In Islam, Da`wa (calling others to Islam) and Jihad (struggling in the name of Allah) are both fundamental values.. Invite (humankind, O Muhammad) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Quran) and fair preaching ..no compulsion in religion.. And fight in the Way of Allah those who fight you, but transgress not the limits.. But if they incline to peace, you also incline to it.

Islam at its early stages and for 13 years continued spreading in Mecca through full conviction with this Deen. Torture, imprisonment, murder and uprooting were the fate of its follower. However, all of this did not turn them away for one inch or make them leave Islam. This defies that Islam was spread by the sword. It was rather spread by conviction with its noble principles, lofty belief and keeping steadfast when facing the sword.

Only with Da`wa efforts, nations like Turks and Moguls, who later defeated Arabs, embraced Islam. Quran has been widely promoted on a large scale in India, where Arabs were only passers by, bringing the number of Muslims to 50 million.. Arabs did not open any parts of China; nevertheless, Islam's presence was not less. In eastern Asia, 100 million people were introduced to the values and morals of Islam which made them come to it. They were not exposed to one Muslim knight coming to their countries for opening purposes. Although the word Jihad, when pronounced, only brings to mind the sense of Qital (fighting) in the name of Allah, however in Islam this is described as minor Jihad. On the other hand, self disciplining, and virtuous deeds is described as major Jihad for it consumes a human being's life time.

Islam is the fastest growing religion in modern time regardless of frequent media distortions which actually motivated many sensible people to search and read about true Islam from credible sources. This group did not buy the fabricated false allegations triggered from discredited sources especially in what is related to human rights which is actually well preserved by Islam.

As for war and Qital (fighting), these are universal traditions that were practiced by all nations. According to previous scriptures-Torah and Injeel-they introduced as a legitimate traditions. Other divine legislations prior to Islam contained an endorsement of and carrying out of war and Qital. This on its own was enough of an evidence that Mohammad salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam followed same traditions as his predecessor prophets. Jihad is actually performed for the purpose of establishing right and justice and for this Islam is commended rather than criticized. If followers of past religions would be asked about reasons for waging war, they will give the same answer as Muslims. The Prophet blessing and peace be upon him observed lofty principles, objective and optimal integrity, as proved in history, in performing Qital and Jihad.

Terms and conditions of war according to Islam:

1. It is performed for a noble cause using clear means and set objective. Qital is the final option after giving non Muslims the choice between embracing Islam or retaining their religion and paying Jizya in return for care, protection and exempting their fighters from joining the army under the Islamic government

2. Engaging in war fight with fighters only. It is prohibited to attack civilians, silos dwellers and monks.

3. In case the other party chose the peace option and ceased fighting, in this case, no attack is permitted except against transgressors.

4. War prisoners are entitled for maintenance and kind human treatment.

5. Protection of environment including restriction to kill animals unless for a valid purpose, burning trees, damaging plants, fruit, contaminating water and wells and demolition of houses.

Objectives of war or Jihad in Islam are as follows:

1. To deter aggression and self defense.

2. To secure the call to the Oneness of Allah and empowering the weak people who wish to embrace Islam.

3. To claiming usurped rights.

4. To support the right and justice.

The real outputs of the Prophet salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam and his companions Jihad:

1. Transferring savages into civilized Arabs and transferring polytheists into monotheists.

2. Eradicating predation, corruption and inciting turmoil in the countries.

3. Establishing an adequate force of deterrence to secure people in their homeland and strengthen public security.

4. Establishing values of gallantness, rescue and knighthood.

5. Endorsing universal justice and freedom regardless of the belief under the umbrella of kind Islamic government.

6. Replacing enmity and hatred with brotherhood and spirituality.

7. Replacing dictatorship with Shura (consultancy).

"According to the teachings of the Messenger blessing and peace be upon him Jihad is far from pushing people to embrace Islam using force and sword. He told his enemies after opening Mecca (their capital), granted victory over them and controlled their leaderships "go you are released"!! just like that without any conditions or restrictions even without putting embracing Islam as a condition!!

Characteristics of Islamic diffusion during openings and government:

 It is prohibited to eradicate nations, like the case of Moguls, Crusades, and world and nuclear wars.

 Muslims assigned a number of salves as rulers. In this context, they detached from racial discrimination including class.

 Muslims did not establish inspection or torture courts as the case of the Nazarenes in Andalusia.

 Jews, Nazarenes and Hindus remained living in their own countries adopting their beliefs. No one forced them to change their religion.

 Muslims married from people of scripture in those countries, lived among them, established households throughout history.

 Al Hijaz region, source of Islamic call, continued to suffer poverty until oil discoveries were made at the time when occupying fighting States used to steal and bring back to their homeland resources from the colonies.

 Muslim countries were exposed to several types of aggression (crusades including genocides, enslavement in west Africa, driving Muslims out of their homes in Andalusia and torturing those who remained in inspection courts).

