Reasons For Wearing The Hijab
#31

Assalamu aleikum sisters,

'Being chaste is one of the most beautiful aspect that islam stresses and teaches to be followed.'

Yes sister Intuition you are so right. May we always bear that in mind and close to our hearts, and inshaAllah by doing so staying steady on the Sirat al Mustaqim.

Sister I love you too for the sake of Allah, and all you other sisters that only are names on the web, but the sisterhood is so strong in Islam so it reaches anyway beyond this forum of letters. Since we share the most fundamentals of spiritual beliefs, it does not stop by words that can be read on the screen.

assalaam wa 'alaikum,

sorry about my late contribution...i apologize again.so far i LOVE all the posts that were sent by our sisters concerning this very important issue..'the reasons for wearing the hijaab'.i have been wearing the hijaab since i was a baby, and i must thank my parents sincerely for bringing me up in wearing the hijaab at all times.i LOVE wearing it and it really does display one's chastity.i get a feeling of safety and joy when i wear the hijaab.there are some women i know who really don't llike wearing it, just because sometimes it creates a humid atmosphere, but as one of you have said, i rather bear the heat of this world than that of the hereafter.in my community and among the members of my family, i try to inform them of the importance and rewards of wearing the beautiful hijaab and hope that insha allaah my effort would be successful only for the sake of allaah and our religion.

i do have some concerns though concerning the niqaab.i really love seeing women wearing it.i would like to know if it is mandatory on the part of muslim women to wear it .this is bothering me for some time now and i hope that insha allaah someone would kindly enlighten me about it.i would greatly appreciate it..jazakallaah khair..

There was a mufti from Egypt who I got the priviledge to hear. He explained that the niqab was mandoob. Allah Knows Best.

Asalaamu alikum sister,

It seems to me that there is a difference of opinion among the scholars regarding the niqab. While some say yes it is a requrement, others say that only hijab is required.

It seems to be commonly accepted that the minimum that a women must do is cover everything except her hands and her face, and that her reward from Allah (swt) will be even greater if she chooses to cover more than this. I heard one sister say once that choosing to wear the niqab is like seeking the A+ on the assignment. And Allah knows best.

I have tremendous respect for both our hijab and niqab wearing sisters, to see them is to truly see a sight of beauty.

May Allah bless you all and make us all better Muslims.

Your sister,

~Jennifer

I wear a scarf due to following reasons:

1- It's the order of Allah

2- This is the MOST modest dress of all

3- I feel safe & good inside [Image: biggrin.gif]

4- I feel that iam atleast doing something right [Image: smile.gif]

that was a response to john doe. i was saying that if he is a christian ,and therefore believes mary to be mother of his god, why does she wear a head covering. therefore he has no say in this matter. that`s all.
