Polygamy

Quote:Our Ummah has been making big mistakes in terms of dawah.
Exactly Dan u r so right, the way some people approach to others is really not correct, like telling them u must be muslim or i will blow u up, this is not Islam truly, may allah have mercy on us and show us the right way.

Quote:To all the ladies please accept polygamy
we do accept polygmy red sea, but there is a nice way in presenting it, and the polygamy is from Allah Allmighty, but it is for noble reasons not lust brother. May Allah accept from us and forgive us if we are mistaken

I know sister Radiyah, but there are some sisters who prefer that their husbands commit adultery rather than marry another woman in a halal way Wal 3yatho Billah

But that's the key there! why he would have to commit adultery? he's suppose to get married for other reasons NOT to satisfy his lust...this is wrong. I can accept the doctrine of polygamy what I cannot accept is the fact that man cannot have self-control on his passions and have to get married to other wives in order to not commit adultery. We are human beings, not beasts...therefore, we have something call 'self-control'. In my opinion, of course.

Asalaamu alikum and Peace be with you,

Forgive me is I state something that has already been said in this thread.

I'm not in agreement with a man taking more wives solely for the purpose of lust, and I think that most often that is not the case. I only have one thing about this reason to say: A man can love his wife very much, but maybe she is unable to care for this kind of need due to a medical reason, so what then? Say for example the wife is in a terible accident, leaving her paralyzed, and the husbands needs can no longer be fufilled by this wife. I don't see how it can be percieved as a bad thing if he takes a second wife while continuing to provide love and support for the first one.

I do not know any brother who has more than one wife, but I will tell you what. I know of a young women whos rescently widowed with children. Most of the brothers I know are already married, however if one of them, and I'll even include my own husband, was in a position to take a women like this as a second wife, I would think they are doing a very noble thing. This is a huge responsibility on the part of the man most of all. He must be equitable to them both. I cannot imagine this is an easy task. So I believe that if there is some man taking on a second wife and he is doing it for such a noble reason as the one I just mentioned, he is really doing this not for his sake, not for his desires, but for the sake of Allah, and I have a high level of respect for these brothers, and I wish them and their families success.

This is a topic that can be talked into the ground, and of course every situation is different. But rather than discrediting it alltogether, we should try to understand the benefits of it. Allah knows best.

Yes I know that brother I know many women who are like this, these are not true Muslims, I stated that before that i would rather approve of my husband marry another woman than commit adultry. Subhan Allah they never look at the virtous side of it. But as we said and sister Jeniffer said jazzaha Allah khayr it should be for a noble reason.

The example sister Jennifer put here happened truly, I saw it on tv on Iqraa chanel, 2 Jordanian couples, his wife got paralized, he loved her but what can he do he married another woman but after his wife's approval, and the second wife she was a very pious woman she accepted, she was not married before, so she took care of her husband, helped raise his children, and served his paralized wife, the husband was talking about his second wife so lovingly how she took care of his family, but still he loved the first one as much. So c here it is a really noble cause, but one should be cautiouss in choosing the second wife, or, ya Allah, u men will be in such a big trouble. [Image: rolleyes.gif] . take care all.

Jazakumullahu Khairan sister Jenifer and sister Radiyah.

This is what I meant , when I said that here in our country if a woman is older than 30 no one would like to marry her , so I dont see that if a person who marries an older lady is looking for lust or to fill his desires if his intentions are good is to give these ladies "setr" protection or marry a widow or a divorced woman so there could be a balance in the community.

Islam is not only a true and a complete religion, Islam is a way of life, we should always be thankful to Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala that we are Muslims.

"...Today I Have perfected your religion and completed My favor upon you and Chosen Islam as your religion" Chapter Almaedah verse 3.
