How did u feel
#1

As Salam Alykom

Today I was discussing with someone about hiking fares for Umra, in light of the increased rate of SR, it has become very costly to go for OMra. Alhamdulelah Allah allowed me several times, plus Haj Alhamdulelah.

Did anybody here perform Haj and Omra? What I am asking is could we all share our feelings when we come close to Ka`aba and try to get an analysis for the feeling? I think this will be very interesting.

What do u think?????

i went to perform umrah in ramadhan about two years back.... in ramadhan its totally different everything changes ... because u have to fast !! and perform 20 rakats behind SHAIKH SUDAIS ! ... when i went i was with a student group when we first got there it was jummah time and it was really hot ... we had to perform our prayers outside coz we were late.... we went to the kabaa when it was a bit cooler around magrib time ... we were still in our ihrams... our imam told us to look down and dont look around to find the qabaa he just told us to walk straight ... and reserve ur dua for when u first see it .... i went closer and closer and i looked up ..... i was so amazed that i forgot what dua i was gonna do ... all of us kept staring at the qabaa , just like when a girl goes past ... all our hearts melted adn we forgot everything .... i mean everything all of us just stood there amazed .. people doing tawaf .. idonmt know if uve ever noticed or not but if u look closely u can see the birds going round the qabaa as welll in the right direction !! .. after that we performed our umarah did safa marwa .. cut our hair had a shower and took our ihram off ... personally i like madinah better dont know why but i just like the atmnosphere more better.. and night time its the best coz everything awake .. we used to sleep all day fajar to zohar and even sometimes zohar to asar coz its too hot and we had AC in our rooms !.. umrah in ramazan is so different .. when ur breaking ur fast its awesome .. people everywhere giving out friut and bread .. all of us together all the muslims waiting for the adhaan then we all start eating !!... the 20 rakats is good as well but its to long and i used to go for water ... ZAM ZAM water that is after every two ...... wow look how much ive wrote already i think i better stop now ..

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barrakatuhu.

I have visited forums after a long time. Masha Allah, the look has changed and everything is just excellent.

Masha Allah, brother Suhail's article is heart touching. Its good if people like Brother Suhail and Sister Muslimah share their experiences. I dont know the exact procedure of how to perform Umrah. Can anyone share the names of books that are available for this purpose ?

I can recite The Holy Quran, but I dont understand arabic. Why I am saying this is, if anyone knows any book on Umrah, which is written in english but has recitations in arabic, its fine with me.

May Allah SWT bless each and every muslim with an opportunity to get closer to Kaaba - Ameen, Summa Ameen.

Yours In Islam

As Salam Alykom

Well Alhamdulelah Allah allowed me a chance to go for Haj once and Omra many times, some of them during Ramadan.

I fully agree with what Suhail said. However, Suhail and AbdurRahman, how did your heart feel when u came close to Ka`ab? This is what I exactly meant. Did u feel your heart is pounding very hard? Did u feel as if it is going to get out of its place.

Well brothers and sisters look at the Ayah including Dua Ibraheem:” O our Lord I have made some of my offspring to dwell in a valley without cultivation, by thy Sacred house; in order, O our Lord, that they may establish regular prayer: , .so fill the hearts to some among men with love towards them and feed them with fruits: so that they may give thanks.” (Quran 14:37).

The whole issue is the underlined Ayah, in Arabic it is أفئدة من الناس تهوى. If u translate it literally it says O Allah make the hearts of some people lean or long for them. Ibraheem made this dua in order to be comfortable about leaving his wife and new born infant in this almost deserted valley. He wanted Allah to make people’s heart long for them while being in this place. Actually brothers and sisters, I personally feel that my heart is about to jump out of its place the more I come closer to Ka`aba.

Something special happens to me when I think how it is that the minute u r inside Haram, u r in the host of Ar Rahman. This is first, second when one just realizes that Ka`ba is just located under the throne around which angels are making Tawaf u really feel so different. U feel something that is hard to express. Sobhan Allah, u sit and watch people in general men and women equally, the minute they are close to Ka`ba fountains of tears are opened. No special reason can be identified though.

Suhail did u also notice that during Ramdan, inspite the fact that u r fasting and u actually sleep and eat just by chance

Sobhan Allah u feel fresh and enjoying power that can hold u to do amazing level of hard actitivies including the 20 raka`as and during the last ten days ten more which start after midnight. This needs to dedicate a special post.

As Suhail said I still have more. I will just give chance to other contributions and brother smdahmed we did miss u and noticed your absence hope everything is fine and that u will continue sharing with us. Insh aAllah we will include something about the rituals themselves.

Suhail go ahead and tell us about Medina, by the way most of the people feel very comfortable in Medina Sobhan Allah

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullah.

Alhamdulillah I am doing fine and quite okay. The reason for my absence was that I changed my employer quite recently. Alhamdulillah everything is going fine and I request you all to pray for my success in here and hereafter.

I have another request for all of you - Please do let me know the authentic book for performing The Hajj and Umrah. Please do provide with the publisher's address also so that I can order the same by post. I would always be thankful to the one who ll give me the exact details. I m sure Sister Muslimah , Brother Suhail and several others in this forum have performed Hajj and Umrah several times ( more than once ) and they can guide me better.

Wassalam

Jazak Allahu Khairan

As Salam Alykom

What I usually cann't help thinking about deeply, is Hajar’s feeling when her husband came to tell her that he is taking her with her little infant to the desert and leaving them there. What was her reaction? She said did You Lord command u so, he said yes, positively she answered, certainly He will never abandon us. My mother has a very nice comment on this situation. She says wow if it was one of the modern women, she would tell her husband, man it seems that you grew old enough to loose your mind. Then while doing the saa- iy (shuttling between safa and marwa) I just keep on remembering how she did it, under which conditions. We are doing it at ease, making dua, part of a ritual, we even do it with much tranquility. While she was in a terrible state of anxiety. She was desparately looking for water to give to her almost dying baby of thirt. With no trace of any human assistance, she never lost her hope in Allah, she had to mount at both mountains. Today we may just reach as much as we can and turn on. Wow, we are doing it under shade, she was doing it in the sun. La ilah ila Allah, may Allah never tries us this way.

Plus the idea that our beloved Prophet once stepped into this area also takes my heart away. But still I just can not help comparing. We are making our prayers and tawaf either on cooled marble or well carpeted area. La hawala walaqowata ila billah, while he was doing so on stones, not only this, but sometimes with Kafirs putting dirt on his back. Sobhan Allah.

I still have more, will come back later Insh aAllah
