<b>We all have heard so often...'Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it', and history teaches us that man has seldom learned anything from it. The observation holds good all the more if men in concern happens to be Muslims.</b>

Muslims ruled over Spain from 712 AD to 1492 AD for 780 years, yet today there are no Muslims in Spain though every aspect of Spanish life has a touch of Islam. Spanish language has many Arabic words, its music has an Arabic tone, its culture has more Arabic influence than the European, and proper nouns in Spanish often have the Arabic prefix al. From 1492, when the last bastion of Muslim political strength Grenada fell, the Muslims of Spain were on the decline and its culmination took place after 120 years when the last batch of Muslim die-hards left Spain in 1612. From that year, Islam vanished from the Spanish horizons.


A particular noteworthy point is that during this period of Islamic decline from Spain, the entire civilized world was ruled by Muslims. The Ottoman Turks had conquered Constantinople in 1553, and were ruling the entire Balkan Peninsula, Egypt was ruled by the powerful Mamiukes, Persia was at its political pinnacle under the Abbasi rulers, and India was ruled by the Moghals. Still Islam vanished from Spain and none of these great Muslim armies did anything to protect the Muslims of Spain. How Islam was ejected from Spain had been a subject of keen study by lndia's RSS ( a fanatic group amongst Hindus adhering to nazi philosophy) and Zionists amongst Jews of Israel, in the 30s and 40s of this century. The fanatic RSS Hindus studied this aspect to be copied in India and to counter this possibility, the Muslim leaders also studied this to prevent a repetition of the Spanish methods because Muslims (forming 11.35% of the population as per 1981 census) as lndia's single largest minorities have become the biggest headache to the upper caste Hindus. But the present-day Muslims are totally ignorant of the history of Islamic decline in Spain and hence of the designs surrounding it.


Through this we intend to shed a little light on this subject so that the thinking section of the Muslims and their sympathisers may do some more research on this subject. As in India, Spanish Muslims had three categories: (i) the descendants of the original Arabs, (ii) descendants of Arab fathers and Spanish mothers and (iii) Christian converts to Islam. Immediately after the fall of Grenada many of the original Arabs to save their lives (not property, as they were not permitted to carry their wealth) left Spain to Tunisia and Morocco; many died on their journey by the attacking Christian hordes. Rest of the original Arabs who opted to live in Spain itself were subsequently branded 'foreigners" (as in India) and destroyers of Spain. The other category of Muslims viz. the descendants of Muslim fathers and Christian mothers and converts from Christianity opted to live in Spain believing in the declaration of King Ferdinand that complete religious freedom would be guaranteed. (in India also, we are told that Muslims enjoy full religious freedom and minority rights). The attacks by Christian on their lives and property during the earlier years was pardoned as a temporary phenomenon.


Compare it with the development that took place in India after the partition (1947). But these attacks on Muslim life and property in Spain did not abate but continued for about 50 years with lesser intensity in a sporadic manner, just as it is happening in India today. In the earlier years, the Indian Muslims resisted and fought back. There were mini-battles in the streets, but gradually there were one-sided attacks and every time Muslims were the losers. Of late, the Hindu police itself is let lose to kill the Muslims in India.


While the organized Christian groups were committing such massacres, Ferdinand's Govt, in Spain adopted the policy of eliminating Muslims from the services and adopting the following measures:-

Arabic was removed from administration, schools attached to mosques were debarred from teaching academic and secular subjects like science, history, mathematics and philosophy. Only religious teaching could be imparted, Lessons in history were faked by which the Muslim rule was dubbed as barbaric. Contribution of Muslims to the development of Spain was avoided, Muslim houses were made objects of constant searching by police on allegations of arms hoarding and secret meetings, Original Arab Muslims were projected as enemies of Christians and destroyers of Spain. Christian converts were persuaded to reconvert to Christianity on the ground that their ancestors were forced to become Muslims and as there is no more coercion, they should revert to Christianity. Muslims who were from Muslim-Christian parentage were branded as bastards and ridiculed and persuaded to revert to Christianity. Marriages performed in the Islamic manner were directed to be registered with the judicial officers.


