interferred. Therefore, the Lord comes in several human incarnations at a time in each generation and the Viswarupa represents this. In Gita, the prayer on the Viswarupa mentions about several feet, faces and also several stomaches (Aneka Baahoodara Vaktra Netram). Therefore, the present picture of Viswarupa is wrong.

It means only the photo of a group of preachers existing at the same time. The word “Udara” (stomach) is not justified in the present picture of ‘Viswarupam’, which is again another mis-perception leading to misinterpretation.

Therefore, it is very very clear that Datta means only the human incarnation that came down to preach the true divine knowledge. But, due to natural egoism and jealousy the human beings do not recognize the Lord in the form of a human being. Only very few believed Krishna as Lord. Only very few believed Shirdi Sai Baba as God. When Sai was alive there were few devotees only and no body thought of a temple for Him. Even Butee wanted to build a temple for Krishna only who was a past incarnation. Now there are millions of devotees and lakhs of temples for Sai baba because He is no more a present incarnation. He who wins over the three types of egoism caused by the three qualities (Trigunas) is called as ‘Atri’. He who conquerred jealousy (Asuya) is ‘Anasuya’. Such a devotee only can capture the human incarnation. This is the sense of the statement that Atri and Anasuya attained Datta.

Reference of 'Human Incarnation' in Veda
Posted by: dattaswami - 09-23-2006, 02:39 AM - Forum: Discussion of Beliefs - Replies (1)

<b>Reference of 'Human Incarnation' in Veda</b>

Some Scholars argue that there is no referrence of human incarnation in Veda. It is not correct. Veda says <b>“Ajayamaano Bahudha Vijaayate” </b>
which means that the Lord, who has no birth is born through several forms. Veda also says<b> “Tadeva Anu Pravisat”</b>
which means that Brahman entered the world as an individual soul. Some Scholars have misinterpreted this text also, stating that it means that Brahman entered the creation in the form of a living being and not as human incarnation. Such interpretation is wrong because Veda says that a human being is born from the food derived from the plants (Annat Purushah).

The plants are modification of the five elements. Brahman(God) cannot be born from the food. Therefore Brahman created the inert universe and the living beings in the beginning itself for the entertainment. On seeing the cinema of creation, Brahman was not satisfied and therefore entered the world as a specified soul, which is the human incarnation. Moreover Gita says that the creation (Prakriti) is of two parts. One part is the inert nature called as Apara. The second part is the life called as Para. Prakriti means creation. The Para Prakriti means the best part of the creation. Brahman enters this world not only for the full entertainment but also likes to give vision, touch, conversation and co-living to the devotees.

<b>There are several human incarnations, which are given to this world and such human incarnation is called as 'Datta’. The word Datta means given or gifted. Datta is not a specific deity as people misunderstand. Datta means any human incarnation that is gifted to the world to liberate the devotees. </b>
These incarnations are of different levels because the devotees are also of different levels. Datta means the system of preachers who come down at different levels, at different places and in different religions for the sake of the human beings, who are also at different places, at different levels and in different religions.

The main aim of the human incarnation is only to preach the divine special knowledge, which cannot be preached by any individual soul. Such special knowledge is called as ‘Prajnanam’ in Veda. At one place, there will be elementary school, high school, college and University and teachers of different levels are required at one place itself. Such teachers of different levels are required in each place, each language and each religion.

If the Lord is confined to a particular place or language or generation or religion, He becomes partial. Gita says that the Lord is the divine Father of all the human beings (Aham Bija Pradah Pitaa). An individual soul is the father of a limited family and the Lord is the Father of the entire world.

