Quran and the Characteristics of the skin

THE QURAN ON THE SENSORY CHARACTERISTIC OF THE SKIN

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dr. Tagata Tagasone: Laa Ilaaha Illallah Muhammad Rasool Allah!

This man is uttering the Islamic creed (Shahaadah) and declaring that he is becoming a Muslim. This occurred during the Eighth Saudi Medical Conference which was convened in Riyadh. He is Professor Tagata Tagasone, formerly Head of the Department of Anatomy and Embryology at the University of Shiang Mai in Thailand. He is now the Dean of the College of the Medicine at the University.

We presented to Professor Tagasone some Qur’aanic verses and Prophetic Ahadeeth which deal with his specialization in the field of anatomy. He commented that they also had in their Buddhist books very accurate descriptions of embryonic developmental stages. We told him that we were very anxious and interested to see those descriptions and learn about these books. A year later, Professor Tcame to King Abdul Aziz University as an outside examiner. We reminded him of the statement he made one year before, but he apologized and said that he in fact had made that statement without ascertaining the matter. However, when he checked the Buddhist books he found that they contained nothing of relevance to the subject.

Upon this we presented to him a lecture written by Professor Keith Moore about the compatibility of modern embryology with what is contained in the Qur’aan and the Sunnah and we asked Professor Tagasone if he knew of Professor Keith Moore. He replied that he knew him of course, adding that Professor Moore was one of the Most world-renowned scientists in that field.

When Professor Tagasone studied this article he also was greatly astonished. We asked him several questions in his field of specialization. One of the questions pertained to modern discoveries in dermatology about the sensory characteristics of the skin.

Dr. Tagasone responded: Yes if the burn is deep.

It was stated to Dr. Tagasone: You will be interested to know that in this book, the Holy book the Qur’aan, there was a reference 1400 years ago which refers to the moment of punishment of the unbelievers by the fire of Hell and it states that when their skin is destroyed, Allah makes another skin for them so that they perceive the punishment by a fire, indicating knowledge about the nerve endings in the skin, and the verse is:

Those who reject our signs. We shall soon cast into the fire; as often as their skins are roasted through. We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the chastisement: for Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise (Qur’aan 4:56).

So do you agree that this is a reference to the importance of the nerve endings in the skin in sensation, 1400 years ago?

Dr. Tagasone responded: Yes I agree. This knowledge about sensation had been known long before. Because it says that if somebody does something wrong, then he will be punished by burning his skin and then Allah puts a new skin in him, cover him, to make him know that the test is painful again. That means they knew many years ago that the receptor of pain sensation must be on the skin, so they put a new skin on.

The skin is the center of sensitivity to burns. Thus, if the skin is completely burnt by fire, it looses its sensitivity. It is for this reason that Allah will punish the unbelievers on the Day of Judgement by returning to them their skins time after time, as He, the Exalted and Glorified, said in the Qur’aan:

Those who reject our signs. We shall soon cast into the fire; as often as their skins are roasted through. We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the chastisement: for Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise (Qur’aan 4:56).

We asked him the following question: ‘Is it possible that these verses came to the Prophet Muhammad, (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam), from a human source?’

Professor Tagasone conceded that they could have never come from any human source. But he still asked about the source of that knowledge and from where could Muhammad have possibly received it? We said, ‘From Allah, the Most Glorified and Most Exalted.’ Then he asked: ‘But who is Allah?’ We replied: He is the Creator of all that is in existence.’ If you find wisdom then it is because it comes only from the one Who is Most Wise. If you find knowledge in the making of this universe, it is because the universe is the creation of the One Who has all the knowledge. If you find perfection in the composition of these creations, then it is proof to you that it is the creation of the One Who Knows Best. And if you find mercy, then this bears witness to the fact that it is the creation of the One Who is Most Merciful. In the same way, if you perceive creation as belonging to one unified order and tied together firmly, then this is proof that it is the creation of the Only Creator, May He be Glorified and Exalted.

This is no less than a reminder to (all) the worlds. And you shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while.(38:87-88).

  Muslims and Islam

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad(saw), his wives, his family, his companions and righteous followers

THINGS WHICH NULLIFY A MUSLIMS ISLAM

Makes a Muslim Kafir (disbeliever)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Truly it is the greatest blessing from Allah (SWT) to be guided to Islam. All praise is to Allah Lord of the Heavens and the Earth and all that they contain. We thank Allah for bestowing upon us such a great blessing.