Islamic law was declared illegal. Every method followed in Spain is being experimented in India with better precision and timing. During this period, Muslim masses gradually fell out of the grips of the Muslim leadership and Muslim elites started flocking to Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt where they were received with sympathy. Poor Muslim masses were left uncared for. This is exactly what is happening in India. The richer, English-educated Muslims are getting Brahminised. They have become imitators of upper caste Hindus as they live not in Muslim localities but in Hindu areas. The poor Muslims (they form 95% of the Muslim population) live in ghettos and being better followers of Islam, they are left high and dry. Hence they are getting killed in all anti-Muslim riots.

The seeds sown in the first half of the century in Spain started yielding results in the second half. There was no political leadership, no organization to protect Muslims and enlightened personalities to save the situation. Religious leaders knowing nothing but Islamic' theology tried their best to save the situation, but against heavy propaganda by the Govt. agencies, lures and offers to reconverts, ignorance of Islamic values by the masses and sense of inferiority nurtured in the minds of Muslim masses were too big a force to be undone by the theologians. This needed a political leadership and an organization with arms to counter, but there was none. Those who spoke of invoking the help of Muslim powers of Turkey and Egypt were feared and exposed before the authorities (by the Muslims themselves) to be condemned. Without willing fighters, other Muslim powers could not help. Those who had settled in Turkey and Egypt advised the authorities there to desist'from such a thought as otherwise atrocities on Muslims of Spain would increase. An Ahmed Shah Abdaii was needed but there was none. And the Muslim masses joined the "mainstream" of Spanish life and the mullahs finding no job for their preaching gradually left Spain. And the last batch to leave Spain consisted of the diehard mullahs in 1612

In India also the political leadership of the Muslims became a tail of the Hindu parties led by the upper castes. Only the theological leadership like that of Moulana Hasan Ali Nadvi has tried to maintain the cultural identity of the Indian Muslims.

This "Spanish experiment" is being tried with greater energy and efficiency in India. Urdu, which is as Islamic in India as Arabic was in Spain, is being eased out. Muslims are voluntarily holding on to madrasas. English-educated richer Muslims are away from the Muslim masses. We saw this at the Tablighe Jamat International conference held in Bangalore (DV, March 15, 1985). They are not going to Muslim countries, but are taking refuge in their psychological and physical seclusion. Any move to organise them to protect the Muslim life and property is branded as communal. Any Muslim flirting, if not supporting the upper castes, is called a "nationalist Muslim". The gulf between the Muslim masses and educated rich Muslims is widening every day. Mass killing of Muslims is considered something natural by the Muslim leadership itself. Whenever it is raised at international Islamic platforms such actions are called interference in the internal affairs of India. Muslims history is deleted from the syllabus. Names of Muslims who died for India are avoided. A great martyr who died for India like Tippu Sultan is unknown to youngsters, whereas the name of Tantia Tope, who fought not for India but for his pension, and Jhansi Laxmi Bai, who fought for her adopted son's heirship to the throne, is brought on the lips of every Indian. No Muslim gets awards for his contribution to science, medicine, music, art or gallantry. Even those who fought from the ranks of the ruling Congress Party like Moulana Azad, Kidwai, Syed Mahmood, Humayun Kabir etc. do not have a road or extension named after them. But there are half-a-dozen in the names of each upper caste leaders in our towns and cities. History is being re-written. ("Falsifying Indian History", DV editorial, April 16, 1985). Muslims are killed daily and their houses and shops burnt. The doors of the Army, police and administration are closed to them. And yet Muslim organizations to protect Islam are coming up like mushrooms. Everybody wants to protect Islam and nobody wants to protect Muslims. We are really worried.

A study of the Ruling Class policies reveals that it has great similarity with the one followed by Ferdinand and Isabelle in Spain. The only difference is that the Hindu upper castes are more sharp and sophisticated because of the limitations imposed in the 20th century by the checks exercisable by the United Nations Human Rights Charter and international public opinion.

The systematic and daily anti-Muslim riots resulting in loss of life and property, and above all the sense of fear in the hearts of every Muslim, elimination of the martial Muslims from the Defence, paramilitary and police forces and brahminising of these forces, closing the doors of appointments in Govt. services and public undertakings, Brahminisation of education and mass.media like radio, TV and advertisement, elimination of Urdu as official language from those areas which form the presentday States of Punjab, Haryana, UP, Bihar, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, Andhra Pradhesh and Karnataka overnight in 1947-48, gradual closing of Urdu schools are all examples of positive anti-Muslim policies.

