  Why me?
Posted by: mohsie - 06-14-2005, 02:13 AM - Forum: Islam - Replies (6)

Sometimes, we wonder "What did I do to deserve this", or "Why did God have to do this to me".

Here is an explanation...!!!!

A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong. She's failing Algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.

Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake. She asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake."

"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says her daughter. "How about a couple of raw eggs?"

"Gross, Mom!"

"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!"

To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves.

But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!

God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times.

But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good!

We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!

God is very much in love with you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.

Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen.

He can live anywhere in the universe, but He chose your heart."

Love of the Life and Fear of Death!
Posted by: feba - 06-12-2005, 07:02 AM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Love of the Life and Fear of Death

I want to talk today about an illness I have witnessed among Muslims. A while back, I was trying to help a brother find a wife, but came upon some problems. I also received some questions that made me sad for our current situation. The brother wanted to find a wife, but he wanted it clear from the start that he wanted to go to make jihad as soon as Allah made a way for him.

Ordinarily, this would be a normal matter among Muslims, as Allah says:

Go forth, (whether equipped) lightly or heavily, and strive and struggle, with your goods and your persons, in the cause of Allah. That is best for you, if you (but) knew. 9:41

And Only those are Believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and have never since doubted, but have striven with their belongings and their persons in the Cause of Allah: Such are the sincere ones. 49:15

And You shall believe in Allah and His Messenger, and struggle hard in Allah's way with your property and your lives; that is better for you, did you but know! 61:11

Allah also says much more, on this topic. Allah has made it clear for us that Jihad is an essential part of every Muslim man’s life, and that the one who dies without even the intention of making jihad dies on a path other than Islam. This being the case, it should be the norm, not the exception, and we should automatically expect this from every brother that presents himself for marriage.

Since this should be the norm, it surprised me when I heard (from strong, practicing Muslims) questions and statements like: “If he wants to go to jihad, why does he want to marry?” or “It would be better for him to marry a non-virgin or an older woman because it would be less traumatic if he were to die.”

As I think back to the companions of Rasul Allah, I recall all the stories of the feats of bravery and piousness in the face of death. I see how all of these people expected to be in jihad, and it was never an issue in marriage. They did not sit at home and send money off to the Muslims who were in need. They mounted their steeds or walked to the battlefield, willing to give all for the sake of Allah. I do read about the fathers and mothers and brothers and sisters of their wives refusing marriage to one of them for fear that they would die.

Subhanallah! The women were encouraging their men and felt pride at the prospect of a shaheed husband. No. It is not an easy matter to urge one we love to risk his life for the sake of Allah, but Allah tells us:

Say: If it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your mates, or your kindred; the wealth that ye have gained; the commerce in which ye fear a decline: or the dwellings in which ye delight - are dearer to you than Allah, or His Messenger, or the striving in His cause; - then wait until Allah brings about His decision: and Allah guides not the rebellious. 9:24

Our primary goal is to worship allah and not be among those who fear death – ours or our loved ones. This is the destruction of the Muslim nation. As rasul Allah warned us:

"The nations summon each other upon you as you call guests to eat from a plate of food", they said , "will we be few in number on that day O Messenger of Allaah?" He said, "no rather you will be many on that day, but you will be like the foam on the ocean. And Allaah will remove the fear in the hearts of your enemies and place in your hearts al-wahn". They said, "what is al-wahn O Messenger of Allaah?" He said, "love of this world and hatred of death."' (Sahih: Taken from a speech by Al AlBaani: www.ucl.ac.uk/~uczxisl/jihad.htm).

This class is not about encouraging men to go out for jihad. It is about how our actions and fears discourage them. We tell them that if they want Allah and jihad, they cannot have a Muslim family. They cannot be normal men because their path is a strange one. Brothers and sisters, the ones on a strange path are those who discourage the Muslim from jihad, for they are on a path other than Islam.