  Creation Entertainment of God
Posted by: dattaswami - 09-22-2006, 05:11 PM - Forum: Discussion of Beliefs - No Replies

<b>Creation Entertainment of God</b>

<b>Was the Lord not satisfied with Himself that He started this dolls-play of creation with animals, plants and humans? For the Lord it is a game to engage souls in deeds and then clear their sins (or good deeds). If He has set the rules of the game and He has predetermined how much sin of each soul to clear in one birth, then does the soul have no independent will and freedom of choice? Should we just do our duty as told in the Gita and not worry about steering our own lives as we see fit?</b>

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Infact the Lord is satisfied by Himself as said in the Brahma Sutra (Lokavattu Leela Kaivalyam). The Lord gets satisfaction when His devotee gets satisfied. The essential aim of this creation for the God is only the sweetness of love. The Lord enjoys the sweetness in the love of His devotees to Him. The Devotees enjoy the same sweetness of love of God to them. Therefore, the devotees who are satisfied with such sweet love will not put this question. Only the devotees who could not get such love which flows to both sides are subjected to this question. Such devotees love these unreal bonds in this world.

They do not get satisfaction because when such love is analyzed, the inner selfishness comes out. When the essence of such love is realized, this question comes to the mind and the creation looks waste. They have seen only the false love of the world but have not seen the true love of God. If they enter the spiritual line and experience the true love of the Lord, they will certainly find the necessity of this wonderful creation. Without this creation the existence of such divine love is not possible. Therefore, on realizing the false love in this world one has to turn towards God to experience the real love. When they experience the divine love they will appreciate the Creator, the Creation and the aim of the Creation. Thus the game, which is the aim of the Creation, is not just for the selfish satisfaction of the Lord. In fact the divine love is more enjoyed by the soul than the Lord. The reason is that the Lord Himself is an infinite ocean of bliss and does not require any more enjoyment.

It is actually the soul, which is an infinite ocean of worry and misery enjoys the divine love, which contains bliss. Sri Rama Krishna Paramahamsa told that He likes to be the ant to enjoy the sugar than to be the sugar itself. The ant, which is not sugar, enjoys more the sugar. The sugar being itself the sugar cannot enjoy the sweetness. In fact even the Lord imposes ignorance on Him and becomes an ordinary soul to enjoy really this sweetness of divine love. Hanuman was the incarnation of the Lord Shiva. He cannot enjoy the divine love of the Lord to a devotee. Therefore, He imposed ignorance on Himself and became a devotee. Hanuman enjoyed the divine love of the Lord Rama more than Rama Himself. Infact Rama also could enjoy the divine love by imposing self-ignorance and by acting as an ordinary human being. Therefore, this game is more meaningful for the sake of the souls than the Lord Himself. The Lord transfers the evil results of such real devotees to Himself and enjoys actually the misery. By this the devotee enjoys permanent happiness. Therefore, this game of the world is finally resulting in the permanent happiness of devotees (souls) only and not for the enjoyment of the Lord.

The rules of the game are well defined. Violation is not possible as long as you are in the field of Pravrutti. Even in Pravrutti if you accept and surrender to Lord unlike the atheist, some concession is given as the rearrangement of the results i.e., postponing and pre-poning. Since, the interest is increased and decreased respectively, the concession is not beyond the rules of justice. When the person to whom you have to pay the loan comes to you, he may postpone the payment on your request but will not cancel the interest. But in the Nivrutti the loan and the interest is cancelled. But the Lord pays all that for your sake. The main purpose of the human incarnation is only this. Through human body, He suffers as you suffer. He will not avoid suffering using His super power because it will be again cheating the justice.

Thus, the rules of the game, which are called, as the administration of justice is never violated either in Pravrutti or Nivrutti. But you have the full freedom in the game to win or to be defeated. The rules will not affect your chances of either success or defeat. You have to play the game following rules. Sometimes the rules may help you to succeed. When the soul with its subtle body returns to the earth with a gross body as a baby, the subtle body contains very little remains of the original qualities. In the hell the intensity of these qualities is very much reduced. The remains of these qualities are called as Karma Sesha (Remains of deeds). Actually it is Samskara Sesha (Remains of qualities). People misunderstand at this point and think that the subtle body is associated with the remains of the deeds. The deed is inert and cannot be present in the life energy (Subtle body). Only a quality, which is a wave of the life energy, can remain in the subtle body. When a thief was beaten in the police station and is left, he comes out with reduced intensity in his quality of steeling. The deed of steeling does not remain with the thief.