Today most people have forgotten this great blessing from Allah (SWT). A true believer should not only be thankful to Allah for guiding him/her to Islam but most importantly should make sure he/she stays within the boundaries of Islam. A Muslim (believer in oneness of Allah) can go out of Islam by committing shirk and becoming a Mushrik (polytheist) or committing Kufr (disbelief) and becoming a kafir (disbeliever). In order to stay within the boundaries of Islam it is essential to know what shirk and kufr are. Only when we actually know what shirk and kufr are then we can keep away from them.

Shirk (Polytheism) means setting up partners in the Lordship, Worship (ibadah) or Names, Attributes and Actions of Allah(swt), for Allah the Most High says: "Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He wills; and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin." Surah 4 An-Nisa, Ayah 48

And the Most High also says:

"...Verily who sets up partners with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the wrong doers there are no helpers." Surah 5: 72

Kufr (disbelief) linguistically means covering or concealing. So when a person covers or conceals the truth he is committing kufr. It relates to disbelieving in any of the following: Allah, His Angels, His Messengers, His Revelations, the Day of Judgement and Divine Fate and Destiny. Kufr or disbelief can result from different factors like denial, doubts, suspicions, jealousy, arrogance or following some whims which deter one from adhering to the Message of Islam. Shirk and Kufr can be committed in various ways, Ten very common examples have been explained below:

1) Whoever makes between himself and Allah(swt) intermediaries and relies upon them (tawakkul) becomes a Mushrik ( polytheist).

A common example would be if a husband and his wife go to a peer (religious figure) or a saint and request him to 'bless' them with a child, wrongly believing that the man is the one who will enable them to have a child. Allah Almighty says: "Those on whom you call besides Allah are only slaves like yourselves." Surah 7, Ayah 194

Something, which is less obvious but is widespread among the Muslim Ummah worldwide is the use of charms and amulets (taweez). A person may wear an amulet around his neck or arm and expect it to cure him of his illness. The belief in charms gives created things the Divine Power to avert misfortune and thus, those who subscribe to such beliefs in effect try to take what belongs to Allah and assign it to Allah's creation. Therefore, the belief in charms is an evident form of shirk.

Allah is the only real power in existence, it is He who gives all things the power to move and change. Nothing can happen except by the will of Allah. In recognition of this reality Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) used to often repeat "La hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah" (There is no movement nor power except by Allah's will). Allah (SWT) says: "If Allah allows harm to befall you none can remove it except Him." Surah 6 Al-Anaam: 17

Also:

"And no calamity strikes except by Allah's permission" Surah 64 At-Tagahaabun, Ayah 11

Once we understand that nothing happens except by the will of Allah(SWT), and that all good is from Allah, and no harm can befall us or be removed from us except by the will of Allah, then it is clear and easy to understand that we should not believe that peers (religious, holy people), charms or amulets can bring us good or remove harm.

We recite at least 17 times in our prayers: "You (alone) we worship, and from You (alone) we seek help". Surah Al-Fatiha 1, Ayah 5. Therefore every Muslim should implement these verses in real life and not merely recite them. Allah(SWT) says: "When my servents ask you (O Muhammad) about Me (tell them), I listen to the prayer of everyone who calls on Me. So let them respond to Me and believe in Me in order that they may be guided aright." Surah 2 Al-Baqarah, Ayah 186

Allah(SWT) also says: "Put your trust in Allah if you are truly believers" Surah 5 Al-Ma'idah, Ayah 23

2) Whoever does not reject the polytheist (someone who ascribes partners with Allah) or the kafir or doubts in their belief has become a Kafir.

For example if a person says that he is not sure whether a Christian, Jew or Hindu is a Kafir or not, then he obviously has doubts in Islam. Allah(swt) says in the Quran:

"Only those are the believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and after ward doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives for the cause of Allah. Those ! they are the truthful. Surah 49, Ayah 15

Allah(swt) also says:

"Indeed there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrahim and those with him, when they said to their people: "Verily we are free from you and whatever you worship beside Allah: We have rejected you, and there has started between us and you hostility and hatred for ever until you believe in Allah alone" Surah 60: Ayah 6

3) Whoever wishes to go for judgement to other then Allah (Quran and Sunnah), has ascribed a partner with Allah, and has become a mushrik. This is because the right to judge, command, and legislate belong only to Allah. We must acknowledge this in theory and practice, by being judged only by Allah(SWT)'s commands and legislations (Quran and Sunnah).

