Looking for more info on Islam
#1

Hello,

I am an American and am looking into reading more about the Qur'an. I was hoping you all could direct me to either an online source, or paper source for a easy to read english version.[Image: smile.gif]

I am not a Muslim, but am interested in getting a better understanding of the faith. I am unsure as to if the perceptions I am bombarded with every day over here are indeed accurate, or false regarding Islam. So, like all those who thurst for knowledge, I want to get closer to the truths of things.

Anyhow, any help would be much appreciated.[Image: biggrin.gif] Thanks.

Hi Scott,

For an English version of the Quran, the one by Yusuf Ali is available at:

www.halalco.com

Another book you may be interested in is called "What Islam is All About" The author of that book is Yahya Emerick. This one can be purchased at:

www.soundvision.com

There is another book by that same author called "The Idiot's Guide to Understanding Islam." This book can be bought right at Barnes and Noble, and most major chains.

I hope that helps. Have a nice day! [Image: smile.gif]

Thanks for the help, SisterJennifer.[Image: biggrin.gif] I'm not a student of religion or anything, I just want get my opinions of a religion from the source, not from a possibly flawed representation of it from some warped individuals.

Peace to u Scott

I bumped into this thread Sobhan Allah, I wonder where r u scott and how r u doing, I still insist that u use the Quran link I gave u, may Allah reward brother Yusuf Ali much, but due to not being originally a native Arabic speaker u may loose much sense thru his translation.

Hope to hear from u
