Salaam Aleikum?
#2

Salam Peace in Ireland

Salam Basically means= <b> Peace</b>

Asalamalaykum means= <b>"Peace be upon you."</b>

Asalamalaykum Wa Rahmatullah means= <b>"May the peace and the Mercy of Allah be upon you," </b>

"Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu means=

<b>:"May the peace, the mercy, and the blessings of Allah be upon you."</b>

Yes You can say this when your greeting someone for the first time, or when you are leaving.

You can use all of those terms.

If you don't mind I want to tell you this as well

When someone says Asalamalaykum the other person has to return the greeting by saying Walaykuma salam warah matulahi wabarakatu which means <b>May the peace, the mercy, and the blessings of Allah be upon you too</b>

But if someone says just salam then its up to you, you can say just salam back or say Asalamalaykum which will earn you more rewards. Whereas if someone says Asalamalaykum its not nice to just say salam back. [Image: biggrin.gif]
