I think the internet is probably the worst place for any kind of dawa. It allows people to misinterpret things, not to mention, in discussion groups.... people are telling other people how to live thier life as if they were in that country. It's just too many opinions that one person can handle at one time.

Jazaki Allah khairan for your input, since this is how u see it, and the thread is mainly aiming at measuring opinions for us to lay more focus on the appropriate tool. But let me explain a point here. when the issue involves the explanation of Islam to a non Muslim who is searching and considering, it is crucisl that the Muslim presenter introduces authentic and correct info, it has nothing to do with telling people how to live their lives. It has to do with presenting what Islam is in the proper form, not to misinform. The problem stems when some people out of major concern and desire to bring others to the fold sort of like overlooking points in the course of Dawa which is uncalled for. I remember reading a 10 year or so revert on another board saying how he was misinformed at the beginning because people wanted to make it easy for him to join.


Alhamdulelah may Allah Allow us all to put only what Pleases Him in any form and at any time.

I find articles a very effective tool. If you provide people with a chance to reply to the article then that is even better. I don't think discussion forums on there own are valuable. People need knowledge and space to learn by themselves. By providing an e-mail address where they can go when they have questions is a good option I think.
