Muslim Banking |

My view of the world is rather simple: The Love of money is the root of all evil. Interest is the Seed, Fear and Pride fertilize the root. Profit and competition provide the fertile ground.
Muhammed says that one should not engage in transactions with interest, yet interest is everywhere in modern society. Every credit card transaction has the merchant paying interest to the bank.
I have traced the effect that I call The Interest Mechanism back to the Book of Leviticus. http://www.behappyandfree.com/pdf/TheInt...hanism.pdf
I spoke to some Iranian students about banking in Iran, hoping that they may have created an interest-free economy, but instead I discovered that they have also recreated the previous banking system with interest. This problem goes back thousands of years.
My question is this: Are there any Muslim communities practicing within an interest-free monetary system? It seems unlikely that there are any countries that are doing so, but I would like to know more about what is happening in any smaller communities if they exist.

Please come yourselves and invite others for as the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings be upon him, said, ‘Whomsoever guides towards a goodness, will get virtues equal to the one who performs that goodness.’ [Muslim]
You can get full directions from your place of origin to any destination around the UK by using the route planners on either www.multimap.com or www.rac.co.uk
‘May Allah bless and make fortunate that man who hears a hadeeth from us (i.e., from the Prophet (Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and then he conveys that hadeeth just as he heard it, for there are many who will receive the hadeeth after him who are more preserving and understanding of the hadeeth than the one who heard it himself the first time.’ [Tirmidhi]
For the first time ever in the English language, Shaykh Abu Yusuf Riyadh ul Haq will be delivering a series of detailed commentaries on al Tajrid al Sarih, the abridged Saheeh al-Bukhari, which is a comprehensive coverage of the blessed Sunnah of the greatest benefactor of mankind. By the grace of Allah we have this great and unique opportunity to study the words and actions of the Prophet (Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam) in the established and traditional manner as preserved and conveyed by the Predecessors through an unbroken and authentic chain of narration under the tutorage of Shaykh Abu Yusuf Riyadh ul Haq. Saheeh al-Bukhari which is widely regarded as being the most authentic book after the Book of Allah. The Saheeh of Imam Bukhari, comprising of approximately 4,400 different narrations, selected from an original collection of 600,000 is considered the pinnacle of the science of hadeeth. Each hadeeth is covered at length and an explanation given of the great wisdom behind how and why it was selected for inclusion in the Saheeh, along with its relevance to the chapter heading. Derived rulings as well as the context and circumstances surrounding the individual hadeeth are also discussed. Most importantly, lessons are drawn that aid the listener to practically implement the words of the Prophet (Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam) in his or her life.
Who was Imam Bukhari?
Imam Muhammad bin Ismaeel al Bukhari (194-254 Hijri) was born in Bukhara, modern day Uzbekistan. He saw a dream in his youth in which he was fanning the air and removing the dust and flies whilst seated in front of the noble Prophet (Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam). This was an early indication of the glorious future Allah had planned for him. Upon interpretation, he was told that he would be instrumental in removing falsehood from the ahadeeth of the noble Prophet (Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam). He is undoubtedly the greatest ever Imam of hadeeth with over 90,000 students having studied the Jami al Saheeh directly from him and over 130 commentaries of his work having been completed. In the past the Great Scholars of hadeeth used to travel for hundreds of miles for the sake of one hadeeth and yet we are getting this opportunity without all this hard work and effort. Let us not let this great opportunity go to waste. We request that you come yourselves and bring others also to learn the words of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam).

Washington Post Foreign Service
Monday, February 13, 2006; A16
COPENHAGEN, Feb. 12 -- About 25 Muslim graves in western Denmark were vandalized late Saturday night, bringing swift condemnation from Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen as tensions simmer from a Danish newspaper's publication last year of cartoons of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.
"I strongly condemn this disgraceful act, and I deeply regret the desecration of Muslim graves," Rasmussen said in a statement released by his office Sunday night. "I have made it clear that the Danish government condemns any expression or any action which offends people's religious feelings."
Ahmed Akkari, a prominent Muslim leader in Denmark, said he was "happy" that Rasmussen had issued the statement so quickly. He said that in similar cases in the past, "nothing happened." Akkari said he believed that those who vandalized the Muslim graves in the city of Esbjerg, in Jutland, west of Copenhagen, "do not represent the Danish people's general attitude."
Tensions between Muslims and ethnic Danes have been extremely high in the past two weeks as the Muhammad cartoons, which other papers have reprinted, have sparked violent protests around the world. Akkari said that Rasmussen's swift condemnation, with his promise that authorities would "bring the perpetrators to justice," was "maybe one of the positive signs" of increased awareness between the two communities.

