What is also important to mention regarding the worship of repetence is that it is a distinctive attitude between mankind and the devil. The devil acted arrogant and refused to repent or obey. When Adam kept asking for forgivness and repentence.

Allah:

Truly, Allah loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves "" (Quran 2:222)

As u can see it is means to gain Allah's Love which is certainly worthy to strive for.

Assalamo ALikum FHC...

Quote:I still need further clarification regarding my Sharia question, please. I'll rephrase it... do all sinners cop punishment regardless of whether they repent or not?

<b>Muslimah??? Some help needed here please… </b>

Quote:Um... I heard that Mohammad received revelations from Satan & thought they were from Allah (about worshipping gods, etc). It doesn't really have anything to do with the topic, I just mentioned it because I was curious to know how much power Satan had over the prophets.

Quote:Although Mohammad (PBUH) was deceived by Satan into preaching the Satanic Verses

Your statement doesn’t look like somebody have <i>heard</i> such thing. Because you didn’t even asked for clarification whether what you have heard is true or false… because the Qur’an said:

<b>"O you who believe, if a sinner comes to you with news, VERIFY IT, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done."</b> [Qur’an 49:6]

Quote:If I have said anything in this thread that offends anybody then I am truly sorry & I hope you can forgive me.

<b>Your apology is totally accepted</b>… but it’s my duty now to clarify this point.

Ok first of all, to say that the Qur’an was the work of Satan <b>is a very cheap excuse for some critics to exit out of an uncomfortable situation. </b>

If you remember that famous story from the Bible that mentions how one day some of the Jews were witnesses when Jesus pbuh raised a man from the dead. The man had been dead for four days, and when Jesus arrived, he simply said, "Get up!" and the man arose and walked away. At such a sight, some of the Jews who were watching said disbelievingly, "This is the Devil. The Devil helped him!" Now this story is rehearsed very often in churches all over the world, and people cry big tears over it, saying, "Oh, if I had been there, I would not have been as stupid as the Jews!" Yet, ironically, these people do exactly what the Jews did when in just three minutes you show them only a small part of the Qur'an and all they can say is, "Oh, the Devil did it. The devil wrote that book!" Because they are truly backed into a corner and have no other viable answer, they resort to the quickest and cheapest excuse available.

The people of Mecca did the same; they used to say, "The devils bring Muhammad that Qur'an!" But just as with every suggestion made, the Qur'an gives the answer.

<b>"And they say, 'Surely he is possessed [by jinn],' but it [i.e., the Qur'an] is not except a reminder to the worlds."</b> Qur'an 68: 51-52

Not only that, In fact, there are many arguments in the Qur'an in reply to the suggestion that devils brought Muhammad pbuh his message. For example:

<b>"No evil ones have brought it [i.e., this revelation] down. It would neither be fitting for them, nor would they be able. Indeed they have been removed far from hearing." </b> (Qur’an 26:210-212)

And in another place in the Qur'an, Allah instructs us:

<b>"So when you recite the Qur'an seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan, the rejected."</b> Qur’an 16:98

Now is this how Satan writes a book? He tells one, "Before you read my book, ask God to save you from me?" This is very, very tricky. Indeed, a man could write something like this, but would Satan do this? Many people clearly illustrate that they cannot come to one conclusion on this subject. On one hand, they claim that Satan would not do such a thing and that even if he could, God would not allow him to; yet, on the other hand, they also believe that Satan is only that much less than God. In essence they allege that the Devil can probably do whatever God can do. And as a result, when they look at the Qur'an, even as surprised as they are as to how amazing it is, they still insist, "The Devil did this!"

Alhamdulelah, Muslims do not have that attitude. Although Satan may have some abilities, they are a long way separated from the abilities of Allah. And no Muslim is a Muslim unless he believes that. It is common knowledge even among non Muslims that the Devil can easily make mistakes, and it would be expected that he would contradict himself if and when he wrote a book. For indeed, the Qur'an states:

<b>"Do they not consider the Qur'an? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much discrepancy."</b> Qur’an 4:82

Salam

Wael.

As salam alykom

still need further clarification regarding my Sharia question, please. I'll rephrase it... do all sinners cop punishment regardless of whether they repent or not?

May Allah Assist me to put the correct answer.

In a hadeeth: The Messenger prayer and peace be upon him say:

Narrated under the authority of Abi Said, that the Messenger prayer and peace be upon him said: One who repents from a sin, is deemed as one who has no sin (reported by Ibn Majeh)

Alhamdulelah Who Granted us this golden opportunity of repentence. It is only logical that one who performs sincere repentance, in the sense that after repentenance one does not repeat the same sin, other wise in such case one would be taking Allah lightly, that Allah fully erases this particular sin for which one repented. Thus, how come then Allah Would punish the person? and Allah u A`lam.

Allah Is Just. The issue of judgement is really vast and multifaceted.

Hope I helped.

Glory be to the Father, & to the Son & to the Holy Spirit.

Peace be with you, Muslimah!

Thanks you! Indeed, you were a big help!

I'm doing cartwheels in my bedroom because of what I just read!!!

Truly Allah is forgiving & merciful!

I take it you understood that I was referring to punishment on earth, not in the afterlife. Let's pray that authorities in Sharia states take note of this Hadith & ease up on sinners who wish to repent.

God bless you, Sister.

Salam Wael,

I'm quite comfortable, thank you, & I don't consider myself a critic ;)

I won't say another word concerning this matter until I view the link Muslimah provided & run a search on abrogation. Insh a Allah I'll get to the bottom of it soon... with your help, of course :D

Thanks for accepting my apology!

God bless you & your family.

Now that you clarified what u actually aimed at.

Let me explain, repentance is a worship that is performed to Allah only, and only Allah Accepts it or not. Not as I told u when one keeps repeating the same sin for which s/he made the repetenance because one should not take Allah LIghtly.

As for sins, in Sharia, there are punishments (Hududs). A Muslim ruler is authorised to apply those hudud only when the crime is proved, like in stealing, red handed murder, and zina for instance. Either one confesses that s/she committed this crime which is cuncurrentlly a sin or to be caught in action with witnesses supporting the act according to the stipulated regulations for each.

If the person repents, before s/he is caught, then this shall be between her/him and Allah, however, if the person for instances approaches the ruler, and confesses, thus, a ruler must apply the Had of Allah.

Can u see the difference? Ready to further explain if you stumble in any point.

And FHC, I m not sure what were u apologizing for, I thought this was between u and Wael, but then realised that u were refering to the false info you got regarding the Satanic verses. Well, I wasnt offended, u shouldnt keep in your heart, you learnt a piece of info, how can u verify it? if u kept it to yourself and didnt approach Muslims for it, then u will continue adopting wrong impression about something fundamental.

Ouch... that hurt! I had a feeling it was too good to be true :(

I have issues with people taking Divine matters into their own hands.

Before you ask... No, I don't support the legal system in the West either.

(Arabic) Ya dilly ana! Ya'rate, I ruled the world *sigh*