Allah says: Go ye forth, (whether equipped) lightly or heavily, and strive and struggle, with your goods and your persons, in the cause of Allah. That is best for you, if ye (but) knew.9:41

And Those who believe in Allah and the Last Day ask thee for no exemption from fighting with their goods and persons. And Allah knoweth well those who do their duty. 9:44

This is a great obligation upon every Muslim man, for the Prophet told us:

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle was asked, "What is the best deed?" He replied, "To believe in Allah and His Apostle (Muhammad)". The questioner then asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, "To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah's Cause." The questioner again asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, "To perform Hajj (Pilgrim age to Mecca) 'Mubrur, (which is accepted by Allah and is performed with the intention of seeking Allah's pleasure only and not to show off and without committing a sin and in accordance with the traditions of the Prophet)." Saih Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 2, Number 25:

Also, if we do not do this, if we deny this part of our deen, and we turn our backs on this great duty, we are turning our backs on the deen itself, for Islam is not a pick and choose religion. We do not have a right to deny one of Allah’s commands – either by words or actions – for those of us who do turn our backs, Allah says,

O you who believe! whoever from among you turns back from his religion, then Allah will bring a people, He shall love them and they shall love Him, they will be humble before the believers, mighty against the unbelievers, they shall strive hard in Allah's way and shall not fear the censure of any censurer; this is Allah's Favour, He gives it to whom He pleases, and Allah is Ample-giving, Knowing.5:54

Allah has told us that willingness to sacrifice our lives is a characteristic of the true believer. Allah further says:

Only those are Believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and have never since doubted, but have striven with their belongings and their persons in the Cause of Allah: Such are the sincere ones. 49:15

So it is upon us to raise our daughters to love to have a mujahid husband. It is upon us to have daughters that will raise sons who will willingly go to jihad for the sake of Allah, to be mothers who are willing to sacrifice their sons. Also, we must raise our sons to be fathers who will fight for the sake of Allah and instill this noble characteristic upon their sons.

We must stop loving this life and giving excuses. When I was young, I asked a friend of mine, whose dad was a general in the American Army, why we were unable to take back our hostages from Iran. She said her father had answered, “Our primary weapon is fear of annihilation. Muslims do not fear death, so how can we threaten them?” I will tell you how they will threaten us. They remove our fear of death and replace it with love for the world. Bye bye deen – bye bye threat.!

O Allah! Let us stop loving the life and fearing death. O Allah, return us to the honorable state of loving You and loving sacrifice for Your sake and living in this life as if a stranger – fighting to keep our deen strong, while not fearing but welcoming the death in doing so! Ameen.

  Muslims Wake Up!
Posted by: feba - 06-11-2005, 03:06 PM - Forum: Islam - Replies (5)

Muslims Wake Up!

I have noticed a disheartening trend among our teachers of Islam. Too many are trying to "make the deen easier" by watering it down. This can range from the "sheikh" who, when I became Muslim, told me it was halal to take a loan with interest because my education was a necessity to the "teacher" who uses the weak narration: "We have returned from the lesser jihad to embark on the greater jihad." They said: "What is the greater jihad?" He said: "The jihad of the heart, or the jihad against one's ego." to the "Imams" who stood by silently while mujahideen in Afghanistan were making tawaf at the graves.

In all these cases, if they have done even the most rudimentary research in these areas, they would have to know that they were stating incorrect information about Islam, which amounts to lying against Allah and His messenger. Yet, they felt, for whatever reason, that by minimizing the importance of the concepts, the questioner would not hate Islam and would be a better Muslim. This puzzles me. How can one be a better Muslim when one is committing haram acts and considering them halal?

For the first, we know that necessity in Islam is defined as life and death - and only as much as is necessary to sustain life. For instance. I am in jail. I am given pork to eat and alcohol to drink. I am starving and if I do not eat or drink I will die. In this case, it becomes halal for me to eat and drink what will sustain me -- keep me from death. This becomes not only halal but fard upon me. Now, let's analyze: I would not have died if I had not gone to school that semester. It would not have been life-threatening for me to wait until I had saved enough money. Yet, the "sheikh", probably under the fear that telling me it was haram would have taken away from Islam, tried to "ease" me into Islam by telling me it was O.K. The danger here was greater. He did not realize that what he did was indeed more dangerous. He taught me that the rules in Islam are very flexible, like the Christianity I had just left. I now believed that I could interpret them to suit my needs. Under this understanding, anyone can use interest for anything he/she "thinks" is necessary. So, when I thought it was necessary to own a car - or I could not get to work, I took a loan. It also made me understand that all the credit cards I had were O.K. cause I needed them. The reality was that I did not need the car, I could have taken a bus; I did not need the cards, I could have been patient, I did not need anything because my life was never in danger, but I had been taught that necessity in Islam was defined by what I considered necessary. This led me to inadvertently commit many sins that put me "at war" with Allah.

