Holding hands in Public
Posted by: NaSra - 08-04-2005, 03:38 AM - Forum: Woman and family - Replies (9)

Asalamalaikum

I was just wondering why we muslims (most muslims) look a young couple who are holding hands like this or like this or this . Me and my husband are still newly weds and we are both very young alhamdulilah. The stares that we have recieved from Muslims is really amazing, people will stop what they are doing, the husband will tap the wife's shoulder as in "see this disaster". The Men will stand and watch us. With this look . One time a group of Middle-eastern Guys came as a group to just look at us. Some of them had their hands on their mouth as in what a shame. Also because my husband is American European they automaticly assume that he's a kafir.

Me and My husband went somewherre with a friend of mine and her Brother & Mother. When we were saying salam and our day had ended, the Mother said to me, Oh I could almost feel how evil the people were thinking, you both are soo young, people assume that he's your boyfriend and that you are having a haram relationship with a nonmuslim. I said Alhamdulilah that they are not our judge.

Why do people always think of something disasterous when they see two young muslims who probably aren't of the same culture or nationality immediately people assume that we are upto no Good.

My cousin is married to a Bosnian Brother and mashaAllah she's 20 and he's 20. She's 6 months pregnant. She always tells me how people always give her the evils when they see them shopping together or anywhere else in public, and i'm not talking about non-muslims, i'm talking about Muslims. She was telling me how she believes in the evil eye and she fears that people's stares might cause her to fall or injure herself and lose her baby.

Muslim Terrorism must stop or it will destroy Islam.

Islam is a good religion, almost as good as Sikhism. Terrorism gives Islam a very bad name and makes it like a Satan Worshipping religion.

when aperson does abad deed,he/or she will try not to disclose it to others. The bad deeds are commited behind closed doors. But there are bad deeds ,which one commits openly,in broad daylight &in the presence of others, without realising that he iscommitting a sin. There is aperson who commits a sin not knowing that he is doing something wrong and there is a

person ,who knows well that he is committing a sin,but does not refrain from it,then it implies that he is doing something intentionly, having full knowledge that he doing a sinful deed. The sinner who commits asin knowingly &intentionly is a much greivous sinner than a one who commits a sin unknowingly.

The sins that is commited openly &in daylight-That sin is to abuse someone,to call someone by names,to ridicule,to accuse an innocent person,to speak in harsh

words with one,s elders and parents, and to use &utter vulger words.

Let us question ourselves;would we like to be abused, called by names, ridiculed, hear vulger words spoken in our presence orbeing treated by harsh words?then what right dowe have to act in a manner which we don,t prefer for ourselves.

Harmony, love &peace have avery prominent place in Islam. We are commanted by Allah,s Messanger(S.A.W)to choose that thing for others which one likes for oneself.

Let us analyze ourselves honestly whether wetake part in such sins mentioned above. If the answer is yes ,it is high time we realise and seek Allah,s forgiveness.Do it today before it is too late .May Allah save us from grave sins

Asalaamu alikum wa rhamatuhallahi wa barakatuh to my Brothers and Sisters,

Masha'Allah I found a very nice website that you can download lectures and many other things. It is just starting out but masha'Allah there are many things there to download. It needs more people there to share files with insha'Allah. You need a bit torrent program to get files and share with everyone else. Please check it out and insha'Allah help make it grow. It is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. SunniTorrents

Wa salaam,

Salam Alaikum..

I Just found a good story in my archives...I want share it you all...

_______________

DON'T FENCE ME IN

There was a little boy with a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, to hammer a nail the back fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Then it gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still here.

A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.

Asalamalaikum Brothers and Sisters

Wohoo it's been awhile since I been here. I just wanted to tell you all about the New Zealand Islamic Sisterhood Assembly that was held in Christchurch on Friday & Saturday. The Keynote Speaker of our gathering was Sister Yvonner Ridley.

It was Just a Sisters Conference masha'Allah no Brothers. We had so much fun. We had a COncert, Sisters from Palastine/Somalia/India/Malaysia performed their traditional dances. We had Plays performed by little muslims. We also had a fashion show where all different cultures showed their traditional clothes. Also The United-Muslimah-Youth-Group Of Christchurch performed Nasheeds and I was one of them . Sister Yvonner ridley gave us a lecture too. It was called "Are Muslim women really Oppressed"? It was masha'Allah a very great lecture. On that night we also invited nonmuslim women to the lecture and they have learned heaps about us which they didn't even know.

I never really went to islamic conferences especially the mixed ones. But When Brother Khalid Yaseen came I just had to go. So within this year Alhamdulilah Allah has blessed me to be in two gatherings that I have always wanted to be in and listen to. Masha'Allah .

Sister Yvonne Ridley has told us who the taliban truly are. They are not the rapists, the murders/the women hating men that CCN & BBC & FOX NEWS make's them to be. They are honourable men who have fought to keep the word of Allah high and who respect muslim women. Sister Yvonne ridley said "

I thank Allah SubhanaAllah that I was captured by the Talibans and not by the US troops
. We all know what the American troops have done to young girls in their prisons we all know how they even took the dignity of men let alone Girls and Women!!! And would Allah have not brought their cruelty forward it would have remained hidden. We all have seen the pictures and Allah knows how much they have still managed to keep hidden.