The previous presentation clearly shows how clean and bright Muslims' history is, they demand justice and apology from their rivals. Whereas Muslims did not commit what would require them to give an apology or what might distort their image. Matter of fact, Muslims' Jihad and openings introduced to history the best ethics of war, elimination of unjust and equity practices, pursuit of noble causes, establishing freedom of religion, diffusing safety and just to all.

Women's Islamic dress code: a Divine legislation and symbol of chastity and bashfulness

 During Ibrahim's salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam era, women's covering as a dress code was known among Hebrews. It remained a known practice during eras of all of their prophets till after the inception of Christianity. Many scriptures of the OT and NT referred to face coverage. Romans enacted laws prohibiting women to appear in roads with their adornments, this took place 200 BC. They even endorsed the "Obia Code" which prohibited them against overly adorning themselves while staying home.

 Women's coverage is not a purely religious symbol because a symbol is something that serves nothing but expressing religious affiliation such as wearing cross or Yamaka, these items do nothing but pronounce the identity. Unlike Muslim women's dress code, it has a definite job and noble wisdom. This job and wisdom are concealment, modest appearance, purity and chastity. Nazarenes portray Virgin Mary wearing a head cover..nuns also observe the same dress code!! Why nobody argued that Jewish and Nazarene's women coverage is a symbol of religious fanaticism and sectarian discrimination and not the cross or Yamaka?!

 Women dress code came as enforcement to belief rational and spiritual conviction. It was not stipulated by virtue of oppressive regimes, unlike commanding women to desert her coverage making it into an obligatory law which is nothing but symbol of fanaticism and extremism. Under the circumstances that Muslim women are fully satisfied with their dress code, why would others interfere in their freedom and choice of wearing what they like?

 Women dress code per se is not an issue. It was ordained and enforced at the time of the Messenger salla Allah a`lyee wa sallam. The code sustained for thirteen consecutive centuries. Opponents of women dress code who fabricated falsehood accusations against it never said that women were oppressed during the time of the Messenger salla Allah a`lyee wa sallam. It was not man who imposed it over women so she would react by filing a lawsuit to get rid of the man imposed oppression such as the case between men and women in Europe. But rather the One Who Ordained the dress code to the Muslim woman was her Lord and Creator.

 The highest percentage of immorality, libertinism, and damage of chastity, marital betrayal, and confusion of lineage came hand in hand with women showing immodest appearance and thinly dressed up. This percentage grows up in parallel with women's increase of this trend and leaving behind virtues. A sane person receives women exaggerated attitude in concealing herself including face and hand, leave alone rest of body, as an evidence of chastity and self maintenance. On the other hand, a sane person looking at women immodestly dressed up, and revealing her adornment to the public classifies her as shameless and cheap.

 Islam teaches to protect five main items: religion, self, mind, offspring and money. Accordingly, whatever protects these five fundamentals is good and whatever damages all or part of them is harm. It is no doubt that women dress code contributes to protecting the five fundamentals contrary to immodesty that corrupts them. A Muslimah who observes the dress code during these time-where temptations and vice become widely spread, sex trade, immorality and turning women into trade-certainly gains the respect of rational people. However, those who adopt promiscuous and physical desires have a difference stance towards her. Yet, she practices patience in face of all this only for Allah's Sake. Only a true believer who is steadfast on the principles of her faith and belief is capable of this.

 Matter of fact as it is widely proven; women's coverage does not prevent her from carrying out any of her duties and legitimate work. It does not stop her from obtaining and learning knowledge and information. But rather those who are capable of doing all of that while concurrently observing the dress code and avoiding inadequate mixing between male and female was capable of making a notable progress in terms of exams. They also gained much respect and appreciation of teachers as well as students.

 The reason behind adopting Muslim women dress code that entails coverage is to promote chastity and protection against illegitimate sexual relations. In this context, women are not allowed to display their adornments except before other women and non marriageable male members of her family. On the other hand, ordaining this type of dress code over women is a catalyst to protect men chastity who might look at her and not only preserving women against outsider looks. The Islamic system introduced this as an integral part of a detailed divine legislation regarding chastity, its relation with A`wrah (parts of the body that are not supposed to be exposed to others) concealment, and avoiding temptation that might lead to committing what Allah Made unlawful. Allah ordained to maintain chastity, prohibited Zina (sex outside of the wed lock), and endorsed marriage. Thus, to lay down a complete legislation, it was necessary to command deterring factors. Allah Commanded women to observe the dress code involving coverage, prohibited situations where a man and woman (who are not married but could be marriageable) be alone without a third party, lowering the gaze and enacted relevant Hudud (punishments).

 Muslim women spend most of their times among household members, other women or non marriageable male members of her family, thus, she does not actually need to be mostly wearing her covering garments. She only needs to put it on in the presence of strange males. Unlike when she is among other women, Mahrams (father, brothers, uncles, sons, grandparents and grandchildren). With all of those males, she will only need to wear her regular modest clothing without covering the head..etc. According to Islamic flexible and observant teachings, there is no limitation in terms of clothing between husband and wife when they are alone. These teachings were set in a way that brings good, happiness to humanity and protect them against evil using an accurate and comprehensive legislation as indicted in Allah Saying:

 " This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.".
