Quote:How does Islam stand on Creation and evolution?

AFAIK Ishmael was Abrahams son, and was the founder of Islam therefore, pre-Abraham, all faiths of Christian, Islam and Jew share the same beliefs of the beginning of the world, and the world being created in seven days? If so, how does the Theory of Evolution fit in with it, is it accepted by Islam and in some way accomodated, or regarded as being plain wrong?

As far as evolution is concerned we believe that allah created the heavens and the earth in six days... you can refer to the quran chapter 57 verse 4

as far as evolution is concerned islam rejects it... outright... For centuries islam has been the forefront of science and technology (maybe we can get into that in another thread) and we do not see science as being seperate from the religion and so on.... however of all things in science the THEORY of evolution is rejected.

furthermore... it is only a theory.. this has not been proven.. in fact.. i remember reading in the daily news in my country, a skull that was found that goes against the theory of evolution.

to go even further arclight...muslims believe in the quran as THE word of god. in that... these words were actually spoken by allah himself. as it was revealed to his slave and messenger Muhammad (S.A.W.S). The muslims would not leave the truth (i.e. the quran) to go and believe in a THEORY... LOL

I must say that i have read your posts in this forum and i am very impressed with the level of questions that u ask... very pertinent alhamdulillah... all praise is due to allah...