Allah says:

O you who believe! Be careful of (your duty to) Allah and relinquish what remains (due) from usury, if you are believers. But if you do (it) not, then be apprised of war from Allah and His Messenger; and if you repent, then you shall have your capital; neither shall you make (the debtor) suffer loss, nor shall you be made to suffer loss. 2:278-79

How did this help me be a better Muslim?

The second issue, is an apology for the Islamic concept of Jihad. This has successfully served to "keep us in place." The Muslim who is only concerned about Jihad of the self, sits idly by while Muslims are being exterminated, calling his congressman or holding protests, thinking he is accomplishing something instead of getting his lazy rear off his chair, going out to the lands of jihad, and risking his life and property for the sake of Allah. Allah says,

Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,- 4:95

Also, the Prophet said

"When you deal with interest, and hold fast to the tail of the cow, and become contented with agriculture, and you leave Jihad in the Way of Allaah, Allaah will permit your humiliation and will not lift it from you until you return to your deen." (Sahih: Taken from a speech by Al Albaani: www.ucl.ac.uk/~uczxisl/jihad.htm)

This so-called hadith about jihad of the self being the greater jihad can be easily exposed. Sheikh Al Albaani declared it weak as did Al Hafiz ibn Hajar al-Asqalani in the Tasdid al-Qaws. Al Hafiz Al Iraqi said in the Takhrij Ahadith al-Ahya': 'Al Bayhaqi transmitted it with a weak chain of narrators on the authority of Jabir, and Al Khatib transmitted it in his history on the authority of Jabir.'"

Anyone who is even an elementary student of Islam, must know this or can find it. No one who seriously cares about his deen will narrate something unless he knows it is sahih. Because even the ordinary Muslim on the street knows that narrating against the Prophet what he did not say will gain him a seat in the hellfire. The Prophet said: "...And whoever tells a lie on me intentionally, will surely take his place in the (Hell) Fire." Sahih Bukhari: Volume 4, Book 56, Number 667.

So why would someone teach such a concept? It waters down our deen and makes us like the Prophet warned that we would be as the Prophet warned:

So, how does lessening the importance of Jihad make us better Muslims? It seems to me, it makes us weak and vulnerable.

The last example are the "Imams" who stood by silently while the mujahideen were making tawaf at the graves. When questioned about this, they said that they did say anything because the people were ignorant, and teching them this would cause fitnah and remove them from Islam. This floored me. I mean -- HELLO-- IS ANYONE HOME UP THERE???? Isn't this shirk??? Does not this act take them from Islam??? Where are our priorities? Here are our mujahids, the fighters for the sake of Allah, making tawaf to graves. What is left?

On a lesser level, our "scholars" are constantly trying to make things easier on us, telling us its ok to wear a headpiece with pants and call it hijab, saying it is O.K. to shave or trim the beard, saying it is acceptable to go to that social gathering at work even though alcohol is being served because we will lose our jobs if we don't, saying it is O.K. to sell alcohol or pork as long as we do not touch it or consume it, saying it is O.K. to take a house loan because we need to establish a base in this country, saying it is O.K to have a credit card cause we need it in case we want to rent a car or in the case of an emergency...the list is endless.

As Muslims we have to stop expecting out teachers, scholars, Imams etc... to spoon feed us what we want to hear. We have to make them tell us the truth. There are so many true scholars available to us. We still have the Quraan, the authentic hadiths, the understandings of the companions and our greatest scholars. Why do we ignore this great body of evidence and insist on following the unsupported opinions of those who would have Islam be little more than a poor imitation of Christianity -- a religion of amilu without amilu. A religion of belief without action. Pick up the Quraan. How often do you see the word aminu - belief, without amilu beside it? Why is it that anytime someone calls to the truth -- showing the evidences, we call him a wahabi, a salafi, an extremist??? They are quoting the words of Allah and the words of His beloved prophet, and we are saying, "I think..."," I feel...", "But our deen is not hard...." What would we say to the Prophet himself? What horrible names would we call him because his words do not match our desires or our warped perceptions of right and wrong?