It is this remainder of quality that generates its corresponding deed of steeling. The remaining quality of steeling grows in the encouraging atmosphere and generates the deed of steeling. Now you are caught and again punished. For the second punishment, which is the cause? The root cause is only the remaining quality of steeling. Thus, you are said that you are undergoing the result of the past deed. The word "Past deed" means the past remaining quality only. If that past remaining quality is destroyed, there is no second punishment. How to destroy the quality? The quality is made of life energy and is constituted by wrong knowledge. Therefore, only the right divine knowledge can destroy the quality. If the qualities are destroyed by the divine knowledge the deeds are destroyed. This is said in Gita, "Jnanagnih Sarva Karmani …..", which means that divine knowledge can destroy all the deeds.

What is this divine knowledge? It is the knowledge of the Lord, your self and path to attain Him and please Him. If He is pleased, He will give you the divine knowledge and all the deeds are burnt. If you are unable to use the knowledge fully and if some deeds are still left over due to your improper assimilation of knowledge, the Lord will burn those deeds also by suffering with those results. The Lord clearly stated in Gita that the divine knowledge alone could relieve you from all the sins. Once you are determined due to the divine knowledge you will practice it without any doubt. The result of that is the full grace of the Lord.

The divine knowledge consists of two parts 1) If you are in Pravrutti (path of justice) only, you can attain your self by the self-realization. In this you will be fixed in the self and get detached from the both subtle and gross bodies. By this all the bonds related to gross body and related to feelings (Subtle body) are cut off and you will attain the eternal peace. All your worries, anxiety, tensions, misery, mental pain, dissatisfaction, confusion etc., will disappear forever. You will live with perfect peace through out your life. Peace is your property, which is the characteristic of your soul. You have to think that you are the pure awareness, which is stand still (called as Atman or soul). When you are attached to the gross body or subtle body (Mind), you have lost the peace. If you are attached to the casual body (soul), you have gained your lost peace.

2) In Nivrutti (path of liberation) you attain the Lord who has come in the human form for your sake to give the bliss. Bliss is only the characteristic of Lord as said in Veda (Anando Brahma……). Veda also says that the Lord alone can give bliss to the soul (Eshahyeva Anandayati……).

Bliss is not characteristic of the soul. Your property is only the golden chain and not the diamond necklace. You should not think that peace is bliss. By your effort you can attain only peace but not the bliss. You can get the bliss only by nearing yourself to Sadguru who is the human incarnation. You can get the cool breeze when you are near the sea on the shore. If you are in the house, you have avoided the hot sun. By attaining the soul you have come to zero from minus, but that is not plus. Zero is within yourself and bliss is from external agency. When you have attained what you have, it is avoiding loss, which can give only peace but not the bliss.

Thus, the divine knowledge of Sadguru gives you atleast peace, which is the earth, if not the bliss, which is the sky. He will give you the knowledge of Atman to give peace. This is essential requirement for anyone in this world. A few blessed people can also get the bliss if they realise that the Sadguru is the Lord Himself. Therefore, you must utilise the full freedom given to you in this human birth and you must destroy all your sins permanently through Nivrutti only. You should be very active to use this unlimited freedom within the limited span of lifetime. When you leave this gross body and go to upper worlds you have no freedom at all and those upper worlds hence are called as " Bhoga Loka" which mean that they are the worlds in which the results are to be enjoyed without any freedom. This earth is called as "Karma Loka" which means the world in which you are given full freedom to do anything. You are given the opportunity to receive the divine knowledge here and if you practice it by determination, your entire fate is changed here and there also.

The sages did long penance and sat in the process of self-realization for several ages. They obtained peace of the self but not bliss of the Brahman. Then they realized and approached Lord Krishna as Gopikas for the bliss, which they got in Brindavanam in the vicinity of the Lord (Sayujyam). You can smile or laugh with bliss only by attaining the Lord in human form.

You can get atleast a shadow of the bliss by remembering the Lord. But without any external agency you cannot get happiness or bliss. If you are peaceful and silent, no body will ask you the reason but if you are laughing and dancing in bliss stating that there is no external reason for it, it is unnatural and people will admit you in the mental hospital.