On the brahminical psychological warfare side comes the cries of Personal Law amendment, now diluted as common civil code, greatness of the Indian (Hindu) culture, projection of notorious anti-Muslim personalities like "Mahatma" Gandhi, B. G. Tilak, Madan Mohan Malaviya, Veer Savarkar, Lala Laipat Rai as heroes of India to belittle the contribution of Muslims for the development and progress of the country, re-writing of Indian history, describing Muslim professions like beef-selling as a sin and glorifying cow protection policies, introduction of mechanical slaughter of animals to throw out of job butchers, declaration of import and export business carried on by Muslims as smuggling are policies through which vulnerable Indian masses are misguided, resulting in a psychological anti-Muslim bias. Muslim electoral constituencies are divided horizontally and vertically so that they don't have an effective voting power anywhere and thrusting upon them ultra-secular Muslim leaders who have started worshipping Hindu idols and such scenes being systematically televised. Unfortunately Muslim leaders, who are dejected with the Govt., repose much confidence in Hindu masses and hope to secure their help ignoring the fact that the poor Hindu (Dalit) masses are as much victims of such a propaganda. And as on this day only seeds are being sown. The harvest is yet to come. When the harvest reason comes, what will be harvested in India is repetition of Spain, unless the Muslims resort to counter measures soon.

It is high time the Muslim/ intelligentsia rises to the occasion to undo the repetition of the history of Spain in India. Islam has always been protected by the Muslim masses and not by the classes. Rich Muslims, who are not even 5% of the Muslim population (with minor exceptions) are joining the upper caste exploiters. They may talk of Islam but they have forgotten the fellow Muslims. Please note: religion does not protect its followers, but followers protect the religion. Remember if Islam has to be saved in India, Muslims have to be saved

'Rats' slur writer is facing Muslim race case

An Italian author who wrote an attack on Muslims, calling their culture rotten and backward and saying "the sons of Allah are multiplying like rats", was accused of inciting racial hatred in Paris. Oriana Fallaci, 73, an Italian journalist now living in New York, was unable to attend the court hearing as she has cancer.

She first published her polemic against Islam, titled The Rage and the Pride, in an Italian newspaper but such was its impact that it was turned into a best-selling book.

If successful, the case against her will set a precedent in French law. Up to now, only the public prosecutor or official anti-racist associations have been allowed to bring cases alleging incitement to racial hatred. Ms Fallaci's accusers are 11 young Muslim men from the Lyons suburbs.

"When a victim is clearly designated, the sons of Allah, why should I, a Muslim, not feel victimised?" asked their lawyer, Gilles Devers. "I have as strong a claim as the associations." Ms Fallaci's lawyers, and those of her French publisher, Plon, said allowing individuals to bring such cases would create a class of "thought police" tying up writers with endless frivolous lawsuits. They also argued that victims must suffer an expressly targeted prejudice. A similar case against Ms Fallaci was brought by French anti-racist associations last year but was rejected on technicalities. The judgment on the latest case will be heard next month. She renowned as one of the few western women to have interviewed the Ayatollah Khomneini, the late Iranian revolutionary leader, and for ripping off her chador - the all-covering garment she was obliged to wear -at the end of the encounter.

2. Our Actions: Wasted by committing them without sincerity.

3. Our Wealth: Wasted by using on things that will not bring us reward from Allah. We waste our money, our status, our authority, on things which have no benefit in this life or in the أkhirah (hereafter).

4. Our Hearts: Wasted because they are empty from the love of Allah, and the feeling of longing to go to Him, and a feeling of peace and contentment. In it's place, our hearts are filled with something or someone else.

5. Our Bodies: Wasted because we don't use them in ibadah (worship) and service of Allah.

6. Our Love: Our emotional love is misdirected, not towards Allah, but towards something/someone else

7. Our Time: Wasted, not used properly, to compensate for that which has passed, by doing what is righteous to make up for past deeds.

8. Our Intellect: Wasted on things that are not beneficial, that are detrimental to society and the individual, not in contemplation or reflection.

