"I am both Muslim and Christian"
#41

In the Name of the Father Son Holy Spirit - One God - now & forever. Amen.

May the peace of Christ be with you!

Quote:However, I fully agree with u, one can never be a Muslims and a Christian simultaneously.

Theoretically... no! But it wouldn't be the first time someone's taken aspects of various religions to form their own new one. Let her be.

Quote:Being a Muslim is believing in the One true Allah Who Is not made of parts, was not begoten nor Did He Begoten anyone. Thus, the fundamental belief of Christianity is in total disagreement with the fundamental and basic belief in the Oneness of Allah Who Is not obliged to have any incarnates.

For the millionth time... Catholics profess the belief in One True God... who is not made up of parts, nor does He beget or was He begotten. God did not beget another god. THE FATHER BEGOT THE SON before all ages. They're one & the same. Only the Son was made incarnate & born of the Virgin Mary.

Speaking of Mother Mary/Maryam... I just received news that recently in Australia there was major controversy over a piece of artwork depicting Mother Mary/Maryam as both a Christian & a Muslim. Many Catholics resented the idea as did our Prime Minister who spoke out against it. Personally, I admit that the niqab & rosary beads are a mis-match but nevertheless I told my friends to stop making a fuss over it for 2 main reasons: 1) freedom of artistic expression & 2) I'm grateful that both Christians & Muslims honour Mother Mary/Maryam & I pray that our mutual admiration for her will break down the barriers between us & help us find more common ground for the sake of peace, harmony & truth. Her Son leads Catholics to her intercessions... & I know for a fact that she has led many Muslims to her Son.

Actually FHC Allah Instructed us Muslims 1400 years ago saying: to you is your religion and to me is mine. We dont need to find common grounds or see how u and us rever Mariam. It is enough that Allah Revealed one full Surah in her name. I love that Surah.

Hello to all,

I am thoroughly fed up with Muslims saying that Christians pray to three gods, the father son, and the Holy Spirit. That is entirely untrue for we do not believe that these three persons are three different gods, but are one in the same. Now on face value I know this may seem incomprehensible, but allow me to explain.

Consider the molecules of water, H20. Now also consider the different forms this same molecule may take. Ice, water, and steam. Each are different in their own ways, have different characteristics and each serve different purposes , such as ice to freeze, water to drink and steam to burn. However although different they are all made up of exactly the same molecules and atoms - H20. Just as is the Holy Trinity (which is God in three persons). Although each are different and serve different purposes, such as the Son to die on the cross for our sins, and the Holy spirit to dwell in each heart and fill each person with God's loving grace; each of them or still one and the same. They may not have identical characteristics however share a trait that is undeniable - they are all one GOD. Thus came the introduction of the word Trinity, which originated from Tri Unity.

I hope that I haven given a better understanding of the Christian belief to all.

Hello fisher nice to hear from you,

Because you are new you are probably not aware yet that we have a thread in the Discussion of Belief sectron in which some Christian members have presented some information about the way they veiw the trinity. I believe it is titled "What we actually believe." You might like to continue in that thread.

The question this particular topic addresses is Can one be Christian and Muslim at the same time? Clearly, they cannot. The view of the trinity it just one aspect of this.

Actually the Quran address the topic of trinity as well:

4:171 O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His apostles. Say not "trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah. Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs

5:73 They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them.

Thanks and take care :)

Fisher of Men, it's not that Muslims don't understand the Christian perspective, or that we don't get the H2O analogy.

As you know, we believe that Christ and the Holy Spirit are creations that our seperate from the Lord. So, basically, if all three were worshipped, even if they were thought to be one entity, it is an article of faith for us to disagree.

I hope this clears it up.

I apologize if the picture offended anyone. It was an honest mistake.
