I'm off to bed, and will respond further tomorrow.

Just wanted to make it clear that this is what my intentions are as well. Not here to blame you Muslimah. Don't want you to get that impression,

Good morning Phat got a good coffee.

well who said I took it that u r blaming me, we do get some conflicts but I fully understand your aim. Phat was never taken this way. Same to u Khairan. Why would anyone blame me personally. Alhamdulelah i can not see a chicken being slaughtered. Iam serious about this. and may be Khairan would understand that I am not supposed to feel bad for this. But well I just cannt.

good day all

I just read on the news that SA, the Emirates, and Jordan condemned the killings. It's good to know that Muslim nations aren't turning a blind eye; I hope this continues.

As salam alaikum

Why are countries called muslim countries when they have muslims living there? Nations with christians living there are not called Christian. They are called Western.

This is just something that popped into my mind while reading this thread. It might be a topic for a new thread but since it originated with this conversation I am posting it here.

As was stated before, the leaders of "muslim" countries are in no way representative of the muslim people or Islam. So why are they so readily linked? Should not the responce of Islam be coming from the imams and scholars? Are they not a better representative? When the Catholic posistion is desired, the pope is questioned. When other christian sects' views are wanted, the clergy and ministers are asked. We do not ask the leaders of Italy and Mexico about the Catholic position even though these are predominately Catholic nations.

I have no conspiracy or theory of my own. I was just struck by this as I read. Does anyone have a rational reason for this?

So, it is nice that the leaders of those nations have condemned such acts but does that really mean that muslims have followed suit? What are the leaders in Islam saying? I have not come across much about this point myself.

As salam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu

as it is evening now on my hemisphere, well, two points came to mind:

1. Why is it always when things like this happen (which was labelled as retaliation in other words a reaction, may be a strong one, but every action has a reaction equal in strength, am I not right) besides the point, why do I see non Muslims rushing into the forum with Ayahs and hadeeth about Islamic teaching related to the incident per se? Why is that I wonder
???????

2. Although I am really tired of saying this, but well why not repeat myself:

why do we have always to apologise and condemn when Muslims have been really slaughtered almost every where without much concern, may be only now people are becoming alert?

Sorry I said two points pls be patient with me:

3. Sobhan Allah, the Messenger said in a hadeeth what means that one of the signs of the Day After is the increased level of Haraj the companions asked what is haraj, he said an increasing level of murder, the man might be walking and get killed without knowing why. Truth sayer is our beloved Messenger much prayer and peace be upon him.

Dan I agree with naseeha, just look at the timing??

Frankly, I think it's Western egoism that is partly responsible for why Muslims must always apologize. But, I maintain that someone, somewhere, has to care enough about principles to rise above the brutality, to be better than their enemy. It is, after all, how the early Muslims and Christians survived isn't it?This is why I object when I hear people using the defence of "Look what they had to endure" etc. If violence is done to you, and you revisit it upon your enemy, you will suffer retaliation. Once you bring hatred into the mix, as is the case with Israel and Palestine, or even with the U.S. and Russia during the Cold War, you make it impossible for either side to back down.

What irks me is how willing Muslims can be to justify violence by invoking verses about defending oneself and fighting one's enemy. The same propaganda is used by Islamophobes to show that Islam is a violent and brutal religion. Why don't people ever recall that the Qur'an says it is better to forgive, or that the Prophet spared every single one of his enemies when he finally took Mecca? How about the Jewish servant girl he set free after she tried to poison him, because he felt she was justified in seeking revenge for the defeat and exile of her clan? I see these things brought up when people are trying to defend Islam against charges of barbarism, but never self-critically, never to say that Muslims should change their approaches or their attitudes.

The West isn't the only side guilty of selective memory.

YEAH WHY????

My brothers and sisters in another thread I put up a book called "the protocols of the learned elders of zion" i will not go into it here but here is the link read it for your self ok..

http://islamsms.com/bb/showthread.php?...=&threadid=1492

in this book the zionists spoke about controlling the minds of the masses by controlling the media...

whether we believe in it or not we cannot say that this is totally false with absolute certainty...

take for example... i was reading an email that my good freind sent me... i had no idea what was inside... when i opened it.... i saw the most horrible thing.... for one i saw the pics of the iraqi abuse... and then i saw some pics that the jewish controlled CNN and BBC ETC... didn't EVEN MENTION.... i saw pics of coalition soldiers(or shall i say soldiers of the shayateen) RAPING IRAQI WOMEN....

now ask yourself

why wasnt this mentioned by the media...

why isnt there a commission of enquiry into that...huh???

the media is feeding off the majority of the population of this world that is either confuse, gullible or terribly agnostic... and they are creating people who would make it their sole purpose to attack islam

JUST LOOK AT THIS THREAD.....

