As-Salaam alaikum,
Ali Ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, quotes the Noble Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, as having said:--

        ''There is none whose final abode is not known to Allah from beforehand-
          whether it is going to be Hell or Heaven.''

The audience said, ''Should we not then hang on to the scroll of destiny and suspend action?''

The Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:- ''No, do your part for what is pre-ordained for one has been made
                                                                                easy for him. If he is fortunate, the path of goodness has been
          smoothened for him but if he is doomed, evil deeds are equally facile to him.''

He then recited the ayat/verse: ''But as for him who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), and accepts whatever is good,
                 We surely will smoothen the path of happiness.'' (Bukhari and Muslim).

As-Salaam alaikum,
Abdullah Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, says that one day the Noble Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, was talking about prescribed prayers and he said:--

       ''Whoso is regular in his prayers it will illumine his face, testify to the firmness of his
         faith and be the cause of his salvation on the Day of Judgement. And whoso neglects
        the prayers will neither acquire any glow nor staunchness of faith nor any means of
        salvation and he will join, on the Day of Resurrection, the company of Korah (Qarun),
        Pharaoh, Haman and Ubay Ibn Khalaf.'' (Ahamd, Baihaqi, Darimi).

Mind offering the 5 Daily Prayers on time, promptly, regularly...and preferably, in congregation with other Muslims in the Masjid.

As-Salaam alaykum,

   In ayat 8 of Surat Tahreem of the Holy Qur'an (66:8), Allah Ta'ala says:--

           ''O you who believe, truly turn to Allah with sincere repentance
           [Taubatun Nasooha]: in the hope that your Lord will remove from you your ills..''

What is sincere repentance? Sayyadi Abdullah Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said that sincere repentance means that a person's heart is ashamed, his tongue seeks forgiveness and he resolves never to repeat the sin he or she committed.

And a certain wise man has mentioned that Allah's acceptance of Tauba (Repentance) can be recognized by 4 signs as follows:--

(1) A person guards his tongue from futile talk, lying and backbiting.

(2) He habours no jealousy or enmity for anyone.

(3) He forsakes evil company.

(4) He prepares for death, is always remorseful, always repenting and always obedient to Allah's Orders.

Let us all repent....

Glad Tidings To You If....

As-salaam alaikum,

   Rakb al-Misri reported that the Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:--

       ''I bring good tidings to the one who is humble while mindful of the honor of
        being created a human being; also to the one who has given up his self-regard,
        yet does not beg for favors; to the generous one who spends freely for Allah's
        sake from what he possesses; to the one who is compassionate to those in need;
        to the one who seeks the company of the wise and knowledgeable.

        I bring good tidings to the one who gains his livelihood lawfully with his own hands;
        to the one who cleanses his heart; to the one whose inner beauty shines in his face;
        to the one who holds back his anger; to the one who does not say what is not to be
        said; and to the knower who acts upon his knowledge.'' (Tabarani)

May we be among those being addressed as recipients of these glad tidings, ameen.

As-Salaam alaikum,

Ahmad is one of the 98 or so names of our dear Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, the coolness of the hearts of believers on the Day of Reckoning. Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, called him Ahmad in the Holy Qur'an:--

     ''And remember when Isa son of Maryam said, 'O children of Isra'el, I am
      Allah's Messenger to you, confirming the previous Book Taurat before me
     and conveying the glad tidings of the Messenger who will come after me,
     his name is Ahmad.'' (Saffi- 61:6)

Do Not Be Bankrupt.

As-Salaam alaikum,

   On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, it was reported that the Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, asked:--

   ''Do you know who the bankrupt person is?'' They said: ''A bankrupt man amongst us is one who has neither
    dirham with him nor wealth.'' He said: ''The bankrupt person of my nation would be he who comes on the Day
    of Resurrection with prayers and fasts and Zakat but he hurled abuses upon this person, brought calumny
   against that person, unlawfully consumed the wealth of that person, shed the blood of that person, and beat
   that person. So his good deeds would be credited to the deeds of those people [by way of retaliation] and if
   his good deeds fall short to clear the account, their sins would be added to his and he would be thrown in the Fire.'
                                                                                                                                                    (Sahih Muslim No. 2581/6579).

