How the Islam handles 'rebellion' and 'serious crimes'?
#1
I'm not very familiar with the Islam faith, that's why I'm here for [Image: wink.gif] to learn more about it. Now I have a question I hope I may be able to explain myself properly. The Islam have certain rules that Muslims must follow, what happened when a Muslim doesn't abide by those rules and they 'preach' certain doctrine that is not in harmony with the Quran itself? Is there a punishment or something the person get from teaching what we could call 'false doctrine'?. I mean, in most religions, when somebody do something against that particular religion the person may face excommunication (if they commit a serious crime for instance) How is it in the Islam? What happened when a person preaches or tries to teach to others something that is different from the Islam?.

Hello Soledad.

I dont know whether this thread is directed to me, anyways the answer to your question is this, depends what crimes are committed. And what a person is preaching.

I suggest you read about what happened to Musaylama the liar, those who refused to pay Zakah etc at the time of the four rightly guided caliphs (Khulafa ‘Rashideen).....I think by doing this you would get your answer.

So like i said before depends on what a person is preaching etc.

Yes that's one part of the question.

The other part is if somebody committed a serious crime such as stealing or commiting fornication, what system has the Islam to solve the situation? is the person somehow 'excommunicated' from the organization or something? or the person can still being a Muslim after he/she committed a serious crime. In most religions, the person will be excommunicated then they can repent and go back to the Church and if necessary be baptized again. How is it in the Islam?. Thanks for the answers.

Solidad, u r talking about pentalites:

Stealing will get the person's hand to be chopped off.

Fornication: If one is married, shall be stoned to death (both of course male or female), however, for the crime to be confirmed, 4 people (men) must observe the two parties in the act to the extend that a thread shall not go through between them. Or the perperturator goes and reports him/herself willingly looking for the punishment.

If one is not married shall be subjected to be flogged 80 lashes in public.

Murder: If the murder was deliberate, one's head shall be chopped off.

If it was due to an accident: to the best of my knoweldge, the amount of 4 k of gold must be paid to the family unless they pardon.

as for one who is preaching somehow debatable ideas, Soledad we are all commanded to learn and seek knowledge as much as possible. Each one is fully responsible before Allah for he / she writes or say. In other words, unless what one say is slanderous to Allah or the Messenger, which in such case must be killed if a Muslim, we just must be causious of what we read, hear or see, verify and try to learn the correct info.

Hope I was of help. wallah u a`alem (Allah knows best)

What ever is correct is from Allah and whatever is wrong is from me and Shaytan
