On the same theme of honesty and money. A true story, something I did way back.


My husband and I left Stockholm for a couple of years to work in a litte village near the Norweigian boarder. And left the apartment in Stockholm as it was. When returning, I went to the post-office to pay some bills and took with me a wallet that had been lying in a drawer and I did not look in it before putting my money there. So I went to the post-office and came back home and then I found a 1000 paper money, its like 100 Euro today or something like that. HOW I wondered - WHERE did that come from THEN the idea came up, I must have got too much change back from the post-office! So back I went to the lady where I have been earlier and told her what had happened. She told me she could do nothing for the time being, but when the office close for the day, she will count the money and see if something is missing. So I left the money there and went home. Later that evening the lady called and said there was not anything missing so the money I had left were mine. Was I happy! I suddenly got some extra money that I didn't even remember I had So I went there in the evening and picked up my money and got some very nice presents from the lady, only because I was so honest!


So in this case honesty truly goes TWO-ways, doesn't it? Just as it should be.
