. . آمين

 Our Future
Posted by: Suhail - 04-28-2004, 10:52 PM - Forum: "And remind for reminding benefit the believers - Replies (4)

We tend to plan for our future everyday,

Desperately we try to pave the way.

We save every little bit of money we can find,

And to the people who can help us achieve we are kind.

If there is something we want bad enough we're willing to fight,

For a future filled with happiness that is oh so bright.

It is unfortunate though, to fill everyone's hearts with sorrow,

But remember dear muslims our future is not tomorrow.

It is not money or fame that will get us ahead,

But the number of times we worship God before bed.

That is what will make our future unimaginably great,

So let us wake up and take control of our fate.

Tomorrow is not the future you should be planning for,

But the day you will be standing before Allah's door.

The day where we will be reminded of every last deed,

Like the day you forgot the poor because of your greed.

And what dear muslim shall you say,

When Allah asks you why you didn't pray?

No excuse will be enough,

To get out of the hellfire that will be so rough.

So let us pray, worship and keep the poor fed,

For our future begins once we are all dead.

Hadhrat Umar (R.A) has said that the children of shaitaan are many from which nine are prominent : Zaleetoon, Watheen, Laqoos, Ra'waan, Haffaaf, Murrah, Mussawwit, Daasim, Walhaan. Each of their occupations and methods of leading people astray are different.

1) Zaleetoon's occupation is to sit in the streets and at shops with his fellow companions, spreading mischief and evil, leading Allah's people astray so that in the hereafter they may be used as fuel for the fire of hell.

2) Watheen's work is to influence people in such a way that his own actions lead him to calamities, thus, driving him away from the Lord.

3) Laqoos' task is to make the actions of fire-worshippers appear more decorative and to prevent them from discontinuing this form of worship, so that due to fire worshipping they themselves will become the prey of the fire of hell.

4) Ra'waan's victims are people who possess power and money. His aim is to induce them towards insolence and evil so that they make decisions without consulting Allah's guidance. Thus, in this way they themselves will fulfill Ra'awaan's needs and accomplish his tasks, whilst this cursed sits back calmly. This reality can be witnessed today in the world where decisions are made merely by strength and leadership.

5) Haffaaf has been allocated the job of creating mischief by tempting people towards the drinking of wine and spirits.

6) Murrah's responsibility is to attract people towards musical instruments due to which they will become negligent of their compulsions of life, and that no-one is saved from this wicked sin is his constant worry.

7)Al-Mussawit spread's false and dangerous rumours amongst people which creates arguments and evil.

8)Daasim enters homes especially when the head of the house enters without uttering salaam and remembering the Almighty. He causes conflict between man, his wife and the family. On occasions it leads to violence and divorce between a couple.

9)Walhaan's duty is to distract man when carrying out ablution and wavers his intent when performing salaah, consequently corrupting salaah.

 The Effects Of Television
Posted by: Suhail - 04-28-2004, 10:46 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

Most people think that television is Haraam only because it projects images of living creatures. Today, tables in living rooms and bedroom walls are adorned and decorated with family pictures and other portraits, to the extent that some students hang the portraits of their shaikh on the wall for blessings. It is difficult to comprehend how the mercy of Allah ta’alaa is going to descend.

Any home that has a video and television is not visited by angels. The Holy Prophet of Allah (S.A.W.S) has informed us that any home which contains pictures of living creatures is not visited by angels. However, do you think television is only haraam because it projects images? There are many reasons for the ‘T.V.’ being haraam. Everybody who studies its influences finds new dangers. Televsion is an instrument of violating the injunction of hijaab. We all know that a non-mahram man cannot look at a non-mahram woman. The Prophet (S.A.W.S) has said “verily, the gaze is a poisonous arrow from the arrows of satan”.

Take heed my friends! After having seen one woman you turn to another and then another and are not satisfied and so you move onto magazines. But, the lust in your heart remains unfulfilled so you move onto pornographic images on the television and video. The truth is always bitter and hard, but one does not need to conduct a survey to find out what people think when they are spending hours, watching naked women and men on the filthy ‘box’. The viewing of films that inflame sexual desires is definitely questionable. It is reported on the authority of Hasan Basri (R.A) that the Apostle of Allah (S.A.W.S) is to have said “the curse of Allah is on the who sees and on the one who is seen”. When a man looks at a non-mahram woman, then Allah’s curse descends on that individual for as long as he keeps on looking. We are glued to the television for 2 to 3 hours, some even more, at a time. Be cautioned my friends. During all this time, Allah’s curse is befalling us.