WHY DO WE APOLOGISE?????????

every man shall pay for his own deeds... WHY MUST WE APOLOGISE FOR THE ASINIE ACTIONS OF A FOOLISH FEW....

WHY?????

MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS BEWARE.....

TO APOLOGISE FOR THIS IS TO FALL INTO THEIR TRAP....

I have been having some problems lately with a few people from my country....

we must realise this trap...

when a non muslim comes to you and tells you about these things..,

DO NOT APOLOGISE!!!!!!!!!

is this our approach to da'wah.... is this how we call to islam???

The answer is an EMPHATIC NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if we do this we are going against the way of the rasul....

HOW DID THE RASUL CALL TO ISLAM.....

my brothers and sisters he didnt do so by apologising for dumb actions of others...

he called to one thing....

ALLAH

TAUHID

لا اله الا الله

if we fall into the trap of apologizing then we will always have our back against the walls...

STOP THE DEFENSE START THE OFFENCE....

STOP DEFENDING ISLAM...

ISLAM IS THE PERFECT WAY OF LIFE....

ATTACK OTHER DEENS WITH OUR PERFECT TAUHID....

attack them with our 'aqeedah...

attack them with our wisdom...

if we take this approach then we may all (including myself) not even bother with threads such as these...

we may all not be bothered by those who are obstinate...

these people will come to attack you as long as you give da'wah...

brothers and sisters...

i leave you with this...

allah has made this deen perfect (quran 5:3) we do not need to defend it...

instead let us be KHILIFAA

let us be da'iis

let us spread this word AS IT SHOULD BE SPREAD....

(Assalam)

P.S:this post was meant for the MUSLIMS...

exactly, that is why at my first post I said dont worry Islam is fine and we will continue improving. I felt that we are always coming here in fear for the image of Islam to be distorted.

No I am not here for this, Islam is the true religion. Individual incidents, if really purpturated by Muslims, shall be taken care of by Allah. My duty is not to join such acts.

As I said Allah is responsible for all, I am only responsible for myself. No I am also responsible to give dawah:

to my family first according to Quran. To my close relatives and so forth. we follow Quran in our matters of priorities.

Sobhan Allah, I had a friend studying in France at the time of 9/11, she told me that book stores ran out of Quran copies the next day.

So while we really appreciate your concern Phat and John about Islam. BUt rest assured Insh a Allah it will be fine.

A part of me is telling me that there is something wrong with this....but a bigger part of me is saying that this can't overshadow what has been done already!

I saw 4 or 5 guys in masks and a "claim" that they were muslims....no one has claimed responsibility for it. How many of you would honestly be shocked if it was US special forces that made the tape?

You have to be pretty naive to believe that a person who's home has been invaded, his people massacred and his natural resources looted will act "rationally"(what's so rational about 200 5000 pound bombs dropped on a village in Afghanistan?).

And anyway, what on earth was he doing there? Apparently he was looking to get a contract from the invaders and in my books that constitutes as stealing and hence makes him an enemy. The only innocent people are those who are truly working for the relief agencies with no hidden agendas. Everyone else is a target, if you want to be safe, get out. Don't they get it, they are not wanted there.

Anyone suporting this war is an enemy.... anyone supporting this lying, arrogant and greedy administration and its greedy accomplices ( Halliburton) furthering its effort in exploiting Iraq and other muslim and under developed nation is an Enemy. Nick Berg supported this war and administration, and if the american people can turn their heads and call muslim deaths and abuse "a tragedy and shame"....then i can turn my head in the same direction =>"this death was a tragedy and shame"

At the end of the day, even if the scholars deem this to be wrong, my sympathy will only be with the Muslims- sorry just not enough to go around considering how many Muslims receive worse fates at the hands of our enemies I'm sure you can understand why.

America is reaping what it sowed, face it, this is a taste of Americas own medicine.

oh and did I hear Al-Qaida? Gee I didn't see that one coming!

FeeAmanaAllah...
