Wa aleikum salam
Nice question JazakallahKhair
I'm pretty sure this is not a hadeeth. I think it is a saying of one of the salaf. This is the closest i could find in my books.
Hamdûn al-Qassâr said,
“If one of your brothers commits an error, then seek ninety excuses for him, and if not, then you are the blameworthy one.”
Not exactly the daeel you asked for.
So lets see if someone else could come up with it.

Assalam aleikum
Well as no one else has come forward!
Do you know if its a saying of the salaf Abu Dujanah? I think i remember reading that there's no evidence for it as a hadith, but i can't remember my source.

Walaykum Salaam
I think the 70 excuses one is attributed to one of the Salaf, but I haven't seen anything to substantiate that either.