I am so happy that I have met her, I have always wanted to ask her so many questions about Afghanistan and The Talibans and now all of my questions are finally answered, Allahu Akbar!!

Insha'Allah she'll give one more Lecture, tomorrow in Public for Brothers/Sisters/Nonmuslims.

Scores killed in Egypt resort blasts

Saturday 23 July 2005, 20:44 Makka Time, 17:44 GMT

Bombs have ripped through shopping and hotel areas in the Red Sea resort of Sharm al-Shaikh, killing at least 88 people and wounding 200 in Egypt's worst attack since 1981.

Shaken tourists spoke of mass panic and hysteria as people fled the carnage in the early hours, with bodies strewn across the roads, people screaming and sirens wailing.

The regional governor said two car bombs and possibly a suitcase bomb had rocked the resort, popular with divers, European holidaymakers and statesmen who have attended world summits in the place Egypt has called "the city of peace".

Car bomb

One blast tore the front off the Ghazala Gardens Hotel in Naama Bay, the site of most of the resort's luxury hotels. A car broke into the hotel compound and exploded in front of the building, South Sinai Governor Mustafa Afifi said.

"There was a blast then a fireball... Everyone panicked," said Dutch tourist Rene von Denberg, who was sitting at a cafe smoking a water pipe when the bomb hit the hotel.

The bombings sparked panic in

the busy resort

"It felt like an earthquake. It was an almighty boom and the whole hotel was covered with dust," added Londoner Robert Hare.

An official source at Sharm al-Shaikh International Hospital said 88 were dead and about 200 injured. Egyptian authorities flew many critically injured people to Cairo.

Most of the victims were Egyptians, but the Tourism Ministry spokeswoman said seven non-Egyptians were dead, including a Czech and an Italian, and 20 injured.

President resolute

The injured foreigners were nine Italians, five Saudis, three Britons, a Russian, a Ukrainian and an Israeli Arab, spokeswoman Hala el-Khatib told reporters. But the British Foreign Office in London said eight Britons were injured.

Mubarak visited the resort and

condemned the attacks

In a short statement read on television, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said: "This will only make us more determined to pursue terrorism and dig it out by the roots... We will not give in to its blackmail, or seek a truce."

A group claiming links to the al-Qaida organisation said it carried out the bombings in retaliation for "crimes committed against Muslims", according to an internet statement.

The statement, which was not carried on major al-Qaida websites, was signed by the Abdullah al-Azzam Brigades of the al-Qaida Organisation in the Levant and Egypt. It was not possible to authenticate the claim.

Police arrested 35 people in the Sharm al-Shaikh area, security sources said; but it was not clear if they were suspected of close links with the bombers.

Officials said the attacks might

be linked to the Taba bombing

Egyptian Interior Minister Habib el-Adli said it was too early to say whether al-Qaida or other Islamist groups had any connection with the bombings; but there was probably a link with attacks further north last October.

Egyptian authorities blamed those attacks, which killed 34 people mostly at the Taba Hilton on the Israeli border, on a Palestinian leading an unaffiliated group.

Last month, Israel stepped up warnings to its own citizens, saying the risk of another such attack had risen.

The attacks on Saturday were the worst in Egypt since Islamists stormed a security headquarters in the southern city of Assiut in 1981, killing 120 police.

'I have a bomb'

Ahmed Mustafa, a waiter at a coffee shop near the first of the explosions, said a massive fireball tore through the car park outside a shopping mall in Sharm al-Sheikh town. It was about 1.15am.

The explosion turned cars into skeletons of twisted metal, blew down masonry on nearby buildings and shattered windows for hundreds of metres around.

The bombs caused serious

damage across the town

Officials said a car had exploded there, but an eyewitness said a man had walked into a crowd with a large travel bag and announced in Egyptian Arabic: "I have a bomb."

Some people moved away, but others thought he was joking, said the witness, who asked not to be named. Two minutes later an explosion took place where he had put the bag, she added.

"I saw a car flying up in the air, people running," restaurant owner Yehya Mohammed said by telephone. "I do not think I will ever forget this in my life. This is a horrible setback for tourism here."

Hurghada visit

Sharm residents said they heard two more explosions coming from Naama Bay in quick succession, blasts that could be felt 10 km away. Witnesses said the first of these hit the hotel and the second a taxi rank.

Tourist Fabio Basone said: "People were trying to run in any direction to get away, but were not clear where to go."

Mubarak cut short a holiday on the Mediterranean coast and flew to Sharm al-Shaikh, officials said.

He then flew to the rival resort of Hurghada, on the African shore of the Red Sea, to reassure tourists during a walk-about and to make sure that security was tight.

The attacks had an immediate impact on tourism as European travellers cancelled trips to the popular destination.

Some in Sharm el-Shaikh left early for home. But

others vowed to go ahead with their holidays, saying they could not avoid bombs wherever they were.
