Bismillah
Yesterday I had an interpretation assignment. I met the non Arabic speaker (german) to whom I was giving the service, before, and in our introduction, he learnt that because I m Muslim I cannt shake hands with him. He accepted this with full respect and showed no hostility, which in some cases it happens but not directly. Well, let us say it becomes a message of a serious commitment to Islam.
Anyway, last evening, the assignment was some kind of hard and long, at the end he wanted to thank me much. He smokes pipe, and he had his tobacco pack in front of him when he was showing it to someone. Suddenly, before I left, he asked me can u touch this pack, I said yes and touched it spontaneously, he held it from the other side, and shook it saying thank u so much. I really respected his respecftul and thoughtful attitude. He wanted to express his appreciation in a different manner and thought of this innovative idea not to insult my attitude.
It was really touching and revealed how non Muslims will respect us when we respect our rules.
Alhamdulelah. :)
