once upon a time...

there was a rich King who had 4 wives

He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighbouring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day

she would leave him for another.

He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidante and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her to help him get through the difficult times.

One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short.

He thought of his luxurious life and pondered, "I now have 4 wives with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone.

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I have loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.

Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is too good!

When you die, I'm going to remarry!"

His heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me

and keep me company?"

"I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave."

Her answer came like a bolt of thunder and the King was devastated.

Then a voice called out:

"I'll leave with you and follow you no matter where you go." The King looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny,

she suffered from malnutrition.

Greatly grieved, the King said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!"

In Truth, we all have 4 wives in our lives ...

Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth.

When we die, it will all go to others.

Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

And our 1st wife is our Soul,

often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the ego.

However, our Soul is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go.

1. THE MEN & WOMEN AROUND THE PROPHET (saw) - Kitab Al Fada'il Al-Sahabah

The Sahaabah were the companions of Prophet (saw). They are the source of

our knowledge, inspiration and guidance for all Muslims anytime.

In Surah Al-Tawba verse 100 of the Qur'an Allah swt says: The vanguard (of

Islam)- the first of those who forsook (their homes) and of those who gave

them aid, and (also) those who follow them in (all) good deeds,-

well-pleased is Allah with them, as are they with Him: for them hath He

prepared gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: that is

the supreme felicity.

Abu Sa'id (ra), reported: Allah's Messenger (saw) said: None should revile

my Companions, for if one among you were to spend as much gold as Uhud, it

would not amount to as much as one mud of one of them or half of it. [

Hadith number in Sahih Muslim: 4611 ]

Who were these 'Men' & 'Women' around the Prophet (saw) ? What was so

special about them ? What did they do ? Can we relate to them ? Is it

possible to reach their status ?

Alhamdulillah, over recent years many 'born' Muslims have rediscovered

that for many the starting point of learning Islam is always the

biggest obstacle. 'Where do I start from?' is a common question that

is always asked. This one-day intensive course aims to answer this

and many other vital questions.

The objective of this course is to provide a deeper understanding of

the Islamic Belief (Aqeedah) and will cover the following areas:

4. THE ETIQUETTES OF SEEKING KNOWLEDGE

There is a certain amount of etiquette for seeking knowledge which the

seeker of knowledge should follow. To adorn oneself with beautiful

etiquette, noble manners, good behavior and pious conduct are distinguishing

characteristics of the people of Islaam, and knowledge - the most precious

pearl in the crown cannot be attained except by those who adorn themselves

with its etiquette and those who leave evil qualities associated to it. For

this reason the scholars devoted their attention to this etiquette,

outlined its importance and wrote books solely on this topic;

either pertaining to [general conduct] with all types of knowledge or to

specific types

of knowledge such as the etiquette of the carriers of the Noble Quran, the

etiquette of the

muhaddith, the etiquette of the muftee, the etiquette of the qaadee (judge),

the etiquette of the muhtasib (the one who enjoins good and forbids evil for

the sake of Allaah) and so on.

an exalted character” (68:4)

we are to start truly living as the real ambassadors of Allah swt, on this

Earth. We should all be aiming to take on these Prophetic attributes,

Insha'Allah, so that we may be of the most successful in this life, as well

"Never underestimate the power of Dua", Imam Siraj Wahhaj of Brooklyn, New

York once said.

though Allah has promised to answer our prayers has been sufficiently dealt

with.

The blessed Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned that 'The believer who

recites the Qur'an and applies it is like the utrujja (fruit), whose smell

is fragrant and taste is sweet .' (Bukhari)

Utrujj is based upon the teachings of the above Hadith in seeking to equip

you with the sacred knowledge of Islam, while simultaneously training you in

it's implementation in your daily lives. As a result of this dynamic

approach your personality should insh'Allah come to personify this sacred

knowledge.

The change this creates will be witnessed by those around you as they smell

the sweet fragrance of your good speech and taste the sweetness of your

exemplary actions. Such a change within individuals is critical in realising

our covenant with Allah and for the spreading of Islam, especially here in

the West.

Posted by: masriahmuslimah - 04-23-2004, 12:58 PM - Forum: منتدى المقالات باللغة العربية - No Replies

Image: No_Smoking.gif][Image: Top_Title.gif]

Bismillah Arr7man Arra7im (bismillah

Asslamu Alaikm,

My name is Abuhamza and am from Jordan, I would like to Thank the operator of this forum for giving me membership of this site.

I have a contribution and would like to share with you, brothers and sisters!

The latest events of Falluja and Palestine does show some Increase in the intensity of struggle in the moslem world. Something that does mean that these activities are being engineered well to cause such anger in the moslem world and the Arab world specifically in the Middle East region. I am as a moslem and Arab I would always try to weigh things in its origional scale which always leads my mind to one path, that is the war is somehow religious and is dedicated to Keep The state of Israel safe for the upcoming events of the glorious Appearing of Jesus(Peace Be Uppon Him). Most Heavinly books have spotted his appearing to happen after the rise of Israel as a state again(Sorat Al-Isra'a : Quran) and so do the Bible and Torah indicate that the rise of Israel and the Re-build of the Temple of Solomon to the 11th time will be sometime in our meantime-As Christian theologists indicate in many literature-. So, I believe strongly that these events are highly engineered so that it leads the peace process and the struggle in such way to end in big annihilation between Israel and its opponents(Moslems/Arab) and this has its base of evidence from two facts I would like to adress to share with you, Brothers and Sisters!

The first: is the Red-Heifer doctrine, as Torah scholars prophesize that a red cow should come up, live for three years and must be all in all red, and it will be used to purify the people of Israel from the Curse of the dead. There have been many red-Heifers though, but the last which qualifed for the Prophecy is the one born on 8-4-2002 which will have finished its third year by 8-4-2004. I know from many sites that this Heifer have still qualified for this prophecy and its burning should end up in re-build of the temple.

The second reason, is the Increase in the intensity of struggle and threat from both sides, Israel and Hamas resistance. There have been so many violations and actions that caused the build up of tension in the Moslem world against Israel. Jews think they will have a big battle near Tel-Aviv called Armageddon with some other nation, and this nation is no way other than Arabs and moslems with their allies the Russian.

My point is, does Anybody in the moslem world follw and Track these actions by Israel and update the public that these people are funtamentally engineering these effects to end in the desired action that is acceptable by the Jewish and Christian mind? I think there should be some religious drive that guides these people, especially it is well-known for everybody that GW Bush have already slipped several times in his words about the Crussade ware of the meantime!

Thank you and may Allah Bless you All.

 Stages of the soul
Posted by: naseeha - 04-22-2004, 04:02 AM - Forum: Islam - Replies (6)

(Assalam)

I have been hearing about the three stages of the soul alot lately and i was wondering if anyone who knows more about it can tell me.. here's what i have heard thus far...

the three stages are:

1] Nafs Ammarah : this is the soul at the very lowest stage. it is prone to evil and is described as animalistic...

(i forgot the quranic reference for this can someone please tell me if they know....

2] Nafs Lawwammah : this is the self reproaching soul. It is where the person has an awareness of wrong and right and would reproach himself/herself if he has done wrong or is inclined to do wrong.

(quran suratul qiyamah: 2

3] Nafs Mutmainnah: this is the soul that has gained excellence.

(quran suratul fajr: 27)

This is as much as i know can anyone please tell me if they know more on this topic...

Jazaakumullah khairan