Lets WAKE UP!

Brothers and sisters, it is time to wake up. Allah did not put us here to get that illusive degree, that classy car, that great house, that beautiful wife, that perfect husband, those great kids. These are all distraction from the true goal. "O ye who believe! Let not your wealth nor your children distract you from remembrance of Allah. Those who do so, they are the losers." (63:9) We are here to worship Allah. This life is not supposed to be easy or perfect. This life is our prison, if we are true believers.

We are supposed to be building an escape tunnel with our deeds and our faith. Instead we are asleep in front of the TV, smelling of nachos and fear while scenes of our brothers' and sisters' extermination flash across the screen.

Islam is not easy. It is not hard. It is a religion that takes effort, commitment and belief. We have a great reward but also we have a great responsibility. What will we say to Allah when He questions us about our life in this world? What will we say to Allah when He questions us about our brothers and sisters in Kosovo, Somalia, Sudan, Kashmir, Palestine, Bosnia, Algeria, Ethiopia, Lebanon, India etc..... What will we say when He questions us about our credit cards, our school loans our houses and even masjids built from riba? What will we say when He questions us about the ignorant among us that we failed to teach because we thought it would make him/her hate Islam or think it was too hard? What will we say when Allah asks us about the deeds that supported our beliefs? What will we say????

I leave you with the following hadith which emphasizes the obstacles Allah placed in our way:

Narrated Abu Hurayrah: The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: When Allah created Paradise, He said to Gabriel: Go and look at it. He went and looked at it, then came and said: O my Lord! By Thy might, no one who hears of it will fail to enter it. He then surrounded it with disagreeable things, and said: Go and look at it, Gabriel. He went and looked at it, then came and said: O my Lord! By Thy might, I am afraid that no one will enter it. When Allah created Hell, He said: Go and look at it, Gabriel. He went and looked at it, then came and said: O my Lord! By Thy might, no one who hears of it will enter it. He then surrounded it with desirable things and said: Go and look at it, Gabriel. He went, looked at it, then came and said: O my Lord! By Thy might and power, I am afraid that no one will remain who does not enter it. Sunan Abu Dawud: Book 40, Number 4726.

Ya Allah! Wake up the Muslims! Ya Allah! Wake up the Muslims! Ya Allah! Wake up the Muslims! Ameen.

Assalamu alaikum

Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 36, Number 481:

Narrated Anas bin Malik:

The Prophet sent for a slave who had the profession of cupping, and he cupped him. The Prophet ordered that he be paid one or two Sas, or one or two Mudds of foodstuff, and appealed to his masters to reduce his taxes

Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 71, Number 584:

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

(The Prophet said), "Healing is in three things: A gulp of honey, cupping, and branding with fire (cauterizing)." But I forbid my followers to use (cauterization) branding with fire."

15 Tips to Earning Rewards from Allah
Posted by: feba - 06-10-2005, 03:10 AM - Forum: Islam - Replies (1)

15 Tips to Earning Rewards from Allah

1- Avoid Things that Allah has forbidden, including the great sins as well as continually performing the lesser sins, and perform what Allah orders us to perform: The prophet peace be upon him said: "Allah has recorded the good deeds and the evil deeds. Then he made them clear: He who has intended a good deed and does not do it, Allah writes it down with Him as a performed good deed; but if he intends it and does perform it; Allah records for him from ten good deeds to seven hundred times that or more than that. If he intends to do an evil deed and does not do it, then Allah writes it down as a good deed; but if he intends an evil deed and performs it, Allah records it as one evil deed" (Sahih Al-Jami)

2- Reciting the Quran and pondering over it's meanings: The Prophet peace be upon him said, "Whoever recites one word from the Book of Allah will be rewarded for a good deed and ten more like it; and I don't say that Alif Lam Mim is a word but Alif is a word and Lam is a word and Mim is a word" (Alif Lam Mim is 3 Arabic Characters.)