Today man has exceeded his limits and attempted to take Allah(SWT)'s right of judgement, legislation and commandment. On the other hand man has ascribed a partner to Allah by acknowledging these false judges, legislators and those making commandments based on other then Allah's Sharia (Quran and Sunnah).

In order for us to worship Allah(SWT) alone we must acknowledge that only Allah has the right to legislate, command, and judge, and in turn we must adhere strictly to the commands, legislations and judgements of Allah(SWT) only (Quran And Sunnah). Allah(swt) says:

"Have you seen those (hypocrites) who claim that they believe in that which has been sent down to you, and that which was sent down before you, and they wish to go for judgement (in their disputes) to the Taghut (false judges) while they have been ordered to reject them. But shaytan (satan) wishes to lead them far astray." Surah 4 An-Nisa, Ayah 60

Also Allah(swt) says:

"But no by your Lord, they can have no faith, until they make you (Muhammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam)) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission. Sura 4 Nisa, Ayah 65

Also:

"You do not worship besides Him but only names which you have named- you and your fathers- for which Allah has sent down no authority. The Hukm (judgement, legislation, command) is for none but Allah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him; that is the (true) straight religion, but most men know not." Surah 12, Ayah 40

Allah(swt) has also informed us by saying:

"Indeed your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and then rose over (Istawa) the Throne. He brings the night as a cover over the day, seeking it rapidly, and (He created) the sun, the moon, the stars subjected to His Amr (command). Surely, His is the creation and Amr (commandment). Blessed is Allah, the Lord of Alamin." Surah 7, Ayah 54

4) Whoever is displeased with anything Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) has come with- even though he acts according to it, has commited kufr (disbelief). One such example could be a person who prays the five daily prayers but hates to perform them or a woman who wears hijab but hates it. Allah(swt) says:

"But no by your Lord, they can have no faith, until they make you (Muhammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam)) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission." Sura 4 Nisa Ayah 65

5) Whoever ridicules or makes fun of anything in the Deen (religion) or mocks any reward or punishment in Islam- has become a Kaafir. The evidence for this is the saying of Allah(swt):

"Say, was it Allah and His Messenger that you were mocking? Make no excuses; you have disbelieved after you had believed..." Surah 9 At-Taubah, Ayah 65-66

6) Magic (Al-Sihr), All types of magic are forbidden- whether one participates, spends in it or is sympathetic towards its practice. Whoever practices magic or is pleased with magic, becomes a Kafir. For Allah(swt) has said in the Quran:

"... Sulayman did not disbelieve, but the Shayateen disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels Harut and Marut, but neither of these two taught anyone till they had said 'We are only for trial, so believe not (by learning from us)'... And indeed they knew, that the buyers of it (magic) would have no share in the Hereafter." Surah 9 At-Taubah, Ayah 23

7) Whoever supports and helps the mushrik (polytheist, disbeliever) against the Muslim is a Kafir because the enemy of Allah(swt) is dearer to him than a Muslim who believes in Allah(swt). The evidence for this is the saying of Allah(swt):

"O you who believe! Take not for auliya (protectors, helpers, friends) disbelievers instead of believers. Do you wish to offer Allah a manifest proof against yourselves? Sura 4:144

Also:

"O you who believe! Take not as Auliya (supporters and helpers) your fathers and your brothers if they prefer disbelief to Belief. And whoever of you does so, then he is one of the Zalimun (wrongdoers)." 9: 23

And:

"O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya' (friends, protectors, helpers) they are but Auliya of each other. And if any amongst you takes them (as auliya), then surely he is one of them. Verily Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and unjust)." Sura Al-Ma'idah Ayah 51

8) If a person believes that he can improve upon Islam by adding things to the Shari'ah (Laws of Allah(swt)) or removing some aspects of it then he becomes a Kafir. This is because Allah(swt) sent the Message of Islam to His Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) for all of mankind in perfection and if anyone denies this then he contradicts the following Ayah in the Qur'an:

"This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favour upon you, and have chosen Islam as your religion." Surah 5 Al-Ma'idah, Ayah 3

9) To love something is natural but if you love anything more then Allah, or equal to Allah(SWT) then you have made a partner with Allah and this is a form of Shirk. Allah(swt) says:

"Say if you fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your kindred, the wealth that you have gained, the commerce in which you fear a decline, and the dwellings in which you delight.... are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger, and fighting Jihad in His cause then wait until Allah brings about His Decision (torment). And Allah guides not the people who are Al-Fasiqun (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah)" 9: 24

Also:

"And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah). They love them as they love Allah. But those who believe, love Allah more (than anything else). If only those who do wrong could see, when they will see the torment, that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is severe in punishment." Sura Al-Baqarah Ayah 165.

