Let us make this thread a long and an inspiring one

Assalamu aleikum,

On the same theme of honesty and money. A true story, something I did way back.

My husband and I left Stockholm for a couple of years to work in a litte village near the Norweigian boarder. And left the apartment in Stockholm as it was. When returning, I went to the post-office to pay some bills and took with me a wallet that had been lying in a drawer and I did not look in it before putting my money there. So I went to the post-office and came back home and then I found a 1000 paper money, its like 100 Euro today or something like that. HOW I wondered - WHERE did that come from [Image: huh.gif] THEN the idea came up, I must have got too much change back from the post-office! So back I went to the lady where I have been earlier and told her what had happened. She told me she could do nothing for the time being, but when the office close for the day, she will count the money and see if something is missing. So I left the money there and went home. Later that evening the lady called and said there was not anything missing so the money I had left were mine. Was I happy! I suddenly got some extra money that I didn't even remember I had [Image: tongue.gif] So I went there in the evening and picked up my money and got some very nice presents from the lady, only because I was so honest!

So in this case honesty truly goes TWO-ways, doesn't it? Just as it should be.

Thought to turn the light on this thread with more inspiring situations.

Not sure if this happens only in Egypt, (not being baised of course).

Anyway, last week I was driving back home when I went into a bump, after the bump I felt something strange with the car coupled with a sound. To make a long story short, driving backwards, two young garage attendants informed me that I have a flat tire. They refered me to a tire workshop. But I said i d rather replace with the stand by till i get home. No second remark, immediately, they open the door letting me out, took my permission to get into the car, they cooperated in doing everything with a grate harmony starting from unlocking the car trunk, taking out the spare tire, taking out the tools, pushing up the car and replacing the tire, in no time. They finished everyting, just opened the door again for me and let me in. Sobhan Allah, although they are garage attendants, who is similar situation might be tipped for their efforts, they didnt even express a readiness for this. They just let me in the car and said salam alykom mam. Sobhan Allah, Mash a Allah, I didnt want to offer them any money in order not to minimize their reward. Mash aAllah. Does this happen anywhere else in the world?

:asalam: Muslimah,

What a nice story about your flat tire. I couldn't imagine something like happening where I live too often.... I would be more worried about someone robbing me, stealing my car, or worse. This world is a crazy frightening world we live in.

Unfortunately, some people have stopped to help people, only to find that it was a decoy, and the helping people ended up getting hurt as well. Needless to say, it's rare that something like that would happen here in America. VERY rare. How sad.

I have to pick my brain for an inspirational story. I'm sure I have one in my memory somewhere..... :conf06: :banghead:

Here is a picture of me and some of my college teamates. We spend most of the year training and getting ready to play American football. Of course, the real reason we train is to prepare for jihad.

I found this on the net:

Baby in the trash

There is a flat in the city, much the same as all the others, that houses eight little orphan girls. Each of them was found in various places in the streets.

A businessman was walking along the street one day and as he walked he heard a sound. What was it that made him stop and listen carefully? It sounded just like a small cat of which there are thousands throughout the city. But this sound was familiar and it struck a chord deep within. Perhaps a sound he made when he was a babe, and which led to his mother's response to reach for him. Now, he in turn reached down with his big, strong hands, pulling away pieces of garbage and uncovered a baby. In surprise and awe, he scattered the insects from its tiny frame, quickly removed his expensive jacket, covering and sheltering the babe in his strong but gentle arms.

Unwanted and too often despised, such babies are taken to the local police station where they are sent on to government orphanages.

A kind woman, decided she wanted to help some of these orphans, so she put eight of them under her custody. She rented a flat and hired four women to care for them. The babies are between three and nine months old, so they will grow up together. Each woman takes care of two babies. The place is spotlessly clean and they are well fed and in better health than they were in the beginning. They will grow up as sisters in Islam, forming bonds which hopefully will last their whole lives through.

This kind lady will ensure they go to decent schools and become educated. She will oversee their care and training, ensuring they are treated with love and fairness in a world that seems to have forgotten what is good and what is bad.

There are many such places scattered like stars through this crowded city. Each little chubby face that turns and looks with tenderness at her care-giver, sheds some light on a world that has forgotten its trust. We are the care-takers of the world, the guardians of truth and justice. The One to Whom these little ones belong, will ask us about our neglected duty.
