The slurs and statements that El (God in Hebrew loosely) is a totally different entity from Allah (swt) is recent ploy by fundamentalist (I dread using the term for theoretical reasons) Christians. It has it's hubris and invective roots in the famous (or infamous) speeches and lectures given by Dr. Robert Morey.
Not to be boastful, but I happen to be a student of Archaeology of the ancient Near East (particularly Israel), and the belief that Allah (swt) is an entirely different concept is totally unfounded. Insha-Allah I'll get my writings published someday so that I may amplify the profundity of such frivolous nonsense that they peddle.
