I was telling him why he is still doing it, it is hard to cope with excercise, work, his family and all. He said I am keeping a pure intention to keep myself fit, so when it called for jihad I am ready Insh aAllah May Allah allow all youth of Ummah this feeling to be part of them ameen Let us make this thread a long and an inspiring one - Muslimah - 03-01-2004 as salam alykom It makes me happy to see Mash aAllah the majority of my young co workers fasting yesterday and today for A`ashoura as if this is the default. Alhamdulelah the sense of betterment in religion is really growing. Muslims all over the world are slacking off, and this is why that the state of our Ummah is in. I have read and also heard on Islamic tapes and CD's we have that a Muslim should be physically fit and know some kind of martial arts or self defense. It is our duty to be ready for this type of jihad if needed. Also for John, jihad means to sruggle. There are many types of jihad. Defending oneself in a war is only one kind. May Allah guide us and so we all may become better Muslims, Ameen. Allah knows best. Let us make this thread a long and an inspiring one - Muslimah - 03-04-2004 as salam alykom Here is another inspiring situation. Two weeks ago, two american women reverts visited me at my house. Sobhan Allah, how Islam changes people. Being americans of course (I know how life in the US is for I visited a few times), made me surprised on how they accepted a number of things that are hard to accept. They made hijra without any preparations here in Egypt, they live in isolated areas, no car, they use public transportation (note that we are a developing country) public transportations is not very nice here (not like how it is in the US) in other words very difficult to use and put up with, but Mash aAllah they dont simply complain. No complains at all, all what they card for is to come to a place where they may raise their children according to Islam and live according to Islam. Not to mention that both are married in polygyny. But Sobhan Allah, no complains at all. They both said as long as our religion is safe, we are happy. we dont need any material issues, only Allah is our aim. Excuse my poor english:) Let us make this thread a long and an inspiring one - Muslimah - 12-01-2004 Bismillah As salam alykom Lately I observed that we all tend to only bring bad news about the Ummah and exchange our sorrow for the general status. I know that we do this out of concern. However, we must at the same time observe the hadeeth which I don’t literally recall now in which the Messenger encourages us to only bring good news about the general condition. Out of this concept I like very much to share a number of incidents which clearly shows that Alhamdulelah good is and shall remain in the Ummah. Yesterday I was running an errand that involved being around a number of female young physicians. They were all Alhamdulelah observing the Islamic dress code. One of their colleagues came into the room. She was wearing an Isdal. In Arabic it means one of those loose outer garments usually black in color that covers from head to tow. It comes in one peace with opening for the arms. They all expressed much admiration and encouragement. They were happy to see the change and asked her. O will this be the permenant appearance O Mash a Allah may Allah bless u. I was happy for the reaction. None of them told her O no need why would u restrict yourself more. U r already observing the general dress code. Why the extra. No they were all happy to see the development hoping it for themselves too. Alhamdulelah, the problem as I was talking to someone is that we tend to only narrate the bad situations and neglect the good ones. Let us try to bring the good news which are inspiring. Let us make this thread a long and an inspiring one - Muslimah - 12-09-2004 Bismillah as salam alykom Am I the only one who runs into inspiring situations. ok yesterday I was buying coffee at the grocery store on the corner of my office. I work in near down town area with many other official bodies around. A lady comes into the store, the man does not know her at all, she tells him she works for so and so and needs L.E 1 for the taxi and she will pay it back later. Without any hesitation the man give her the money to pay the taxi. I think this can not happen anywhere except here in Egypt |
