Salaam Alaikum!

The sad part about the Abu Gharib prison hub-jub is that there's nothing novel about it.

The horrifying pictures that we witnessed were like anything else in "Third World" (if you like to employ the term) countries. Both Arab governments "AND" present and previous American presidential administrations willfully stuck their heads in the sands of the Araby while vile and nefarious regimes did their thing.

In the meanwhile, both Arab govts and the current administration (including Jaques Chirac in France) in the White House need to re-examine how they handle despot regimes instead of playing kissy-kiss or pussy-foot.

but if we were to take this approach... an approach that says that because people do wrong their religion is wrong then what about christianity....

wasn't HITLER a christian....

arent those child molester preists christian.....

what about the hindus

arent the tamil tigers hindus

what about all this....

........................................................................................

I agree with u here Naseeha............I nerver heard people saying 'Christianity' taught Hitler to do so............Or this kinda ! so y they r blaming a few people's actions to millions others? This is JUST so lame ! These kinda people always had a problem wid Islam............

Is killing of ONE man now more important than killings of MANY by the 'Great' US troops.............who kill innocents in the name of "war" ! HOW can this be justified?? [Image: sad.gif]

I agree with you totally. The killing of civilians anywhere can never be justified...be it Iraq...

or Palestine...

or America...

or Israel.

This issue whether it is justified or not is argumentative and will continue on and on. What it is beyond doubt is that it is a repercussion. However in the mist of all this is it not strange that everytime America's policy and motive is at its lowest "shame", and they could have not been worse than they were over the last weeks, and are faced by International condemnation led by their two houses. Somewhere some place Al-Qaeeda or an arab 'terrorist' group does something that takes the spotlight off from them. [Image: rolleyes.gif]

Ironically though it has been the case ever since the start on the war in Afghanistan.Which makes you wonder what is the link in here? Furthermore this sort of puts the catalyst of the whole war against 'terrorist' into perspective. Some of us need to be convinced still that twenty or so Arabs have so coherently organised and carried out the hijacking of four planes causing the havoc of 9/11.

Lets not doubt though that the Bush's administration is at war against Islam. What I question is the fear factor he created for his people in order to carry out his intention whether they are of genuine or tools used to meet his ends. Just think of how many people who were vocal against American troops abuse have changed their mind after seeing the beheading?

Innocent Iraqi men, women, minors and childern were raped by the Judeo-Christian crusaders. Savage dogs were set to tear their body (including probably their reproductive organs) and left to die from bleeding.

Are they not humans? All Bush and his evil administration could say was " Distasteful pictures".....sorry but sorry is not enough. The Dignity of the detainees and prisoners are all destroyed. You cant bring that back, never.

Ps: My sympathy still remains with the muslims.

Sad, but reality. The high attention that this beheading has recieved is only to divert the attention away from what happend at Abu Gharib Prison. In "You Decide 2004" what can one expect?

[interestingly, I went to a lot of conservative and Republican websites and journals over the course of the week, and little or not attention was given to the Abu Gharib photos. Typical.]

Don't be so norrow, Phat. Take any academic, political or contemporary journal and none of them took the time to mention the Abu Gharib attrocity. Instead, they wasted a lot of electronic space attacking the man who exposed the Abu Gharib pornography--Seymour Hersh. Remeber, it was only after Seymour Hersh's article in the "New Yorker" that attention was given. The conservative magazine howled for three editions about the beheading but nowhere did they mention the Abu Gharib fiasco--thus confirms my media shift.
