Let us revive deserted worships
#11

as salam alykom

of course everything we do is worship.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok these are the Ayahs for Itekaf (seclusion):

And (remember) when We made the House (the Ka'bah at Makkah) a place of resort for mankind and a place of safety. And take you (people) the Maqam (place) of Ibrahim (Abraham) [or the stone on which Ibrahim (Abraham) stood while he was building the Ka'bah] as a place of prayer (for some of your prayers, e.g. two Rak'at after the Tawaf of the Ka'bah at Makkah), and We commanded Ibrahim (Abraham) and Isma'il (Ishmael) that they should purify My House (the Ka'bah at Makkah) for those who are circumambulating it, or staying (I'tikaf), or bowing or prostrating themselves (there, in prayer). (2:125)

It is made lawful for you to have sexual relations with your wives on the night of As-Saum (the fasts). They are Libas [i.e. body cover, or screen, or Sakan, (i.e. you enjoy the pleasure of living with her), for you and you are the same for them. Allah knows that you used to deceive yourselves, so He turned to you (accepted your repentance) and forgave you. So now have sexual relations with them and seek that which Allah has ordained for you (offspring), and eat and drink until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night), then complete your Saum (fast) till the nightfall. And do not have sexual relations with them (your wives) while you are in I'tikaf (i.e. confining oneself in a mosque for prayers and invocations leaving the worldly activities) in the mosques. These are the limits (set) by Allah, so approach them not. Thus does Allah make clear His Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, revelations, verses, laws, legal and illegal things, Allah's set limits, orders, etc.) to mankind that they may become muttaqun (the pious). (2:187)

" Verily! Those who disbelieve and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and from Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) which We have made (open) to (all) men, the dweller in it and the visitor from the country are equal there [as regards its sanctity and pilgrimage (Hajj and 'Umrah)]. And whoever inclines to evil actions therein or to do wrong (i.e. practise polytheism and leave Islamic Monotheism), him We shall cause to taste a painful torment. (22:25)

Later Insh aAllah will bring hadeeth and more info, hope someone starts searching and shares the knowledge. This can really turn into something very beneficial and remain as sada`a jaria for the poster

Pondering in Allah's creation is itself Ibadah for the most important Ibadah is to establish Allah's oneness. And one of the ways to know that is to ponder on His creation. Allah says in Aal-Imran surah:"199. Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day,- there are indeed Signs for men of understanding,- "

and in Sûrat Al-Ghâshiyah (The Overwhelming) LXXXVIII : " 17. Do they not look at the camels, how they are created?

18. And at the heaven, how it is raised?

19. And at the mountains, how they are rooted (and fixed firm)?

20. And at the earth, how it is outspread?"

And in Sûrat Adh-Dhâriyât (The Winds that Scatter) LI:"21. And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see?"

"Narrated under the authority of Thawban that the Messenger salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam said: An ill visitor remains surrounded with ripe fruit of Jannah till he/she departs the place." (reported by Ahmed)

"Narrated under the authority of Baraa Bin A`azeb that the Messenger salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam commanded us to do seven acts and forbade us to do seven. He commanded us to visit the ill, follow the funerals, tashmeet (say to the sneezer may Allah bestow mercy on you), accept food invitation, spread peace, support one who is under unjust, and fulfill the oath. He forbade us (men) to wear gold rings, using silver cups for drinks or food, riding over silk lined saddles, and for men to wear silk or satin made clothes" (reported by Bukhari)

How many of you do read the quran in full every month?

Unfortunately it is a deserted worship although it is a very important one.

Usually most people do read it in full during the month of Ramadan doing one Juzu/day.

Before getting into the importance and reward of this worship, to make it easy and be able to start inserting reading Quran into your daily schedule. I have a suggestion. If u have a Quran copy that places the Juzu into 20 pages like most copies are now. U may simply read only 4 pages, just 4 pages after each prayer. Who does not have 10 minutes after each prayer. Even if you are at work. No one works all the time, u do get up to use the toillet, get coffee, talk to a co worker....etc. Just allocate 10 minutes after each prayer for this. Sobhan Allah, by this u will be able to develop the habit of reading a Juzu/ day.

You will do a complete read by the end of the month and feel sooo different.

Trying to identify Ayahs that encourage reading Quran will take like a full forum. Therefore, Insh a Allah I will just post one or two coupled with also 2 hadeeth or more.

<b>"And when you (Muhammad) recite the Qur'an, We put between you and those who believe not in the Hereafter, an invisible veil (or screen their hearts, so they hear or understand it not)." (Quran 17:45)
</b>

"And the Messenger (Muhammad) will say: "O my Lord! Verily, my people deserted this Qur'an (neither listened to it, nor acted on its laws and orders)." (Quran 25:30)

We seek refuge to Allah from being among those who desert Quran.

As for hadeeth look at this one:

<b>Narrated under the authority of Ibn Mas`oud that the Messenger of Allah salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam said: One who reads one letter from the book of Allah shall receive a hasana (reward) and a hasana equals ten folds. I do not say alef lam meem is a letter, but rather alef is a letter, lam is a letter and meem is a letter" (Reported by Termidhi)
</b>

<b>Narrated under the authority of Abi Horaira said: The house expands to accomodate its residence, angles come into the house, devils deserts it, and its good becomes abudance just because Quran is recited in the house. While the house becomes tight on its residence, angles deserte it, devils reside into it and its good decreases when Quran is not recited in it" (reported by Sunnan Daramy)
</b>

<b>Narrated under the authority of Abi Mousa Al Ash`ari that the Messenger salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam said: The example of the believer who reads (recits) the Quran is like the Utruja (a kind of fruit which was not exaclty identified but the closest to the description would be CITRON APAM’S Apple) which is characteristic of delicious taste and nice odor. While the example of the believer who does not read the Quran is like the date which tastes good but has no odor. The example of the evil doer, sinners, wicked (fajer) who reads the Quran is like the basil which has good scent but of a bitter taste while the fajer who does not read the Quran is like the colocynth which is of a bitter taste with no odor" (reported by Ahmed)
</b>

Make up your minds brothers and sisters and see which category you want to fit in.
