Bismillah
In effort to bring us back to topic, reepi, you said you grasped nothing from the original post, it is quite evident.
I will try to paraphrase it and may be put it into points:
1. Pronouncing the shahada accepting Mohammad blessing and peace be upon him as Messenger means: Entering into agreement with Allah.
2. Realising that the man is sent by Allah.
3. Realising that what he introduces is Allah's word.
4. Recognising that we have to follow what he broughtforth from Allah; dos and do nots.
5. Realising that we should apply the teachings as demonsrtarted by him, being a human being Allah Commanded him to fully apply Quran in a demonstrative manner so that we learn what to do when and how.
6. Being human, does not leave us any execuse to not being able to apply the teachings.
7. Taking him as a role model in each and every aspect of our life since he is the one who received the revelation and knows best how to apply it.
8. Refering back to him (during his life physically and after his death by refering to his Sunnah: teachings and narrations) when matters are unclear to us or needing consultancy.
8. Realising that the Sunnah is the second ground for Islam.
First let me know if by breaking it into points, now you understand.