10) Turning away from the Message of Muhammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam), by not learning it or acting according to it, takes a person outside the fold of Islam. The proof for this is in the Qur'an as Allah(SWT) says :

"And who is more unjust (wrong) than one who is reminded of the signs of Allah, then he turns away from them (the signs)? Most certainly We will take revenge on the guilty ones." Surah 32 As-Sajdah, Ayah 22

Also:

"And who turns away from the religion of Ibrahim (Abraham) (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) except him who befools himself ? Truly, we chose him in this world and verily, in the Hearafter he will be among the righteous." Sura 2 Al-Baqarah Ayah 130

Also:

"Say (O Muhammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) to mankind): "If you (really) love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." Surah 3 Al-Imran, Ayah 31

The above ten forms of Shirk and Kufr are amongst the most common examples by which a Muslims Islam is nullified and if he does not repent to Allah(swt) for his mistake and accept Islam again before he dies, he dies the death of a Mushrik (pagan) or a Kaafir (disbeliever), destined to dwell in Hell-fire.

The 25th of December is, as even the most ignorant, laid-back, good for nothing, illiterate dim-wit will tell you, Christmas Day; the day Jesus was born (according to popular Christian myth). When is Saint Valentine's Day? Most people will be willing to wager, without hesitation or a moments pause for thought, their life savings that it is on the 14th of February. Ask all romantics or for that matter non romantics, ask any Shabir, Imtiyaz or Rayhanah, from those in their earliest teens to those of us for whom youth is a collection of rapidly fading memories of a distant past, this question and others like it pose little difficulty.

I was testing a child whose parents took a keen interest in his school education. I asked him the dates of some historical events to which he fired back the answers unfalteringly.

"When was the Battle of Hastings?" I asked him.

"1066."

"The Great Plague?"

"1664 to early 1666. It claimed the lives of some 70’000 people."

"The Fire of London?"

"2nd to 5th September 1666. It started at Pudding Lane, 13’000 homes were destroyed."

"England's only World Cup Final victory?"

"1966, and weave never heard the end of it," he joked.

"First moon landing?"

"Neil Armstrong 1969."

"Span of the First World War?"

"1914 to 1918, treaty signed with Germany at Versailles in June, 1919."

"The birth of the Prophet Muhammad ?"

"Sorry?"

"When was the Prophet Muhammad born?" I paused to rephrase the question. "When was YOUR Prophet born?" I asked, laying emphasis on the your.

"Ah, yes, well, umm..." he began to falter.

I did not wish to embarrass him further. "He was born in the year referred to by the then Arabs as Aamul-Feel (The Year of the Elephant), corresponding to 571 CE (Christian Era), on the twelfth of Rabiul Awwal." I informed him.

"Rabiul-what?" he spoke as if he were articulating the words of an alien tongue.

  having a non muslim spouse
Posted by: reborn-muslimah - 09-06-2003, 02:03 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Assalam alaikum.. I’ve read an article on this site saying that it is okay to marry or stay married to someone who is not a Muslim (who is from the people of the book) but as far as I heard that it is not permitted. Sure there was a time when it was practiced and permitted but later on it was withdrawn.. I’m asking about it because I get both version of the system. Some people call it ok some people not.

in here it is also mentioned that someone can stay with their spouses even after converting to islam. i have another question about that too.. When Umme Kulsum (daughter of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)) were married to a non Muslim guy back then it was permited. When one of the wars broke out her husband was one of the POW of the Muslim (because he was fighting for the non Muslim side) anyway, he was released by letting his wife get back to her parents home.

But later on the rule had changed. People got divorced when they converted to Islam so there wasn’t string attached. Now tell me which one we should follow?

I’m asking this because honestly I don’t have enough knowledge about Islam but I would like to learn more.

as salam alykom

A companion named Hodayr, during one of the battles, was waiting to take his share of the zad (provision) while the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم تسليما كثيرا forgot him. he went to the very back of the army gathering, so that his peers will not notice he has nothing and might offer to share theirs with him. He kept talking to Allah saying: Sobhan Allah, walhamdulleah, wa la ilaha ila Allah wa Allah u Akbar khyru zad (provision or food). Allahum your Messenger fogot Hodayr. Allah sent Gabriel to Sayenda Mohamed صلى الله عليه وسلم to tell him that he forgot Hodayr. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم called someone and gave him a share. He told him go to the very back u will find someone named Hodayr talking to Allah, memorize what he is saying and when u give him the share memorize what he will say. The man went and found him saying the above mentioned quote. He asked him u r Hodayr, he said yes. He told him the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم is sending u this. He took it then said Alhamdulelah who remembered Hodayr, Allahum just as u remembered Hodayr, don't let Hodayr forget You.

