This is the stuff I was talking about in the Milk and Dairy thread. You would not believe what is all kinds of products, such as toothpaste, soap, shampoo, the list goes on and on. If you notice on toothpaste, they only list the active ingredients, which is only about 2% of the product. Imagine what the other 98% is! Be very careful of what you purchase in the U.S. I do not know how it is for you Brothers and Sisters in other countries. We buy only toothpaste that is made from all natural ingredients. Look for these products that say contains no animal ingredients. The only two kinds I know of are, Natures Gate and Toms of Maine. Shampoo like Paul Mitchell contain no animal ingredients also.

Beware my fellow Brothers and Sisters, natural flavor as an ingredient must be suspicious of until we contact the company. If it is an animal ingredient it is not likely to halal, because of they way animals are slaughtered in the U.S.

I cotacted a company about enzymes used in their cheese making process. The web site said it contained no animal ingredients, but when I E-mailed them this question, they told me they do use animal by-products. I then wrote another E-mail to them and copied what they wrote on their website and what they wrote to me. I got a response saying they do not use animal by-products in some cheese but do in other kinds. So now I do not trust them. But they said they do not use pork ingredients. Even so, the animal by-products are haram because of the slaughtering method.

Could you please Brothers and Sisters tell me what is availible for you to purchase in your countries. It is hard here in the U.S. to by food. You have to read all the ingredients so you know the product is halal or not. I have a list of many ingredients that are haram, if anybody is interested, I can post them if you would like.
