You might be confused...
It IS allowed to care for orphans, take them it and feed them.
It is NOT allowed to call that child your child and change that child's name to your name. They must keep their name. Their true lineage should never be covered up.
In the U.S. adoption, not only CAN change the child's name and lineage but it mostly gives legal custody to the guardian so the child can be enrolled in school, get health care and such. If one was to adopt in the U.S. one must make sure that the birth certificate stays the same and that no name change occurs.
Is that clearer... or worse?