Ruling of celebrating Valentine |

Ruling on Celebrating Valentine's Day
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-`Uthaymeen
Question: In recent times, celebration of the Valentine Day has spread, particularly among female students. It is a Christian celebration, and it is (manifested) with fully red costumes, clothing and shoes, and exchange of red roses.
We hope that you make clear for us the ruling on celebrating this holiday, and what your guidance is to Muslims in matters such as these, may Allah preserve you and guard you.
Answer: In the Name of Allah the Most Merciful the Most Beneficient
As-Salamu `alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh:
Celebrating the Valentine Day is not permissible because:
Firstly, it is an innovated holiday that has no basis in the Sharee`ah.
Secondly, it calls to love and passion.
Thirdly, it calls to keeping one’s heart busy with nonsense matters which contradict the guidance of the righteous predecessors, may Allah be pleased with them.
So it is not permissible that anything from the signs of that holiday take place on that day, whether it relates to eating, drinking, clothing, giving gifts, or other than that.
It is incumbent upon the Muslim to be proud of his religion and that he does not blindly follow every crier.
I ask Allah the Exalted that He protect Muslims from every trial, apparent and hidden, and that He give them protection and guidance.
Written by Muhammad Salih al `Uthaymeen on 5/11/1420 hijree.

Why women cry |

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?"
"Because I need to" she said.
"I don't understand," he said.
His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."
Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem
to cryfor no reason?"
"All women cry for no reason," his dad answered carelessly
The little boy , still wondering why women cry, finally asked
the old wise shaikh. "He surely knows the answer", he thought.
"Ya Shaikh! Why do women cry so easily?"
He answered: "When Allah made the woman she had to be made so
special. He made her shoulders strong enough to carry the
weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort. He gave her an
inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that comes
from her children. He gave her a hardness that allows her to keep
going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through
sickness and fatigue without complaining. He gave her the sensitivity
to loveher children under any and all circumstances, even when her
childhurts her very badly. He gave her strength to carry her
husbandthrough his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect
his heart. He gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never
hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to
standbeside him unfalteringly.
And lastly, He gave her a tear.
This is hers and only hers exclusively to use whenever she needs it.
She needs no reason, no explanation, its hers."
"You see my son, the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes
shewears, the beauty of her face, or the way she combs her
hair.Thebeauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is
the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."
The little boy got the answer and never asked the question
again.

Rally against incitement &
Islamophobia
Saturday 11th February 2006
Date: 11th February
2006
Time: 1pm –
5pm
Venue: Trafalgar Square, London.
Public figures from across the
political spectrum are expected to unite this Saturday at a rally against
Islamophobia in Trafalgar Square. The action is taking
place in the wake of the cartoon controversy.
United
Message:
“The first message we want to send
to the country is that of the legitimate voice of the Muslim community as
opposed to those that hijacked last week’s demonstration outside the Danish
embassy. We are people of peace and are trying to do our best also in
bridging
the gap between Islam and the West.
“Secondly, to Europe, the lesson from the cartoon is not that Western
newspapers come under the fold of Islamic law. It is actually that
orientalist and Islamophobic
caricatures are unacceptable, irresponsible, and lead to a more polarised
world.
Jewish leaders and figures like Bill Clinton have likened it to the
characterisation of Jews over the centuries. We know where that ended
up.
“Thirdly, to the Muslim world, we
wish to send a message of calm. It may appear to them that there is a great
Western conspiracy against their faith, but there are a large number of
people
who are on the side of reconciliation, and we hope that comes out loud and
clear
on Saturday.”

A man falling |

Assalamualikom wa RahmatuAllahu wa Barakatuhu
A man woke up early in order to pray the Fajr prayer in the masjid.
He got dressed, made his ablution and was on his way to the masjid.
On his way to the masjid, the man fell and his clothes got dirty.
He got up, brushed himself off, and headed home. At home, he
changed his clothes, made his ablution, and was, again, on his way
to the masjid. On his way to the masjid, he fell again and at the
same spot! He, again, got up, brushed himself off and headed home.
At home he, once again, changed his clothes, made his ablution and
was on his way to the masjid. On his way to the masjid, he met a
man holding a lamp. He asked the man of his identity and the man
replied
"I saw you fall twice on your way to the masjid, so I brought a
lamp so I can light your way."
The first man thanked him profusively and the two where on their
way to the masjid. Once at the masjid, the first man asked the man
with the lamp to come in and pray Fajr with him. The second man
refused. The first man asked him a couple more times and, again,
the answer was the same. The first man asked him why he did not
wish to come in and pray. he man replied
"I am Satan."
The man was shocked at this reply. Satan went on to explain,
"I saw you on your way to the masjid and it was I who made you
fall. When you went home, cleaned yourself and went back on your
way to the masjid, Allah forgave all of your sins. I made you fall
a second time, and even that did not encourage you to stay home,
but rather, you went back on your way to the masjid. Because of
that, Allah forgave all the sins of the people of your household. I
was afraid if i made you fall one more time, then Allah will
forgive the sins of the people of your village, so i made sure that
you reached the masjid safely."
So do not let Satan benefit from his actions. Do not put off a good
that you intended to do as you never know how much reward you might
recieve from the hardships you encounter while trying to achieve
that good.
