as salam alykom welcome back home Intuition so your field trip is over Alhamdulelah. may be the thread is even going again off topic. but I will just make this comment. Dont regret that u gave salam to someone, dont stop and observe, give it to her again, we never treat people the way they treat us but we rather deal with Allah. So just let always Allah be your aim, by giving it to her again u r expressing a Muslim attitude, she will learn Insh aAllah

As for the nationalism issue, it is sooooo manifest that is why Islamic correct education is becoming a necessity to teach people that our ID is Muslims.

I mean even among Arabs, that is what they teach children in schools here. I was discussing with a mother telling her they teach them what the occupation did to us like more 200 years ago, and we actually establishing it. We were one area, England and France came to divide us, not only this, but also makes Arabic as a language a second class thing. Like it is being from the elite if u dont speak or write good Arabic but do so with English and French.

As Salam alaikum

In order to ease my heart, I started to just assume that someone did not hear me if they do not return my salam. I go so far as to wonder if maybe they are deaf. I do this so I do not feel any animosity which I feel wears away my iman.

If I still feel hurt or anger, I pray for them. I try to really mean it and ask for really wonderful things for them like I would want for myself (jennah, forgiveness, etc..). Alhamdulillah, I found that this keeps these ills feelings away. If we feel this way, it will be too hard to unite as an ummah.

(Alhamdulillah, Intuition has returned safely!)

Asalamalaikum

Dan Masha'Allah.

Maybe it could just be that they are not aware of the etiquettes of Salam and how important it is to say it and return it. Allah knows best.

Insha'Allah I won't let anybody let them drag me to become what I think is subhanaAllah displeasing to Allah.

Muslimah when someone looks like they are at my age. I feel comfortable going up to them and asking them whats up. But that woman looked older than my Mom.

You know a few weeks ago, something happened to me

This old man mashaAllah I think he was 100 or atleast over his 90's I was going out of a shop and I heard someone walking behind me. I turned around and it was masha'Allah an old man. As soon as I turned to him (not knowing whats behind me), he said in a loud voice 'Asalamalaikum warah matulahi wabarakatu". I returned the Salam, then I saw that he was deaf subanaAllah. Quickly after he gave me the salam, he turned his back and went his way. And he said to me May Allah bless you. When he gave me the salam like that. I honestly felt like as though he throwed a glass of full Imaan and Noor in my face. I wanted to ask him if he needed any help with something and he said no " I was just saying salam". Did you people notice how people who fear Allah never age fast? And they always have their senses and they are mentally still intact . Most of the time I have seen this trait in only people who fear Allah and who practise their Islam. And noooo it's not off topic lol It somehow links if you've been following me closely insha'allah.

I am sorry if I am talking about too many different things all at once.

Insha'Allah if I said anything that Is not beneficial May Allah have his mercy upon me.

and alhamdulilah it's good to be Back!! Man did yiou guys get a break from my silly posts or what.

Thanks for the kind words both of you. JZK

Mash aAllah Dan, u r applying this Ayah:

"who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinoon (the good doers)." (Quran 3:134) The Muhsinoon here are those who actually do good to those who harmed them.

It's wrong to not let her wear something which she feels will prevent anyone from looking or lusting at her beauty.

As far as I understand she was allowed already to wear a uniform like thing which is wide enough to cover her perfectly. I also understand that wearing a manteau or what we call in Egypt Abayia (Jilbab for most people here on the board) is the ideal dress for a woman, however, I am not sure if she is doing it from an Islamic or cultural perspective.

Well I don't think that I welcomed u before brother Thomas, welcome to the board.

Intuition that was very touching really, Jazaky Allah for this. Subhan Allah yes those people with Iman and who are always reciting the Holy Quran look young and there is a kind of light in their face Subhan Allah, and they never forget, may Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala accept us as one of these and preserve our mind from forgetting and astraying.