9. Our Service: Wasted in service of someone who will not bring us closer to Allah, or benefit in Dunyم.

10. Our Zikr (Remembrance of Allah): Wasted, because it does not effect us or our hearts.

REWARDS OF HUMILITY

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) has said; “One who has attained humility for Allah, Allah exalts him.” This means that the one who annihilates himself, through this blessing, Allah makes him great in the eyes of people, and he who thinks himself great, Allah drops and disgraces him to such an extent that he becomes worse than animals. If Allah drops and disgraces a person, who can give him high stages and honour him? The one who Allah dishonours, who can ever elevate him?

A servant who thinks himself great, is not great in reality because he was created from his father’s sperm and mother’s menstruation blood.

So friends, the one whom Allah drops, who can ever raise him? Just think of Allah’s might and power.

An elephant which is a creation of Allah, wraps a human in it’s trunk and flings him, then even the world’s greatest heavy weight champion and wrestler will also fall. If this is the might and power of a creation of Allah then what must be the power of the Creator? So if Allah does not honour and protect anyone, then he is knocked around from pillar to post and is degraded.

Pride cannot be concealed. If someone has pride, it shows out in every aspect of his life, be it in walking, talking, eating or sleeping. People too think him unworthy and proud. Shaytمn puts these thoughts in his heart, that no one appreciates me, my piety, my knowledge and actions. There is no one like me. Such a person who thinks great of himself is low and degraded in people’s eyes. This pride is a very dangerous disease.

Therefore, do not show too much humility to a proud person (although inside your heart, don’t think him degraded, but think yourself lowly and degraded) otherwise his disease of pride will increase.

THE TREATMENT OF PRIDE WITH EXTERNAL PRIDE

When King Taimur Lang was ruling, he was crippled with one leg. When sitting, he had to sit spreading the crippled leg out in front of him. One day, while sitting in this position, Allمma Taftazمni ® arrived. He too sat down in a similar manner, spreading his leg in front of him in the direction of the king. The king asked him as to why he was sitting with his leg spread out, since he himself is helpless, so he has to sit in this way.

The Allمmah replied; “I feel ashamed that an ignorant person should spread his leg towards me. In this way my knowledge of Deen is disgraced therefore I am sitting in this manner.”

This is how the rulers were treated. The Ulamم were absolutely independent of them.

Another king came to a pious person who was lying down. He did not ever sit up for the king. Instead, he just shook hands while in his reclining position. The kings attendant was a shia. He asked the pious person, “Since when have you learned to sleep with your legs out stretched?” The saint replied, “From the time I have held my hands back, have I spread my legs out. I do not spread my hands in front of Allah’s creations and I am independent of the flattery of the creation.”

THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUTH:

In all the phases of history, youth were the secret strength of their nations, the pillars of their progress, the cause of their honour and esteem, the tools of their future and the most important asset and useful capital in their possession.

This is due to the fact that the youth are known for their spirit of courage, boldness and dedication, their purity of mind and intellect and their excess power and strength.

These factors make them more capable to construct, lead and serve a nation.

The enemies of Allah know the importance of the youth and the role they play in the construction of a nation. Hence, they have schemed various ways to eliminate and destroy this asset, to poison the thinking and minds of the youth and to plant the spirit of unsteadiness and moral depravity in their lives.

Some of the despicable ways in which they achieve their objectives are as follows:

To employ every possible means to stimulate and excite the natural impulse in man through:-

Colourful, captivating and stimulating pictorial illustrations and images.

Female and male actors and sport-players whom the masses have accepted in order to frame their minds in such a manner that they can be easily influenced and to give them by means of these actors and sport-layers a pattern and model of life.

Magazines which deal with women employed in the field of fashion, art, cinemas, sports and beauty.

Senseless music which is directed to degrade man.

Collections of poetry which decreases the soul to sense its' natural feelings.

Imaginary and fictitious love stories and narratives.

movies and films which the agents of the Jews produce to destroy the good character of people so that it could become easy for them to rule the world.

Amusement centres so that the youth may waste their precious time until they become worthless individuals.

There follows a list of things that can be done in one minute, by the permission of Allaah:

1. In one minute you can recite Soorat al-Faatihah 3 times, reciting rapidly and silently. Some scholars said that the reward for reading al-Faatihah is more than 600 hasanahs, so if you read it 3 times you will, by the permission of Allaah, gain more than 1800 hasanahs – all of that in one minute.

