Bismillah
As Salam alaikum
"Rasool (SAW) said that holding on to Islam will be like holding on to a hot piece of coal."
I've reflected on this hadith. Holding a hot coal is not only difficult but also painful. Our Nabi was very specific with the words he chose. If he just wanted to emphasize the fact that it would have been hard to hold, then why not say a writhing snake or something slippery?
Today, holding onto Islam can HURT. Abuses are spouted. Life long companions abandon you because you say "La ilaha illah." Some muslims even suffer physical trials.
So like the coal, it is tempting to let go because the pain would stop.
Insha'Allah, let us remember the rewards that Allah has in store for his obedient slaves. Insha'Allah, these thoughts will cool the coal.
As Salam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu
