teenage experiences
#1

Salam

How u all doing? I guess most ppl here r either going to college or a secondary school. Am i rite or wrong? And i also guess that most of us go to mix schools. Does anyone here go to an islamic school or not?

So how is it like living in non muslim countries and going to non islamic schools where we mix freely with everyone?

Well i would like to know ur experience of u can say teenage life and difficulties that come along with it.

I personally to go a a mix college but u can say that a great proportion of it is full of Muslims. Alhamdulillah in our college we have prayer rooms and every friday jumah prayers r lead. We have an islamic society in my college and now and again certain programmes are organised.

Well college life i can say is hard. I mean in the social side of things. U knw like lowering ur gaze etc. U see loads of ppl smoking acting stupid and the rest. And sumtimes u urself can find it hard to stay on the rite path. U know u learn from ur experiences and from others who do wrong.

So tell me ppl how old u r lol only if u want to, but it tells me a bit about u, like where u r in life and u know hw much u have expericencd. By the way im only 17.

Pls get bk to this post and tell me abt ur experiences. Inshallah i will keep u posted with my experience of certain things aswell

tk care ppl.

Remember me in ur duas inshallah i will pray for u all too, an Allah will show us and keep us all on the rite path.

Ameen.

Sister I am sooooooooooo happy that u brought this subject up b/c i 2 go 2 a mix school and i also live in a non-muslim country. Al7amduallah in my school there is a good number of arabs and muslims, but still its only a small percentage compare to other groups. Al7amduallah we here try our best 2 spread Islam like we have a club called Islamic Presence that was formed 8 years ago by an Egypt guy who use 2 go 2 our school. Al7amduallah its up until know, but we suffer from low presence of members, but inshallah this year would be different. Anyways there is a thing that i wanted 2 say about the mix and freedom 4 some ppl who say that they muslims, but don't act as one. I feel really sad when I c a muslim guy/gurl putting his/her hands around a guy/gurl and say oh he/she is my boyfriend/gurlfriend. What pisses me most is that when they c other good muslims he/she acts as if nothing happened and he/she just blames others 4 the same thing that he does. They would be in a private school or in other words an Islamic private school and they just go and have a boyfriend/gurlfriend and they wear cloths that even some Americans won't wear. After school hours. During school and in front of parents or good muslims they wear hijab then take it off when no one is looking. They r just ashamed that ppl would know that they r musilms. They think if ppl knew that they r muslim they will loss there coolness or something.

Yesterday we had a muslim teacher who is only teaching in our school for 2 months he said the most bad behaved ppl and low grades and always late 2 class r muslims. I felt really bad when he said that. That’s not how muslims should act. I think all of this starts from the home and that there parents don't teach them anything about Islam or what Islam is.

I really hope someone would help me figure out some ways to help these ppl.

One of the main aims of The shaytaan is to make humans get rid of their modesty, and the high status they have. And sadly many muslims have lost their modesty in taqleed (imitation) of the western culture.

Keep up the good work, May Allah give barakah in your efforts.

Salam

its good to get some feedback on this topic. U knw just today i went to the mosque there was a pragramme, an a sister was talking abt our muslim youth in colleges and how they act.

Everything she was saying was so true. She was talking abt the diffferent types of muslims and how they twist things in Islam to best suit thier needs. One of the types was the ones who wear shiny shalwar kameez and only pray on Fridays jumma prayer just to show everyone else they are a Muslim. They forget abt all the rest of the prayers during the week and that day.

Another type of Muslim r those who wear tight clothes and just cover thier head. They believe that to be the rite way to cover. Other wear it and tk it off.

She was also talking abt how Muslim youth today want the best of the best. Up to date clothes, the newest phone out etc. How some Muslims just go to college to study and r in the library all the time and forget abt the prayer.

People want to fit into the group. They wanna fit in so they do haram acts just to satify other people. They go to clubs and raves to show other ppl that they have a life that they arnt boring.

Also the free mixing of the youth. How some ppl may look innocent from the outside e.g having a beard or wearing the islamic dressing. But inside there intentions r wrong. They sit and chat to the opposite sex sayin oh its got to do with the study's but yet indeed they have sumthing else in mind.

The whole aim of the lecture i went to was to show our Muslim youth how much they r on the wrong path. Everything she was saying was so true. One thing she said was whats haram is haram and whats halal is halal. But how come we ppl find it so difficult to follow that simple principle. Its straight forward isnt it? I thought to myself yes that is so true but still we do wrong.

Halal just doesnt mean she said that u eat halal food everything else all other categories come into this.

Sister Masriah is good to hear abt ur efforts to spread Islam in ur mix school. It can be very difficult to do so. I knw wot u r saying. But u knw i realised that parents who tell thier children or force them to do sumthing most of the time do the opposite. I mean like force them to wear the hijab. Girls wear it but as soon as they r away from home they tk it off.

neway inshallah i will post again soon just pray that allah shows all of us the rite path to islam .

ameen