2. In one minute you can recite Soorat al-Ikhlaas (Qul Huwa Allaahu Ahad) 20 times, reciting rapidly and silently. Reciting it once is equivalent to one-third of the Qur’aan. If you read it 20 times it is equivalent to reading the Qur’aan 7 times. If you read it 20 times in one minute each day, you will have read it 600 times in one month, and 7200 times in one year, which will be equal in reward to reading the Qur’aan 2400 times.

3. You can read one page of the Book of Allaah in one minute.

4. You can memorize a short aayah of the Book of Allaah in one minute.

5. In one minute you can say Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer (There is no god except Allaah alone with no partner; to Him be dominion and praise, and He is Able to do all things) – 20 times. The reward for saying this is like freeing 8 slaves for the sake of Allaah from among the sons of Ismaa’eel.

6. In one minute you can say Subhaan Allaahi wa bi hamdihi (Glory and praise be to Allaah) 100 times. Whoever says that in one day will be forgiven for his sins even if they are like the foam of the sea.

7. In one minute you can say Subhaan Allaahi wa bi hamdihi Subhaan Allaah il-‘Azeem (Glory and praise be to Allaah, glory be to Allaah the Almighty) 50 times. These are two phrases which are light on the lips, heavy in the balance and beloved to the Most Merciful, as was narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim.

8. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When I say ‘Subhaan Allaah, wa’l-hamdu Lillah, wa laa ilaah ill-Allaah, wa Allaahu akbar (Glory be to Allaah, praise be to Allaah, there is no god except Allaah, and Allaah is Most Great)’, this is more beloved to me than all that the sun rises upon.” (Narrated by Muslim). In one minute, you can say all of these words more than 18 times. These words are the most beloved words to Allaah, the best of words, and they weigh heavily in the balance of good deeds, as was narrated in the saheeh ahaadeeth.

9. In one minute you can say, Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa Billaah (there is no strength and no power except with Allaah) more than 40 times. This is one of the treasures of Paradise, as was narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim. They are a means of putting up with difficulties and of aiming to achieve great things.

10. In one minute you can say Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah approximately 50 times. This is the greatest word, for it is the word of Tawheed, the good word, the word that stands firm. If these are the last words of a person, he will enter Paradise, and there are other reports which indicate how great these words are.

11. In one minute you can say Subhaan Allaah wa bi hamdih, ‘adada khalqihi, wa ridaa nafsihi, wazinata ‘arshihi, wa midaada kalimaatihi (Glory and praise be to Allaah, as much as the number of His creation, as much as pleases Him, as much as the weight of His Throne and as much as the ink of His words) more than 15 times. This words bring many more times the reward for other forms of tasbeeh and dhikr, as was reported in saheeh ahaadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

12. In one minute you can seek the forgiveness of Allaah more than 100 times by saying “Astaghfir-Allaah (I seek the forgiveness of Allaah). The virtues of seeking forgiveness are no secret, for it is the means of attaining forgiveness and entering Paradise, and it is the means of being granted a good life, increasing one’s strength, warding off disasters, making things easier, bringing rain and increasing one’s wealth and children.

13. You can say a few brief and concise words in one minute, and Allaah may bring about some good through them that you could never imagine.

14. In one minute you can send blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) 50 times by saying Sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam (May Allaah bless him and grant him peace). In return Allaah will send blessings upon you 500 hundred times because one blessing brings ten like it.

15. In one minute you can motivate your heart to give thanks to Allaah, to love Him, to fear Him, to put hope in Him, to long for Him, and thus travel through the stages of ‘uboodiyyah (total enslavement to Allaah). You could do this when you are lying on your bed or walking in the street.

16. In one minute you can read more than two pages of a useful book that is easy to understand.

17. In one minute you can uphold the ties of kinship by calling a relative on the phone.

18. You can raise your hands and recite any du’aa’ you wish from the books of du’aa’, in one minute.

19. You can say salaams to and shake hands with a number of people in one minute.

20. You can forbid an evil action in one minute.

21. You can enjoin something good in one minute.

22. You can offer sincere advice to a brother in one minute.

23. You can console someone who is depressed in one minute.

24. You can remove something harmful from the road in one minute.

25. Making the most of one minute motivates you to make the most of other periods that would otherwise be wasted.

-Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "He who recites the Qur'an well and clearly is equal in rank to the Angels who record creation's deeds. These Angels are gracious, honourable and of lofty rank. He who finds difficulty in reciting the Qur'an will obtain a double reward."