3- Guiding people to righteous deeds: The prophet peace be upon him said, "Whoever guides one to a good thing will get the same reward as the person who performs the deed" (Sahih Al-Jami)

4- Enjoining good and eradicating evil: Allah revealed in the Quran, {Those of the children of Israel who went astray were cursed by the tongue of David, and of Jesus, son of Mary. That was because they rebelled and used to transgress. They restrained not one another from the wickedness they did. Verily, evil was that they used to do} (Al-Maida:78)

This is one of the obligatory duties that many people fail to perform today. Due to this reason, sins are being committed openly and without shame and no one is saying anything about them. The prophet peace be upon him said, "If the people see an evil deed and they do not change it, then Allah may inflict them all with a punishment".

Allah says in the Quran: "And the believers, men and women, are protecting friends of one another, they enjoin the right and forbid the wrong .. "

5- Supplications to Allah: It's the best act of worship as the Prophet peace be upon him said, "The most virtuous act of worship is supplication" (Sahih Al-Jami). It's very important to be certain that Allah will answer your supplication, the Prophet peace be upon him said: "There is no Muslim on this earth who supplicates to Allah except that Allah will give him what he asked or He will remove some evil from him, as long as he does not supplicate for something evil or as long as he does not supplicate for cutting of the ties of kinship and as long as he does not become impatient and say, 'I supplicated and supplicated and I was not responded to'"

6- Marrying religious women: The prophet peace be upon him said, "A woman is married for her religion, wealth or beauty; marry the religious women and you will prosper". He also said, "A thankful heart, a tongue that remembers Allah and a pious wife that helps you in your worldly and religious matters, is better than what the people are amassing" (Sahih Al-Jami)

7- Bringing up pious children and training them to have good Islamic character: The prophet peace be upon him said, "A man will be raised some degrees in Paradise and he will say, 'For what reason am I receiving this ?' He will be told, 'Because of your son asking forgiveness for you'"

8- Having good manners and character: The prophet peace be upon him said, "The most beloved of you to me and the closest of you to me in the Hereafter are those of you who have the best manners; the most hated of you to me and farthest from me in the Hereafter are those of you who have the best manners, those who speak and do not even care about what they are saying" (Sahih Al-Jami), and he also said, "The person of good manners will get the same reward as the person who prays during the night and fasts during the day" (Sahih Al-Jami).

9- Performing many voluntary prayers: This is particularly beneficial during the last third of the night in which the gates of the heavens are opened and the supplications are responded to. The prophet peace be upon him said, "Allah waits until one half or two-thirds of the night has passed and He says, 'My slaves, shall ask from no one except Me. Whoever asks from Me, I shall respond to him. Whoever asks Me for something, I will give it to him. Whoever asks for my forgiveness, I shall forgive him. And this continues until the dawn" (Sahih Al-Jami).

Similarly, performing the Sunnan prayers, is also a way of gaining Allah's pleasure and reward. These Sunnan prayers are two rakats before the dawn obligatory prayer, four before the noon obligatory prayer and four after it, two after the sunset prayer and two after the night prayer and the witr prayer.

10- Being obedient and respectful to one's parents: This is one of the greatest ways to attain Allah's pleasure and reward. Allah mentions worshipping Him together with obeying one's parents. Allah says in the Quran, "Your Lord has decreed that you worship none save Him, and that you show kindness to parents. If one of them or both of them attain to old age with you, say not 'File' unto them nor repulse them, but speak unto them a gracious word. And lower unto them the wing of submission through mercy and say, 'My Lord, have mercy on them both as they did care for me when I was little'" (Al-Isra)

11- Jihad in the way of Allah: A hadith of the Prophet peace be upon him says, "Being on guard in the way of Allah for one month is better than perpetual fasting for a year. Whoever dies while guarding in the way of Allah will be safe from the great frightening. And he will be provided his provisions, and smell the scent from paradise, and receive the reward of the one who guards until Allah resurrects him" (Sahih Al-Jami)

12- Remembering Allah at all times: The prophet peace be upon him stated that Allah said, "I am as My slave thinks I am. I am with him when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself. I make mention of him to Myself and if me makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assembly better than it." (Al-Bukhari).