Be mindful, do not be bankrupt.

As-Salaam alaikum,
As you are aware, the Sunnah refers to the commands, prohibitions, sayings, actions and tacit approvals of the the Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam. The whole of the Sunnah falls under the Command of Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, in His Book:--

"Whatsoever the Messenger gives you [then] take it and
Whatsoever he prohibits you from, [then] refrain from it.'' (al-Hashar- 59:7)

Mohammad Sallah Allah a`lyhee wa sallam

Praise be to Allah Lord of the Worlds, prayer and peace be upon our Messenger Mohammad,

Every now and then some disturbances occur worldwide bringing the name of our Messenger Salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam in disrespect. The usual reaction from Muslims is fury and protest. But did anyone ever think why Mohammad Salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam is the one who is constantly under attack? I mean why not Budda, Rama, Shiva, Ibrahim, Moses...etc.

Hard question to be answered quickly, as each time has it is own circumstances, but in general, people only attack what is correct specially if they are unable to follow.

As Muslims, it is incumbent upon us to help those who dont know, learn from proper and verified sources.

اغتنم خمسا قبل خمس شبابك قبل هرمك وصحتك قبل سقمك وغناءك قبل فقرك وفراغك قبل شغلك وحياتك قبل موتك

“Take (benefit from) five before (the occurrence of) five: Your youth before old age; and your health before sickness; and your wealth before poverty; and your free time before pre-occupation; and your life before death.”

[Ibn Abi Shaybah, 34319; Mustadrak al-Hakim, 7846 / 7915 – who classed it as saheeh “on the conditions of Bukhari and Muslim” (see ‘Saheeh al-Jaami’, 1077 and ‘Saheeh Targheeb wat-Tarheeb’, 3355)]

It is comprehensive, clear, straightforward and makes it easy for us to identify our goal and purpose of our life rather than losing track.

Quran and Hadeeth on Cornoa virus/COVID19

How can we see the pandemic in light of Quran and hadeeth, is there any clue or indicator that tells us the reason for it??? people are engaging in speculations, interpretations and assumptions, they keep busy with numbers of new infections, deaths and recovered cases, do we need to do that? or we need something else?

1. Evil (sins and disobedience of Allah, etc.) has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned (by oppression and evil deeds, etc.), that Allah may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return (by repenting to Allah, and begging His Pardon). (َQuran 30: 41)

2. And fear the Fitnah (affliction and trial, etc.) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may afflict all the good and the bad people), and know that Allah is Severe in punishment. (this ayah makes me too scared) (Quran 8:25)

3. And your Lord would never destroy the towns wrongfully, while their people were right-doers. (Quran 11:117)

4. Verily the likeness of (this) worldly life is as the water (rain) which We send down from the sky, so by it arises the intermingled produce of the earth of which men and cattle eat until when the earth is clad with its adornments and is beautified, and its people think that they have all the powers of disposal over it, Our Command reaches it by night or by day and We make it like a clean-mown harvest, as if it had not flourished yesterday! Thus do We explain the Signs in detail for the people who reflect. (Quran 10:24)

Narrated Abdullah Ibn Omar that the Messenger salla Allah a`alyhee wa sallam came to us saying O people of Muhajereen (immigrants) there are five issues if you will be inflicted with them and I seek refuge to Allah that you would not live when they occur, never fornication/immorality would spread among people till they commit it publicly except that plague and other unprecedented diseases which were never experienced before among their predecessors would spread and prevail, never people would cheat while weighting and scaling except that they suffer tough times, food shortage and unjust rulers, never people refrain from paying Zakat for their money except that they would be denied rain from sky and if it was not for animals they would have never received rain, never people violate the covenant of Allah and His Messenger except that Allah Sends on them an enemy from outside to take part of what is in their hands, and when their rulers don’t rule with the book of Allah and start selecting from what Allah revealed except that Allah will cause them to fight one another.” (reported by Ibn Majeh)

I believe it is quite clear, may Allah Pardon us all and lift this major trial and test,

Ayat 57- Surat Zariyat Considered.