-A person whose breast is devoid of the Qur'an (i.e. has not learnt anything of the Qur'an Majeed) is like a desolate house.

-Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "A person who recites one harf (letter) of the Qur'an, obtains one virtue; each virtue multiplies to ten virtues. I am not saying that (ALM) is one harf. But, Alif (A) in it is one harf; the Laam (L) in it is one harf and the Meem (M) in it is one harf."

(Tirmidhi, Darimi).

-Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "On the day of Qiyaamah(Resurrection) a crown of such brilliance will be placed on the heads of the parents of one who learnt the Qur'an and practised on its laws, that its glitter will outshine the brilliance of the sun which penetrates your houses. What then do you think will be the position of the one who himself learnt the Qur'an and acted in accordance with it?"

(Ahmad, Abu Dawud).

-Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "He who recites the Qur'an, memorizes it,accepts its halal (lawful things) as halal and haram (forbidden things) as haram (i.e. his beliefs in these matters are correct), Allah Ta'ala will enter him to Jannat and accept his intercession on behalf of ten such persons of his family upon whom entry into Janhannum has become incumbent (i.e. Allah Ta'ala will forgive them because of his intercession)."

(Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, Darimi).

-Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Continue reciting the Qur'an because on the Day of Qiyaamah it will appear as an intercessor for the reciter."

(Muslim).

-Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "He who listens to even a single aayat (being recited by another) obtains such a virtue which perpetually multiplies (it increases in thawaab continuously). The one who recited the aayat will on the Day of Qiyaamah find the recited aayat in the form of a Noor (which will be of greater value and significance than the virtue which accrued to the one who had listened to the recitation)."

-Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The best of you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it."

(Bukhari).

-Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "On the Day of Qiyaamah the Qur'an will petition Allah to cloak the one who had recited it with garments of honour and respect. A crown of honour will then be placed on the head of the reciter. The Qur'an will then petition Allah Ta'ala to shower His pleasure on the reciter. Allah will then become pleased with him. The reciter will then be asked to recite the Qur'an, thereby attaining higher ranks of elevation. In reward for each aayat a virtue will accrue to him."

(Tirmidhi, Ibn Khuzaimah).

-Continue climbing (higher and higher in rank) with your recitation in the same way as you recited with care and concern on earth. Your abode (of residing) is located (at that rank attained) with the last aayat recited.

<b>Differening, Its permissible and prohibited</b>

<b>SETTING THE STANDARD</b>

Shaykh Ibn Ibraaheem- rahimahullaah- (d. 1389H) said: "Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah [the Saved Sect] have an usool (set of fundamentals) which is firmly based upon proofs; and upon this are built the furoo' (subsidiary issues)."1

<b>GUIDELINES REGARDING DIFFERENCES</b>

Imaam as-Sa'dee (d. 1376H)- rahimahullaah - said: "Differences of opinions that occur between the [scholars] of the Ummah are from two angles:

Firstly:

Differences in the furoo' (subsidiary issues), and in issues of ijtihaad (qualified striving to reach the truth); such that when a person - whether it is a judge, muftee, writer, or teacher - strives to arrive at a ruling and is correct, he is rewarded two-fold. But if he strives and is mistaken, then he is rewarded once.