What is the ultimate authority in spirituality?
Posted by: dattaswami - 09-22-2006, 03:17 AM - Forum: Discussion of Beliefs - Replies (2)

<b> What is the ultimate authority in spirituality?</b>

The Veda is the only authority in spirituality. It is the Word of the Lord in verse form. It was transmitted from generation to generation by the highly sophisticated tradition of oral recitation, which ensured preservation of the original verses without any corruption.

The great sage Vyāsa says in the third Brahma sūtra “Śāstra yonitvāt”. Śāstra means Veda, which is the Word of the Ruler (śāsaka). The Bhagavad Gītā also says that the Śāstra is the authority. The Bhagavad Gītā was given by Lord Kṛṣṇa who is God Himself. It is said that the Bhagavad Gītā is the essence of the Veda. One needs to carefully understand the meaning of this. Sugarcane juice is in the sugarcane but the sugarcane is not in the sugarcane juice. The sugarcane has more in it than merely juice. Thus when we say that the Bhagavad Gītā is the essence of the Vedas, it means that the meaning of the verses in the Bhagavad Gītā must be found in the Veda. However the entire Veda may not be found in the Bhagavad Gītā. The Bhagavad Gītā is thus a subset of the Vedas.

Therefore if the meaning of a verse in the Bhagavad Gītā is not traceable to the Veda then it is safe to assume that that verse is not part of the original text and that Lord Kṛṣṇa never spoke this verse. Such a verse must have been added later on. Thus even in comparison with the Bhagavad Gītā, the Veda alone stands as the authority. Any Saṁskṛtam verse from any book written by any sage or saint, (Smṛti) should not oppose the Veda. That which is not told in the Veda, cannot be accepted even if the Smṛti (Śruti smṛthi virodhetu) presents it. The statements and logic of the Smṛtis can be accepted only as long as it does not contradict the Veda. This has been clearly told by Śaṅkara (Śruti mataḥ tarkaḥ).

The logic behind accepting only statements which agree with the Veda is similar to the logic by which only the statement of a sane man is accepted and not that of a foolish man. The criteria of sanity or rationality that we impose in evaluating the veracity of a statement or experience of any person in day-to-day life is comparable to the criteria of agreement with the Veda of any spiritual work, experience or logic.

The Veda can be compared to the constitution of a nation. A law-maker or a lawyer in the court has to ensure that each law made and enforced is in keeping with the constitution. Any law that directly opposes the constitution cannot be accepted at any cost. In a court of law, only two lawyers are allowed to argue in the court. A lay man should employ an advocate on his behalf in the court as he is not competent enough to argue his own case. Similarly only two scholars of Vedas can argue on a concept relating to the Veda. A lay man or a person with little knowledge should not argue with a Vedic scholar (vivādaśca samayoḥ). A lay man can be easily taught. A Vedic scholar can also be easily taught. However when it comes a person with partial knowledge, even Lord Brahma cannot convince him (brahmāpi na rañjayati)

The significance of Present Human Incarnation

<b>The significance of Present Human Incarnation</b>

When you read the scriptures, which are the discourses of past human incarnations, you will get so many doubts demanding clarification. If the original Lord is not available, we have to depend on other fellow human beings for clarifications. Suppose you are studying a correspondence course. When you get a doubt, you have to depend on your classmate, who is studying the course similarly. He is not competent to clarify your doubts and you will be poisoned by his wrong interpretations. Suppose you are studying the same course in a college and the lecturer is explaining in the class. Whenever you get a doubt, you can ask him then and there and you will surely get the correct interpretation at the correct moment. The clarification is important at the correct moment because without clarification the latter part of the lecture may not be understood or may be misunderstood. Such a facility does not exist with past human incarnations and past scriptures. In this light alone, Jesus modified all the Old Testament and gave the correct interpretation as and when people asked Him questions and doubts. If Jesus is not in the present generation, He must be blamed for being partial towards that generation alone. However God is impartial and therefore comes in every generation.

The present generation is very much blessed because of the facility of computer technology. You can clarify your doubts through this computer system without any strain of traveling to the human incarnation in person. All the divine preachers in this world are in contact with God and are doing the divine preaching to various levels of devotees. Their preachings may be mixed with some ignorance and it is not their fault because such mixing with ignorance in various proportions is required for various lower levels of human beings. The complete and pure knowledge without any trace of ignorance can be grasped only by a very few highest devotees. The number of advanced research students studying under a professor is always very small. Therefore the direct human incarnation is recognized by a very few top level devotees only.