There is no doubt that society at large influences children, but without any hesitation I can say that the effects the television has are far greater. It is the television that take our children on the path of drugs, alcohol, fornication, disrespect, confrontation, modernism and many other evils that are apparent in our society today. Know that these evils are a direct result of watching and learning from the television.

Infact, television is being used to disseminate evil within the community. You may think that you are passing time and entertaining yourself when you are passing several hours in front of the T.V. You are mistaken my friend! The television is not an instrument of entertainment, but an instrument used to reshape and motivate ones thoughts and loyalties. Whatever you watch on television you accept as the truth. If the television was to announce that Afghanistan was captured by the USA, no-one would doubt it.

(Assalam)

 Internet relationships
Posted by: amma - 04-28-2004, 05:55 PM - Forum: Usama - Replies (12)

Question :

I am a female college student. My problem is that I have gotten to know a young man over the internet. In the beginning the relationship was one of respect and exchanging information, until it turned into love. My mother rejects the idea of me marrying him, and she has threatened to tell my father about this relationship. I cannot do without him and he feels the same way, because he has told me that he will commit suicide if we cannot get married.

I hope that you can advise me. I cannot be apart from him and he does not.

Answer :

Praise be to Allaah.

Note – may Allaah bless you – that our great religion firmly warns us against forming relationships between the sexes outside the framework of marriage and firmly closes the door to the calamity of introduction programs that are propagated by means of newspapers, magazines and the internet. These warnings are a means of warding off fitnah (temptation and tribulation) and preventing love affairs which usually lead people to commit acts of grave immorality and transgression of the sacred limits set by Allaah – Allaah forbid – or they lead them to marriages that end in failure and are filled with suspicion and mistrust.

First of all, you made a mistake by entering the chat room before knowing what the Islamic ruling on that is. Then you made another mistake by forming a relationship and friendship with a young man who is not related to you.

Beware of making a third mistake by marrying him because he claims to love you sincerely and you are afraid that he may commit suicide!

Marriage that is not based on a sound Islamic foundation is doomed to end in failure and regret. A young man who has spent all this time forming a relationship with a girl through chat rooms and telephone calls is in fact a young man who has no religious commitment, modesty or manners, and he cannot be entrusted with the honour of the Muslims. His threat to commit suicide means one of two things:

Either he is sincere in his threat, which means that he is very weak in faith, because killing oneself is a major sin – may Allaah keep us safe and sound;

Or he is lying, which means that he is a hateful opportunist and a fool, as well as a selfish individual who cares only for his own personal interests.

If you were to marry this person, it would not take very long before suspicions arose which would lead to him losing trust in you and not having a peaceful or relaxed life with you. From his point of view, a girl whom he gets to know through talking on the phone or through chat rooms cannot be trusted not to form relationships with others. This will occupy his thoughts and make him anxious.

Finally, you should note that this advice which we are offering to you is based on sincere concern for you. You should learn a lesson from the experience of other girls who have fallen victim to love relationships and lost their honour as a result. You should give up this young man immediately and repent to Allaah and ask His forgiveness, and praise Him for saving you from committing immoral actions even though the means that lead to them are easily available. You should also praise Him for putting obstacles in the way of this marriage, through your family’s refusal. Start a new life filled with purity and chastity, regret and prayers for forgiveness, keeping away from the things that lead to temptation and immorality. Do a lot of righteous deeds, read a great deal of Qur’aan, and attend many righteous gatherings. With time, your relationship with this person will fade, for it is based on emotions that are not based on shar’i guidelines or wise thinking. Beware lest the Shaytaan ensnare you and makes you think that you cannot forget or sever the relationship forever; these are just whispers and tricks, and devilish attempts to keep you in the hell of love and emotion, and distract you from the higher aims of sincere devotion and submission to Allaah and constant striving to please Him. We ask Allaah to give you a way out from your distress and anxiety.

Which is cleaner the feet or the face?
Posted by: unity - 04-26-2004, 09:37 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

there was once this muslim man who was on a plane and it was time for namaz. he went to do wudu but as the toilets were little he had to leave the door open.

the air hostess went past and saw that he was in the process of washing his feet at that time, and she made a face and said that it was a nasty thing to do, washing his feet in the sink.

so he asked her "how many times do you wash your face?" and she replied once or twice a day. he replied back saying "i wash my feet 5 times a day so therefore my feet are cleaner than your face"[Image: smile.gif]
