Gaza crisis and Egypts role.
#1

If you have managed to catch Sayyed Hassan Nasrallahs last two speeches there is an emphatic plea to Egypt to open the Rafah crossing to let aid supplies and arms into Gaza. Why wont the Egyptians oblige?

Also exactly what is Egypt Foreign Ministers problem? Mr. Aboul Gheit blames Hamas?!?!?!?

I thought you would be busy these days as Muharam started, blessed Hijri year.

If you follow the news, not Nasrallah's speech, you will learn that much supplies have been already deployed from Egypt to Gaza in the past few days, leave alone public aid, like we organise sending medications..and other supplies on many levels, either groups, or synidcates, doctors syndicate is specially highly involved. I m not sure if you are talking about an official opening.

Regarding Abul Ghait, I didnt listen to him but here is his statements:

But news headlines in governmental newspapers were all against it, calling to stop it, publishing horro picuters of dead children and women...etc.

Karbal, sorry to say, we as Muslims to be blamed for all this, if we were true Muslims Allah Woulnt have sent over us such an enemy.

I m being honest, we need to improve..

Yes Muslimah I mean a full opening of the Rafah crossing. What did you think I meant? This is what Mubarak has to say

"We in Egypt are not going to contribute to perpetuating the rift (between the Palestinian Authority of Mahmud Abbas and Gaza's Hamas rulers) by opening the Rafah crossing in the absence of the Palestinian Authority and EU observers in violation of the 2005 deal," AFP http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/artic...0zFQyInwhza_drg

Gaza doesn't just need a few emergency supplies and evacuation of a few wounded. It needs mass civilian evacuations and arms to be supplied to resistance groups in Gaza.

Egypt needs to do more!!

Yes Muharram has started but its also the Christmas holidays here in UK. So im not that busy.

I think we ALL need to do more not just the Egyptians and not just on occasion either. I need to start by asking myself, what am I doing? What are all of us individually doing? Just complaining, waiting for somebody else to do something, or doing anything proactive? I really feel we need to start getting serious and stop shifting blame onto everybody but ourselves. The reality is that we all have a hand in this every Muslim, and I am very sure Allah is going to ask us what we did about this and what will we answer to that???

Muslimah is correct, we would not be in this predicament if we had been doing our job all along. Every single one of us. Yes Immediately Gaza needs help, but we cant be short sighted like this anymore, we keep putting band aids onto gaping wounds, and if we continue this way we will be in this situation forever!!! What are we waiting for?

Yes of course we all need to do something that goes without saying. We all need to pressure our Governments to condemn Israel in as strong terms as possible. We all need to give as much as we can in terms of aid and relief.

But it is undeniable that Egypt plays a crucial role in this situation.

During the 33 day war in 2006 Syria kept its border open with Lebanon and that was all the resistance needed to repel the Israeli army. The beauty of Lebanese resistance is that it never asked for millitary help from any nation. The Palestinian resistance is the same.. Inshalllah they have the potential to overcome Israeli aggression by themselves. But in order to acheive this the lines of supplies need to be kept open. Hence the pressure in Egypt. This isn't a blame game but Egypt needs to live up to its responisbility because its role is crucial!

You are right 100% karbala

no logic reasons prevent us from helping the palestinian, not only now but at any time.

Do you know that muslims should help and protect those who escape from the war if they ask our protection even they are not muslims.

Just an update, Karabala, you are correct, they closed the crossing again which hinders public efforts to provide supplies.

However, what I want to say, and i m not supporting the gov viewpoint, is that when people start fleeing to Egypt, this will open the stage for Israel to fully take over Gaza strip. Not that I endorse two states or even what they call as peace. No, but at least we should not evacuate it for them to take over. Or what do you think? the situation is really a mess. But what I fully reject is for the Egyptian authorities to shoot those who are fleeing. They are helping Israel.

And to be honest, none of the Arab/Muslim countries is doing their role. During the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, Saudi, Kuwaiti, I think Egyptian armies didnt take part, formed an emergency army in 48 hours to support the American troops in throwing Iraqi forces out. Arent we capable of at least doing the same. Arab/Muslim countries (because Christians are involved in Gaza who were deprived of accessing their sacred places for Christmas because of the wall) must form an emergency army, even if they only let the masses who come out for demonstrations, they amount to 50.000, they will go and give support along with other masses in many different countries, not only Egypt.

Muslimah, civilians need to be evacuated from Gaza, the resistance fighters can stay, but civilians need to get out its a warzone.

I will say again, the resistance does NOT need military help, Hezbollah did not need any military help nor does Hamas and Islamic Jihad. What they do need is supplies which can only come from the egyptian border.

I wonder, are you all aware that the international community succeeded in shrinking down the Palestinean cause into Gaza strip only??? Now we are just focusing on how to free Gaza, let Gaza live..etc. How about the rest of the land? Currently I m in the process of discussing this issue with an American public policy specialist. Insh aAllah I will post our discussion bit by bit. He started off with me when I asked him how to undo the harm (for one he did admit there was a major harm fell over the palestineans, they were ripped off...etc), he started by saying simply to forgive. Till he developed by endorsing and advocating the road map of two states. He was shocked yesterday and did not reply since when he asked me (surprised and not expecting) if I advocate the full dissolution of Isreal and I said certainly yes and many are like me, the vast majority are. Now our role is to raise awareness that the cause is shrinking into Gaza. We need to try our best to access palestinean factions and call them for unity, remind them of causes of vicotory as mentioned in Quran, (do not divide or else you will loose your power) I will dig the Surat and Ayah later, it is getting too late but just couldnt sleep without typing this specially after listening to the bombing of 3 UNROWA schools. May Allah Destroy all those who are backing Israel up and may Allah Grant us unity, strength and the ability to over come our desires ameen.

Mubarak had a press conference with Sarkuzi to introduce a new initiative..............!!!!!!!

O Karbala I understand your point, I think they are hosting aggression victims in hospitals, but dont worry, the public is not standing still, we know they need survival rights, now it is an inssue of survival rights not human rights...O how well they can twist words. Yet we should really learn of the Jewish lobby, they are so united, so organised and we are wasting our efforts by division and desire to be the boss.