The number of elementary school students are always many and the number of elementary school teachers are also many. As you rise in the level, the number of students and the number of professors become lesser and lesser. Therefore you should not aspire for a large number of followers. For the direct human incarnation, there will be only a very few deserving devotees of such a top level. But such top devotees are spread here and there all over the world. Therefore there is a necessity for propagating the top most divine knowledge of the top most human incarnation, all over the world. But the number of followers will not be high but will be the very least. Jesus said that His path is very narrow and that only very few people travel on it. Lord Krishna has told in the Gita that only one in millions can perfectly understand Him (Kashchit Mam Vetti…). Therefore the aim of the topmost human incarnation is not to have a large number of followers, since it is impossible. The aim is only to see that the topmost knowledge reaches the few deserving devotees, who are spread all over the world here and there. If you wish to have a large number of followers, then divine knowledge has to be adulterated with ignorance. The naked truth should not be exposed in such a case. Diamonds are always in few in number whereas gravel stones are many.

The lower level devotees and the lower level school teachers should not be criticized. The levels of school, college and university are obviously required due to the existence of human beings in the corresponding levels. Therefore you should not criticize the students in schools and colleges. Today you are a student of a university. But one day you were in the school and in the college. Without the guidance of the school teacher and the college lecturer you could not have entered the university. The direct human incarnation of the Lord is the topmost professor, who has a few post graduate and research level students.

God, being the head of the university level in spirituality, the schools and colleges are affiliated to the university and work under His leadership. It is the huge system of divine preachers. The school teachers and the college lecturers are working under the guidance and will of that Professor alone. The system is split to suit the various levels but there is no split in the preachers. The whole system of divine preachers is perfectly working due to the grace of that Supreme Preacher. There is no split in the preachers. Mixing up ignorance with knowledge is inevitable and is done according to the level of the students.

There is only one Supreme Preacher in a generation and He will be covering all the preachers and religions under the concept of Universal Spirituality. Some lower preachers may oppose this concept and it is not the fault of those preachers. Since the students of some lower levels do not agree to this concept, those preachers have to proceed according to their psychology.

The supreme preacher knows this fact and only smiles, if any preacher of a lower level opposes this concept. It is by the internal wish of Supreme Preacher only, that preacher opposes Him so that he can have a grip on his students who are of a lower level and do not like this concept. It is a very long journey to transform the entire Universe and make it realize this concept of Universal Spirituality. But one day or other this divine goal will be achieved and the entire world will be like one family with one Divine Father. The various cultures and religions need not disappear. But the innermost single continuous thread of the garland of gems with various colors will be realized by every human being of this universe. Such a state is called as WORLD PEACE.

Please remember that the divine preachers in this entire Universe are not at all split. They appear as if they are split in order to have a grip on their corresponding students, who are really split. All these divine preachers are connected by their innermost souls and are working by the grace of that Supreme preacher, who is the Lord in human form. The difference in the preachers is only apparent to satisfy the different psychologies of the followers. One preacher may criticize another preacher in order to satisfy his followers but all these divine preachers are internally united and are working on the single program of transforming this entire world to realize the Universal Spirituality, which is the Absolute Truth like the one Absolute God.

All the original preachers like Krishna, Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad etc. are brilliant diamonds and all their followers are like black pieces of charcoal. The diamond and charcoal are made of the same carbon atoms. Similarly the preacher and the follower are human beings. In the diamond there is a regular crystal structure. The charcoal is amorphous, without any crystal structure. Thus the correct logical interpretation makes the scripture shine like a brilliant diamond. The same scripture without regular logical interpretation becomes a black charcoal.

<b>Does every soul reach God? </b>

A) For humanity God is confined to the human form only. Even the recognition itself is very difficult. Even after recognition it is more difficult to stand on it because He exhibits the Maya of three qualities. One in millions and that too in one birth after millions of births can identify and please the God with full sacrifice and service. Like this Gita says (Kaschit mam….).