Second:

Differences in matters of usool (fundamentals); such as the issues related to Allaah's Attributes, al-Qadr (Predestination and Pre-Decree), Eemaan (faith), and their like. These cause those who oppose [such usool] to be regarded as deviants, because of them opposing the proofs from the Book and the Sunnah, and that which the Salafus-Saalih (Pious Predecessors) - the Companions and those who followed them in goodness - were agreed upon."2

<b>THE PERMISSIBLE TYPE OF DIFFERING</b>

Shaykh Ibn al-'Uthaymeen - hafidhahullaah - said: "This sect [i.e. the Saved-Sect] unites upon the truth, even if its people do have differences of opinion between themselves. However, these differences do not harm their [unity], nor cause them to declare each other as deviants. Rather, their hearts are still united, even when these difference of opinion occur in matters linked to the 'aqeedoh (beliefs); such as did the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam see his Lord with his eyes, or did he not see him [with his eyes]? Or is the punishment in the grave to the body and the soul, or just to the soul only? Or other such issues. This is because these issues are subsidiary issues connected with the usool, they are not in the actual usool itself. So they do not declare each other as being deviants when they differ in such matters - contrary to what the innovators do."3

<b>THE PROHIBITED TYPE OF DIFFERING</b>

Ibn Taymiyyah (d.728H) - rahimahullaah - said:

"The Scholars - from the Companions, the Taabi'een, and those who came after them - when they differed in any matter, then they followed the command of Allaah - the Most High - in His saying: "If you differ in anything amongst yourselves then refer it back to Allaah and His Messenger, if you do truly believe in Allaah and the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination." [soorah an-Nisaa 4:59].

So they would discuss concerning the issue; discuss, consult and sincerely advise. Sometimes they would differ in matters linked to the 'aqeedah, as well as issues linked to actions, yet along with such differences, they still preserved the unity and brotherhood. Yes, whosoever opposes the clear Book and the beneficial Sunnah, or that which the Pious Predecessors of this Ummah had Ijmaa' (consensus) upon, opposing it without a justifiable excuse, then such a person has acted with the action of the Innovators ...

As regards differing in matters of rulings and actions, then the examples are too many to be recorded. So if every Muslim who differed in something were to be boycotted and abandoned, then no unity or brotherhood would ever remain. And Abu Bakr and 'Umar radiallaahu 'anhumaa - who were the best of the Muslims - used to differ in matters, but they did not intend except good. And the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam said to his Companions on the day of [the expedition to] Banu Quraydhah: "Let none of you pray 'Asr except when you reach Bonu Quraydhah." So the time for the 'Asr Prayer came during the journey, so one group amongst them said: We will not pray until we reach Banu Quraydhah; so they missed the actual time for 'Asr. The other group said: We will not miss it by delaying the Prayer; so they prayed along the way. And the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam did not criticise any of the two groups. This is related by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim, from Ibn 'Umar.4 So this differing was in a matter related to rulings and actions, not in the important usool (fundamantels) itself." 5

Corinthians 14:34-35}. The Quraan says Women Can argue with the

4. In the Bible, divorced Women are Labeled as an Adulteress,

while men are not {Matthew 5:31-32}. The Quraan does Not have

Biblical double standards {Quraan 30:21}

5. In The Bible, Widows and Sisters do Not Inherit Any

Property or Wealth, Only men do {Numbers 27:1-11} The Quraan

Abolished this male greediness {Quraan 4:22} and God Protects All.

6. The Bible Allows Multiple Wives {I Kings 11:3} In The

Quraan, God limits the number to 4 only under certain situations

(with the Wife's permission) and Prefers you Marry Only One Wife

{Quraan 4:3} The Quraan gives the Woman the Right to Choose who to

Marry.

7. "If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be

married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the

girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for

he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives"

{Deuteronomy 22:28-30}

One must ask a simple question here, who is really punished, the

man who raped the woman or the woman who was raped? According to

the Bible, you have to spend the Rest of Your Life with the man who

Raped You.

The Prophet Muhammad Says {Volume 9, Book 86, Number 101} Narrated

by Aisha:" It is essential to have the consent of a virgin (for the

marriage)".

Would the Christian men Reading this prefer the Women they know to

Be Christian or Muslim?

8. The Bible also asks Women to wear veils as in Islam {I

Corinthians 11:3-10}, this lowers the chance of rape, (God Forbid),

9. Women were given rights to Vote less than a 100 years ago

in the (US), while the Quraan (42:38) gave Women Voting rights

almost 1,400 years ago.

10. Islam has unconfined Women and has given them the human right

to reach for the sky. There have been Muslim Women Presidents

through out the centuries, but to this date, the oppressive

mentality of the men in the Western U.S.A. has stopped any Women

from becoming Presidents in predominately Christian countries,

while the Muslim countries have voted for and elected Female

Presidents.
