A Comparison

Bismillah:

Quote:Wael, in Oz, many guys named "Mohammad" are given (at their request) the nickname "Mo". We, Aussies, are very lazy with our tongue - we break down words & sentences in order to say as little as possible. Even our news reporters speak very casually. So, I don't think TC meant anything bad by what he said. Consider his intentions. Now that he's aware how Muslims feel about this issue, I'm sure he'll think twice about it next time.

So why he did not refer to Jesus in the same sentence as ‘JE’ ?

You know what, I feel so bad about this, not only by showing disrespect to our beloved Prophet pbuh, but even to Jesus pbuh by his followers; I’ve been to one of the Catholic Churches in Philippines with my friend who used to read some Biblical verses during the mass, and I was shocked to see inside the Church the images of what they call ‘Jesus’ who is suppose to be their Lord and savior, <b>carrying letter ‘M’ of McDonalds instead of the Cross, using cell phone while leaning on a car, wearing jeans and necklaces , riding bike and so on</b>… and when I asked how this can be allowed in your Church, then all what I got is nonsensical jokes and careless comments.

Anyway, I made my point clear and I hope that TC will respect my request and the board rules. Insh a Allah.

Quote:Jesus Christ IS, WAS & ALWAYS WILL BE God - "I am the Alpha & the Omega, who is & who was & who is to come, the Almighty" (Revelations 1:8). As far as I'm concerned, my beliefs will never change. Insh a Allah, you won't be too let down & we can remain friends

You got me wrong… I do expect you and other Christians to admit that Jesus is not God, simply because I’ve seen many people who were devoted Catholics like you who came to the same conclusion <i>‘That Jesus is not God”, </i> so I hope and pray that one day Allah will open your heart to this path. Ameen. but please note that in both cases we will remain friends… this is only my wish for everybody :D so no harm huh :)

Sometimes Jesus Christ's name is abbreviated to & even referred to in speech as "JC". I have no idea if this is inappropriate (to the degree of sin). I'll have to check it out & get back to you :conf06: I don't know everything - hehe!

I've never seen anything of the sort inside a Church. I wonder why they'd do that? What are they trying to portray? Next time you're there, please take photos (wide shots as well as close ups) & send them to me :) I trust you're telling the truth, but it's one of those things that I have to see to believe!

I hope so too!

TC, ARE YOU LISTENING, DUDE??? BEHAVE!

I'm glad we can still be friends! That's my wish for everybody worldwide! Some Muslims refuse to befriend non-believers because they innocently think it's what Allah commands :(

Peace & blessings!

Quote:i ask a second time ... why would god send us his only son to spread the good news, then send someone like mohammed that preached .. pretty much the exact opposite of Jesus?

salam TC

I fully understand your position of not believing that Mohamed salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam is not a Messeger under the alleged assumption that Allah Sent His alleged son. It is only logical to end the story at this point.

If u want, i can discuss this with u on another thread.

But as for here, what is it that Mohamed prayer and peace be upon him preached the opposite of Jesus, I mean in which terms, areas, aspects...etc.?

To Christian members on this thread, now thru FHC explanation, i gathered that Jesus, had a dual character, he died in human part, but was alive in his divine entity. A question arose to mind. Whom do you follow in your path of worship? I mean whose teachings are u following? in terms of do and dont????

TC, as u r the original poster of this thread, one of the comparing items was that Jesus prayer and peace be upon him had a virgin birth, which we Muslims actually fully believe in thru a Quranic verse. however, I m not sure if u r aware that this issue in particular is contoversial among other Christian sects? Am i not right??????!!!!!! There are other sects who dont believe in a virigin birth, although this is a main ground and miracle of Jesus.

To the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Peace be with you all!

Muslimah, you're a heretic - hehe!

Short answer - Dualism is an age old heresy that has never been accepted in Catholicism. Jesus Christ is ONE Divine Person possessing TWO natures (Divine & Human) which are united in what we call the "hypostatic union".

We worship God. Jesus is the Son of God (2nd Person of the Blessed Trinity). Christians don't believe that God is one of three (as the Qur'an states). We believe that God is One, but in God there subsists Three distinct Persons.

If you're thinking, "what on earth are you going on about???" I don't blame you  I've just enrolled in a course titled "The Blessed Trinity" which has a duration of 104 hours so as you can imagine, this truth is not a simple one to grasp & there's a lot of theology behind it. I'll do my best to help you UNDERSTAND (as opposed to BELIEVE).

I'll provide an in-depth explanation to the Incarnation & the Blessed Trinity (two popular topics of conversation on IslamMessage) in a separate thread that Christians (Catholics in particular) can keep referring to down the track to avoid constant repetition. Insh a Allah I'll post it under "Discussion of Beliefs" in the very near future.

All Christians believe in the virginal birth. Some sects deny the perpetual virginity of Our Lady & think Jesus Christ had siblings. Muslims honour Mary more than Protestants do. As far as I know, she plays virtually no role in their faith tradition.

I hope I've been helpful! I look forward to hearing views from other Christians too :)

God bless you & yours.

Wrong…

In a "SHOCK SURVEY OF ANGLICAN BISHOPS" in June 1984 it was revealed that 31 of their 39 Bishops thought that

<b>"Christ's miracles, the virgin birth and the resurrection might not have happened exactly as described in the Bible."</b>

In deference to the Bishops of the Church of England (the "Anglicans") the Church of Scotland also omitted any reference to the "Virgin Birth" from its publication "A STATEMENT OF FAITH."

<b>Why this 'Blesses Trinity' should be that difficult if it was ‘really’ the central doctrine of the Christian faith??? </b>

<b>Why for thousands of years, did none of God's prophets teach his people about the Trinity?</b> At the least, <b>would Jesus not use his ability as the Great Teacher to make the Trinity clear to his followers?</b> <b>Would God inspire hundreds of pages of Scripture and yet not use any of this instruction to teach the Trinity if it were the "central doctrine" of faith? </b>

Thank u very much for your reply, however, u got involved in correcting a term I used without an intention and totally skipped or missed the core of interest in my post. My question was simply as this: u worship jesus in a union form (no need to post a long post explaining this as this is not my aim), let us say u worship hin in two capacities: human and divine. You have two capacities in one united from. Fine.

Now simply my question was to u and TC and any other Nasrani on the board:

which is the source of your do and dont??????

whom do u follow? how can i make it more simple?? if u look at my other post it went like this:

<b>Whom do you follow in your path of worship? I mean whose teachings are u following? in terms of do and dont????</b>

Just to confirm u got my question, in your life as a Nasrania, what is your crieterion, standards, where do u get your regulation from, whom are u following?

Muslimah, I'll skip the first part of your question because the way you worded it is tricky & I don't want either one of us to fall into a trap.

In a nutshell...

Catholics follow the teachings of Jesus Christ which the Church sets out for us based on Sacred Scripture & Sacred Tradition.

The Blessed Virgin Mary is the epitome of a faithful Christian & both genders should follow her example. Our Lady always said "yes" to God & lived according to His will. We also look at the lives of our saints & strive to be as holy as they are.

All for the glory of God!!! May His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven & may He forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us! Amen.
