Maryam : An Exemplary Muslim Woman
Posted by: mertfaruk - 02-21-2005, 05:08 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

The Qur'an, the only true guidance for humanity, was revealed so that people would know how to deal with all of the situations that they may encounter while in this world. In addition, the Sunnah (example) of our Prophet (saas) shows how to implement its teachings into one's life. Allah even made it possible for people to understand how to live the Qur'an's morality by giving examples from the Prophets' and other Muslims' lives: "There is an excellent example in them for you to follow, that is for those whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day. But if anyone turns away, Allah is the Rich Beyond Need, the Praiseworthy" (Surat al-Mumtahana: 6) and "We have sent down Clear Signs to you, the example of those who passed away before you, and an admonition for those who guard against evil" (Surat an-Nur: 34). In these verses, He reminds sincere Muslims, who hope for the best in Hereafter, that the people presented in the Qur'an serve as good examples and guidance for them.

In this book, we deal with the common woman's character as seen in unbelieving societies and analyze how this erroneous character became established. In addition, we explore Maryam's character, whom Allah raised above all other women, and thereby define the ideal Muslim woman's character. As a result of this analysis, we will see that this superiority is only in terms of faith, fear and respect of Allah, and fine character, and that every man or woman who does good deeds will be justly rewarded with Allah's good pleasure, mercy, and Paradise, as mentioned bellow: "Anyone, male or female, who does right actions and believes, will enter the Garden. They will not be wronged by so much as the tiniest speck" (Surat an-Nisa': 124).

  You R Divorced Divorced Divorced
Posted by: Muslimah - 02-19-2005, 09:44 AM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

Bismillah

You are divorced, divorced, divorced.....

AMMAN (AFP) - A budding romance between a Jordanian man and woman turned

into an ugly public divorce when the couple found out that they were in

fact man and wife, state media reported.

Separated for several months, boredom and chance briefly re-united Bakr

Melhem and his wife Sanaa in an Internet chat room, the official Petra

news agency said.

Bakr, who passed himself off as Adnan, fell head over heels for Sanaa,

who signed off as Jamila (beautiful) and described herself as a

cultured, unmarried woman -- a devout Muslim whose hobby was reading,

Petra said.

Cyber love blossomed between the pair for three months and soon they

were making wedding plans. To pledge their troth in person, they agreed

to meet in the flesh near a bus depot in the town of Zarqa, northeast of

Amman.

The shock of finding out their true identities was too much for the pair.

Upon seeing Sanaa-alias-Jamila, Bakr-alias-Adnan turned white and

screamed at the top of his lungs: "You are divorced, divorced, divorced"

-- the traditional manner of officially ending a marriage in Islam.

"You are a liar," Sanaa retorted before fainting, the agency said.

  Original Sin
Posted by: ronniv93 - 02-15-2005, 04:18 PM - Forum: Discussion of Beliefs - Replies (6)

Moving the discussion here, lifutushi.

Quote:Original sin.

"Original sin" is frequently and properly used to denote only the moral corruption of their whole nature inherited by all men from Adam. This inherited moral corruption consists in, (1) the loss of original righteousness; and (2) the presence of a constant proneness to evil, which is the root and origin of all actual sin.

It influences and depraves the whole man, and its tendency is still downward to deeper and deeper corruption, there remaining no recuperative element in the soul. It is a total depravity, and it is also universally inherited by all the natural descendants of Adam (Rom. 3:10-23; 5:12-21; 8:7).

If you just look around the world, you can see that things aren't getting better over time. People become more and more corrupt and evil as time goes by.

Anyway, as to those who lived before Jesus: There were the Jews and the Gentiles; basically people were grouped this way.

We believe that even though Jesus had not appeared physically as the sacrifice for sins, God's revelation from the time of Adam and Eve onward POINTED TO Jesus. They developed faith IN the coming Messiah.

It is still all about FAITH. For without FAITH it is impossible to please God. You have to 1) Believe that He exists and 2) Believe that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. So, anyway, Jews were saved by this faith.

Now, Gentiles, those who worshipped idols and false gods.... I don't claim to be able to describe or explain how God judges each and every individual. But I *DO KNOW* that God has placed evidence of Himself throughout the earth so that EVERY MAN IS WITHOUT EXCUSE. There is enough evidence within creation to demonstrate that there is a Creator - One God of Heaven and Earth. So, to those who worshipped false gods or multipe gods... I believe they went to hell, yes.

Now, if people believed in the One God, I believe that God was able to reveal more abut Himself to those individuals so that they could come to a SAVING FAITH in Him. Because, of course, it takes more than just believing in One God to see heaven. Even the devil believes there is One God; there is nothign to brag about with that.

  Discussion on Jesus
Posted by: Muslimah - 02-14-2005, 10:00 AM - Forum: Discussion of Beliefs - Replies (11)

Bismillah

Peace ronniv

since we decided to be more strict on the topic relevancy issue, I brought my comment here.

"There is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Of course, you know that. God in 3 Persons. Each had their role. Looking at the original language of the Genesis account and the context used, it is God the Father who is referenced. Jesus had His own roles in creation as did the Holy Spirit."

This is what u said on the thread of Prophet Mohamed's (salla Allah A`lyhee wa sallam)

Thus u dont worship one god but three. Can u see what we are trying to tell u ronniv and what Quran is explaining?
