hypocrits??????? - shorty - 11-02-2006  salaam, how was everyones eid? i had one question on my mind, which i would really like an answer to. After returning to University after ramadan and Eid, i came out of lecture, and bumped in to one of my mates, and i asked him how come his friend (female) and himself never came to lecture. He replied, Im not studying that module i just come to sit in with my friends, but my friend was there u just prob didnt see her. (when i first met her she wore the hijab) so i started describing her, and he said, oh u prob never saw her because shes taken the head scarf off, i asked curiously why? abit disappointed, and he replied, 'well ramadans over innit, she doesnt need to wear it now' i tried to explain how that was not right, and abit hypocritical of her, but for some reason he felt that there was nothing wrong with that. Am i wrong to think like this? because i feel that a head scarf is not a fashion accessory where you can just put it on n off when u please. It has many responsibilities, which these days many girls do not show n e respect for. I hope someone can put my mind at ease lolzzz allah hafiz shorty hypocrits??????? - Muslimah - 11-02-2006 Bismillah as salam alykom shorty, Well, I read a newspaper article here in Egypt about this phenomenon. The title was "I wish Ramadan was the whole year long". Matter of fact, this phenomenon is quiet widely spread. Many women who, originally, dont abide by the Islamic dress code, try to do so during Ramadan for whatever reasons they have. Now, for us to judge them as hypocrite, this is uncalled for. We cannt judge, we can only make dua for them that Allah strengthens their Eman in order to be able to continue. For example, if we meet them we express sheer, smile, but we can make a nice remark nicely, that o good u were able to abide by this during Ramadan in order to help your muslim brother lower their gaze, protect yourself..any such nice remark. Then may Allah Allow u to continue, you did experience it, it is not really hard. Plus you are much safer and secure not having everyone allowed to look at u.. Insh aAllah such attitude shall work. But never talk from an upper level. I mean trying to convey a message o i m better than u, or how did u do this? If Allah's Name is the Merciful, Ghaffour (Oft Forgiving), we must learn to understand the situaiton of others. hypocrits??????? - PUPPET - 11-02-2006 ^ True that Salaam Listen here Shorty Dont hate the Sinner , Hate the Sin hypocrits??????? - Dan - 11-02-2006 Bismillah As Salam alaikum I agree... better in Ramadan than never at all because as Muslimah said, Insha'Allah they might continue after Ramadan. Muslimah gave good advice on how to encourage this. As Salam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu hypocrits??????? - Deen - 11-02-2006 I wouldn't use the word hypocrite because that is too harsh. People like this need guiding and help. This type of behaviour should sadden us because it is as if they are playing games and defying Allah SWT or even mocking him by only fulfilling their fard during ramadaan. Rasool (SAW) said that holding on to Islam will be like holding on to a hot piece of coal. He did not say let go of it, he said hold on to it! hypocrits??????? - Dan - 11-02-2006 Bismillah As Salam alaikum "Rasool (SAW) said that holding on to Islam will be like holding on to a hot piece of coal." I've reflected on this hadith. Holding a hot coal is not only difficult but also painful. Our Nabi was very specific with the words he chose. If he just wanted to emphasize the fact that it would have been hard to hold, then why not say a writhing snake or something slippery? Today, holding onto Islam can HURT. Abuses are spouted. Life long companions abandon you because you say "La ilaha illah." Some muslims even suffer physical trials. So like the coal, it is tempting to let go because the pain would stop. Insha'Allah, let us remember the rewards that Allah has in store for his obedient slaves. Insha'Allah, these thoughts will cool the coal.