13- Speaking the truth and not fearing punishment of anyone: The prophet peace be upon him, "The leader of the martyrs is Hamza ibn Abdul Muttalib and a person who faces an unjust ruler and advises him to do good and he is killed because of his speech" (Sahih Al-Jami)

14- Giving charity and spending in the way of Allah: Allah says in the Quran, "Those who spend their wealth by night and day, privately and publicity, verily their reward is with their Lord, and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve" (Al-Baqara 274). And Allah also says, "And spend of that which We have provided you before death comes to one of you and he says, 'My Lord if only You would reprieve me for a little while, then I would give alms and be among the righteous.' But Allah reprieves no soul when its term comes, and Allah is aware of what you do" (Al-Munafiqoon).

15- Learning the beneficial knowledge: One should learn that knowledge that will benefit him in the Hereafter and act by it in order to be a good example for others. The authentic knowledge is the one that is based on Quran and Sunnah.

Why We Sisters Must Encourage Our Husbands To Go For Jihaad

In these turbulent times we are witnessing so many distressing events, our Ummah in Iraq are dying from cancer as a result of the depleted uranium dropped by our enemies in the Gulf war. Cancer rates have increased ten fold and there is no medication to ease the suffering of the dying due the sanctions imposed by Britain and America. These sanctions have killed one million innocents, half of which are children, who are dying from malnutrition and other related diseases. This is a slow death with no relief. One child is dying every six minutes and we shall be asked by Allah swt what we did to help our brothers and sisters, and feeling their pain in our hearts is not enough. If we were dying in this horrendous way, would we not weep for the indifference shown by our Ummah? Should we not love our brothers like we love ourselves?

Book 032, Number 6258: Sahih Muslim Nu'man b. Bashir reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.

When the armies of the crusaders entered Afghanistan indiscriminately dropping their cluster bombs, the whole Ummah watched. This is the story of a small boy who witnessed the effects of this so- called wonder bomb:

My name is Nguyen and I am fifteen years old. It was a sunny glorious day when my mother had just told me to lay the table for lunch. The next thing I heard was the air raid siren and I hurried to the shelter. But when I came out my mother and father were lying there covered in blood, and my sister Bihn had pieces of metal in her, and so did her doll. My street had fallen down. The street had been hit by cluster bombs, which spray small darts. These had entered the young girls body and continued to move around inside her for several days, causing internal injuries from which she died an agonising death. (Hidden Agendas by John Pilger).

The slaughter in Afghanistan was indiscriminate and continues, how many of our Mujahadeen brothers did we watch being taken away? One image of an Arab brother his face bleeding sat in the back of a car being taken away with some Pakistani brothers is an image I will never forget. They knew their fate, and it showed clearly on their faces, and we the Ummah watched silently. We should feel their pain as if it were our own husbands in that car. And we should encourage our husbands to fight for Allah swt so we may be safe from the day when we could be taken away. The events in America have proven how quickly things can change. Don’t we know that our time of death has already been determined by Allah swt, it was determined whilst we were still in the womb. So why are we so afraid of losing our husbands? If they were meant to die, they would surely die anyway irrespective of whether they went for jihad. And does Allah swt not provide our sustenance?

Book 033, Number 6390: Sahih Muslim Abdullah (b. Mas'ud) reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) who is the most truthful (of the human beings) and his being truthful (is a fact) said: "...The constituents of one of you are collected for forty days in his mother's womb in the form of blood, after which it becomes a clot of blood in another period of forty days. Then it becomes a lump of flesh and forty days later Allah sends His angel to it with instructions concerning four things, so the angel writes down his livelihood, his death, his deeds, his fortune and misfortune…"

So we should trust in Allah swt and accept his decree with patience and humility. If we are going to lose our husbands, then wouldn’t we rather lose them as Shaheed’s so they can intercede for us on the Day when terror will prevail? Wouldn’t we rather be rescued us from the fire? One Shaheed can intercede for seventy members of his family on the day of Judgement and Allah swt has promised Paradise for those seventy. And don’t we know if we encourage our husbands, we get the same reward as if we were fighting. Did Allah swt not tell us if we enjoin one another to do good, the one calling for good will get the same reward as the one doing the action.