May Allah makes us among those who remember Him day and night ameen

Amazing Facts of the Human Body

"And in the earth are signs for those who believe, and (also) in yourselves. Can you then not see?"

(Glorious Qur`an 51:21-20)

Our heart beats around 100,00 times every day.

Our blood is on a 60,000-mile journey.

Our eyes can distinguish up to one million colour surfaces and take in more information than the largest telescope known to man.

Our lungs inhale over two million litres of air every day, without even thinking. They are large enough to cover a tennis court.

Our hearing is so sensitive it can distinguish between hundreds of thousands of different sounds.

Our sense of touch is more refined than any device ever created.

Our brain is more complex than the most powerful computer and has over 100 billion nerve cells.

We give birth to 100 billion red cells every day.

When we touch something, we send a message to our brain at 124 mph.

We have over 600 muscles.

We exercise at least 30 muscles when we smile.

We are about 70 percent water.

We make one litre of saliva a day.

Our nose is our personal air-conditioning system: it warms cold air, cools hot air and filters impurities.

In one square inch of our hand we have nine feet of blood vessels, 600 pain sensors, 9000 nerve endings, 36 heat sensors and 75 pressure sensors.

We have copper, zinc, cobalt, calcium, manganese, phosphates, nickel and silicon in our bodies

The renewal of my car license
Posted by: Muslimah - 09-04-2003, 06:32 PM - Forum: General - Replies (10)

As Salam Alykom all

I don’t know why I felt like sharing this personal situation I went through last week. I went to renew my car lisence. For this I had to go to a traffic department other than the one I used to go to. Sobhan Allah, of course my country is relatively poor, I know this, I also know that most of the civil servants are terribly under paid to the extend that a fatwa was issued that they deserve zakkah. They do. But add to this the working conditions. La hawala wala qowata ila billah. I also already know this. But sometimes you see things that u know and get moved. The place is not nice, very hot, no A/C of course, merely ceiling fans, people look drained from the public pressure, transportation and more. I just thought to myself, and we are sitting Mash a Allah wa alhamdulelah in very nice working space, with much facilities, Mash a Allah, may Allah maintain His bounty. Yet we complain for the tiniest problem. We just must shut up. It conincided that my sister had to run a similar errand in another department. See they are all the same. But unfortunately she met the typical stereotype public servant who is very tired and impatient. I told her I just take their circumstances in consideration. She answered me very logically saying, but if they accept what Allah gave them, treat people well Allah shall give them a way out. I agree with her. Because the one Allah sent to process my documents, Sobhan Allah, really went out of his way to accomplish my task the easiest way could be. He took much time in order to explain to me. At the end I reminded him of the hadeeth that Allah Shall mitigate one suffering of the Day After for one who mitigates a suffering of his brother in this world. He said I know my lady, may Allah help us all. Sobhan Allah I made much dua for him.

May Allah sobhanhu wa ta`ala allow us all to observe Him in all what we do.

As Salam Alykom

I received this email, the idea is great, try to help:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Asalaam Alaikum All ....

I have been involved in many theological debates/discussions with various clergy members and ordinary people these past few months which has alerted me to the perception that the world in general has of Islam:

a) It is a religion of the people "over there"

[Image: cool.gif] That any converts have either come (in times past) by the sword / Or (in modern times) due to marrying a Muslim and then converting for the sake of marriage

I have a sincere interest in "awakening" the general west insha allah, to understand that Islam is a universal religion that is least of all confined to the Middle East. It is my intention to provide demographics about Islamic communities and the general facts about Islam and then segue into stories of converts and the motivation behind their conversion. I believe that there is a general lack of knowledge about Muslims and more importantly there are no familiar faces associated to what Islam is. Most people incorrectly assume that Islam has spread due to force and coercion. Most people are unware that Islam is the fastest growing religion and the reasons behind this phenomenon.

I am requesting that any and all who would like to participate in this effort to please correspond with me at my email address: mzouiten@aol.com. Please know that as you are doing so that you are performing a great service in the name of Islam and I ask that Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) reward your deeds and intentions.

Allah Jzak Khairun ..
