Why do Muslims say: - Muslimah - 11-07-2008

Bismillah

Praise be to Allah, blessing and peace be upon his final Messenger and all other messengers and prophets.

Lately some of our Nazarine members were confused as to why Muslims have to say: Ash hadu anna Mohammadan rasoullah.

Here is an explanation according to my humble understanding:

I hereby testify before You O Allah, that the man You have sent to communicate your message, the man whom You Assigned to be in charge of teaching us your limits, commands, rules and regulations, the man who is a human being whom You sent to demonstrate to us how to live, and die, what are our priorities, and concerns within Your legitimate boundaries, what to avoid, what to refrain from..etc. I take as my role model, I testify that whatever he presented, introduced, and communicated is strictly and directly from you and only you. Not only this, but also by taking this testimony, we actually enter into agreement with Allah to follow those rules, refrain from what we should refrain from, admit that what the Messenger salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam as communicated to us is the word of Allah and of no one else, we accept to take it as the foundation of our life, guidance light and criterion to follow that must be applied and adopted in every aspect. Based on this agreement, we will not have an excuse on the Day of Judgment that allows us to say, we didn’t know, we were not aware. The book was, is and shall remain there and our testimony stands on this. By this testimony, we openly say that we will embrace his teachings, however, we must realise that doing a verbal testimony is not enough. I mean saying Ash hadu ana Mohammadan rasullah, is not sufficient. I mean what is the point of saying it, while doing otherwise? Saying it verbally is essential to remind ourselves of living it. Pronouncing a Shahada is a basic foundation in Islam to remind us how we must be committed to maintaining it in our hearts, our soles and living with it throughout till we die. If we don’t live it, we will not be able to utter it upon death. rs were confused as for the reason Muslims say

On the day of judgement, when Mohammad comes in glory to judge both the living and the dead, what sort of questions will he ask me, in order to determine whether he thinks I deserve to go to heaven or hell?

The creation will be judged by Allah subhannah wataallah and nobody else.

Since God will be judging me and not Mohammad, I assume you agree with me that I'd be a fool if I were to waste even 1 second of my life worrying about what Mohammad thinks about my behavior?

No one is going to agree with you reep... but i do agree that you are wasting your time NOW by worshipping Jesus instead of God Himself.

Oh... Jesus is God Himself you would say, well again, we will not agree with you and no sane person will even imagine that God Almighty is a man born of a women and was circumcised when he was child...

Salam

Wael.

Bismillah

reepi, if what I read as you said is what you were able to grasp from the post, then you demonstrated a total lack of ability to understand.

Where in the original post exactly did I say that Mohammad blessings and peace be upon him is going to come in glory and judge mankind? can you pls quote this part in particular in the original post? and from there we speak. The post was meant to be explanatory, I m trying to help you just as a student demonstrates a certain disorder of understanding. I m going to be your shadow teacher Insh a Allah. Go ahead pls and underline the part in the original post saying as above mentioned that Mohammad blessings and peace be upon him is going to come in glory and judge mankind?

Well, if Mohammad isn't going to judge me, then I choose to ignore him. If muslims choose to spend their lives trying to please Mohammad, instead of trying to please God, then I think they are foolish.

Many of the statements which Mohammad claimed came from God are offensive (for example, when Mohammad told his male followers that it is OK to take other men's wives as sex slaves and rape them). A loving God would never say such a thing, therefore I refuse to believe that Mohammad is a true prophet.

Where did he say that?

And reepicheep, no Muslim is trying to please Mohammad peace be upon him with our actions. I'm not sure where you are getting this idea from.

Verse 4:24 of the koran, where Mohammad clearly states that it is permissible for muslim males to have sex with their married female slaves.

Muhammad peace be upon him didnt state anything in the Quran. Quran is statement from the God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (pbot).

If you dont believe Muhammad was a Prophet that is your right. It doesn't hurt us any.