We should trust Allah swt and know that Allah swt does not forsake a believer who strives with his life and wealth. We should know that Alhamduillah there are so many good brothers who would be happy to protect us should we find ourselves alone. Brothers who would love us only for the sake of Allah swt and provide for us. We should not view marriage in the same way that the kuffar view it. We should know that life is not just roses and romance as the media tries to portray. This is why 1 in 3 marriages fail in Britain alone. When the novelty fizzles, you find they go with some one new or simply divorce. No, we should know that we have to love one another for the sake of Allah swt and yes we should love and honour our husbands but we should love no one or nothing more that we love Allah swt. And we should be prepared to forsake the one we love for the One we love more. Allah swt will never leave a sincere believer and will always provide for him.

Remember Umm Salamah ra and the strength of her faith when she lost her beloved husband and asked Allah swt to grant her better. Look at the Mercy of Allah swt did He not give Umm Salamah all she asked for and more. Allah swt granted her the best husband from the best of mankind. SubhanAllah.

"O Lord, grant forgiveness to Abu Salamah. Elevate him among those who are near to You. Take charge of his family at all times. Forgive us and him, O Lord of the Worlds. Widen his grave and make it light for him."

Umm Salamah remembered the prayer her husband had quoted on his deathbed from the Prophet and began repeating it, "O Lord, with you I leave this my plight for consideration . . ." But she could not bring herself to continue . . . "O Lord give me something good from it", because she kept asking herself, "Who could be better than Abu Salamah?" But it did not take long before she completed the supplication.

Now as we speak our brothers are being rounded up in Palestine. They are been taken away in shackles to be tortured and murdered. This slaughter has gone on for more than 50 years. We hear Muslims say ‘Allah will send His angels to fight’ but this is nonsense Allah swt ordered us to fight. The Almighty will only send His angels when we fight, Allah swt is not going to fight for us. Rather, we have to obey Him and know that Allah will never forsake the one who fights in His cause. It is a mockery to think that Allah swt will send His Angels whilst we the Ummah sit at home filling our stomachs with food and our heads with nonsense. A'udhuBillaah.

Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change it themselves (viii. 53; xiii. 11).

None can influence a husband more than his wife, even if sometimes he may not show it. We can either be a blessing to our husbands and ourselves or we can be a cause of disaster to our husbands and ourselves.

Volume 4, Book 52, Number 110 Sahih Bukhari Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: I heard the Prophet saying. "Evil omen is in three things: The horse, the woman and the house."

We sisters should try to be strong and have faith in Allah swt and encourage our husbands to do good and we should remind him in a soft manner of the day when he will be called to account by Allah swt. We should reassure our husbands that Allah swt will provide for us and they should not worry for our well-being, for who knows if they will wake up tomorrow? And would we not be so proud if our husband died a Shadeed? And don’t we all want to be rescued from the fire?

"Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with their wealth and lives.' (4.95)

This is another thing, about Sisters looking at pictures or photos of Mujahideen:

For the record: There is nothing wrong with the sisters looking at photos of the mujahideen.

If it heals some of the anger in the hearts of the Believers then fine.

If it compels them or increases their determination to send their men out fesabeelillah, then fine.

Women are the backbone of any nation and that has never been more true for any nation than it has for the Muslimeen.

Women have fought in battle alongside men. They too have roamed the killing fields hunting down the kuffar. They have repelled attacks and they have preserved their honor. They have kept the wolves at bay for countless centuries. They have raised young lambs to become fierce lions who go into battle surrounded by enemies just like a fish goes into the sea surrounded by water - and these Lions of Allah, they achieve either of the Two Victories by His permission.

They have played an unforgettable part in the Seerah and throughout tarikhe-Islam. If it weren't for Faatimah Bintul Khattab then perhaps Umar [raa] would have never accepted Islam. If it weren't for the women then Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas would have never gone as deep into the lands of the Majousees as he did. If it weren't for women like Khalsah who sent all four of her sons into Qadisiyyah - then who would emulate her today? If it weren't for the women then Baybars would have never been able to pursue the Mongols with his ruthless pack of Ba7reetiye mujahideen. If it weren't for the women then Fateh Muhammad would have never liberated the City of Constantine.

If it weren't for the women who would tell their sons "...look at what they are doing to your sisters. Get up and go; I dont want to see you again..." then our lands would be even under more heavy oppression and tyranny today.