As-Salaam alaikum,

Ayat 57 of Surat Zariyat of the Holy Qur'an (51:57) reads:--

"No sustenance do I require of them, nor do I require that

they should feed Me."

This establishes the fact that Almighty Allah is free of needs and by definition beyond the concerns of whether man worships or serves Him or not. Man, however, for his/her own sake, needs to establish a relationship to Allah. This relationship is that of Abudiyyah (servitude)... as Allah Ta'ala points out in the Qur'an:--

"I have only created jinns and men, that they may serve Me." (51:56)

Hidden, but discernible in this unique relationship of abject servitude, only to Allah, is the secret of the ultimate freedom of man from all other bondage(s). This servant of Allah, His sincere bondsman, is free of all earthly gods and goddesses... be they of power, wealth, beauty, race or color. We must serve Allah Ta'ala and turn to Him for guidance in all our endeavors..

Most Beloved Words To Allah Ta'ala.

As-Salaam alaikum,

May I have the pleasure of reminding us all that the Noble Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, mentioned that:--

   "The most beloved words to Allah are four:- SUBHAAN-ALLAH; ALHAMDULILLAH; LA-ILAHA ILLALLAH and ALLAHU AKBAR.

   It makes no difference with which one you begin." [reciting]. (Sahih Muslim)

And very much related to this is the Prophet's saying:--

"To say 'Subhanallah' and 'Alhamdulillah' and 'Laa-ilaha illallah' and 'Allahu Akbar' is more beloved

to me than that from which the sun rises." (Sahih Muslim).

In otherwords, reciting these Noble phrases/words is more valuable than all this dunya and the universe. Indeed, this dunya does NOT weigh more than a wing of a mosquito in Allah's eyes as we learnt in the Hadith where the Prophet, alaihis-Salaat Was-Salaam, said:--

     "If the value of this dunya weighed the wing of a mosquito, Allah would

     never give a cup of water for the unbelievers to drink." (Tirmidhi)

In view of this, we should include the recital of these words that Allah Ta'ala loves, in our daily Zikr.... mornings and evenings...several times over (may be 100 times each), when we sit to Remember Allah.

Tawheed Summarized.

As-Salaam alaikum,

From whatever angle you examine it, Tawheed (the Absolute Oneness of Allah) in Islam is contained in 4 phrases as follows:--

Subhanallah (Glory be to Allah)

Alhamdulillah (All Thanks be to Allah)

La ilaha illallah (None is worthy of worship but Allah)

Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) and La hawla wala quwwata illa billah ( we have strength or power to do anything, except with Allah's leave)

Taken together these encompass Tawheed (worshipping Allah alone) and qadr (pre-decree).

Ibn Awfaa said that a man came to the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, and said: "I cannot learn the Qur'an, so teach me something that will suffice me. He said, [recite] Subhanallah, Walhamdulillah, Wa laa ilaha illallah, Wallahu akbar, Wala hawla walaa quwwata illa billah..." (Abu Dawud 832, Nisa'ee 2/143)

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him reported: "Shall I inform you of a phrase which is under the throne and from amongst the treasures of Paradise?" Say, 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah', Allah will say: 'My Servant has submitted himself in intention, action and worship'. (Hakim, Darabi, Fath al Baari 11/501)

A servant does not control any of his/her affairs; he does not have the means to repel harm or the ability to attain goodness except by Allah's Will. A servant cannot change disobedience to obedience, sickness to health, weakness to strength, deficiency to perfection except by Allah's Help. What Allah wills happens and what He does not will won't happen. The affairs of creation are tied to His Decree and Pre-Destination, Tabaraka Wa Ta'ala.
