Asalamalaikum
I was actually more after what Islam says about young people who are capable of having bioligical children choosing to adopt.
<b><i>Adopting Children</i>, (<i>When you are Perfectly Fertile and Healthy</i>)?</b>
Bismillah
as salam alykom
Actually, Nasra this is what i replied to.
Dan, Zaid's case is, what the adoption ruling Ayah was revealed for.
"Call them (adopted sons) by (the names of) their fathers, that is more just with Allah. But if you know not their father's (names, call them) your brothers in faith and your freed slaves. And there is no sin on you if you make a mistake therein, except in regard to what your hearts deliberately intend. And Allah is Ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful" (Quran 33:5).
This is when Allah regulated the adoption issue.
However, Nasra u never exactly explained about the breast feeding part in your first post. This makes the question different, let us look on how Islam takes a position on this. I mean when u take a child with the intention of adoption thru breast feeding. However, in all cases they still cannt take the father's name according to the Ayah for the same purpose, which is preserving lineage, since still the child will be possibly having other brothers/sisters from the original parents.
More on this issue, of course breast feeing a baby makes him/her a brother /sister to the biological child with whom he shared the breast, makes him/her also a brother /sister to the rest of children and thus, non marriagebale. However, his/her brother /sister is not a mahram to other children.
Did u get this? Actually because me too I have the same situation.
In detail, we have a cousin who breast fed with my sister. He and his brother are non marriageble to my sister. He is non marriabge to me.
His brother is marrigable to me.
Hope this is clearer.
