Assalamu alaikum brother,

Sorry I did not notice your question. Have been rather busy, and am just running in and out here to have a quick look, most of the times.

Of course we all read tafsir, it is very difficult to understand, at least for me that do not know Arabic, without consulting tafsir.

So I read ibn Kathir, by the net, www.tafsir.com I think it is very expressive. It has helped me a lot in a better understanding of the message that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala has given us.

Bismillah,

Well, what i was told that different mufasser has their own way...

For example, some mufasser explain the verses of Quran word by word Language, others explain in Fiqh point of view, others explain by relying on Hadeeth and etc....

Wassalam.

Assalamualaikum Brothers and Sisters,

All praises are for ALLAH and peace and blessings on our holy prophet (sws), whoever ALLAH guides none can misguide and whoever ALLAH lets to go astray none can guide.

Brother, as far as the issue of tafsir goes, no tafsir is free from error and as its a human work there are bound to be errors in it. And reading a tafsir, requires some preliminary knowledge of hadith, that doesn't mean that we have to start reading a tafsir after we get this knowledge. No, but the point is with the tafsir, you have to simultaneously start reading Bukhari, Muslim or compiled hadith books like riyad-us-saliheen etc. And if you are a new reader, i recommend you to read the makki surahs first, because they deal with the matters of emaan, taqwa, aqeedah etc which is the base. And the main thing you asked, the most authentic, as judged by all the scholars to this date is tafsir ibn kathir, so do start reading it. And make duaa for this slave of ALLAH.

Assalamualaikum Sister Muslimah,

All praises are for ALLAH and peace and blessings on our holy prophet(sws) whoever ALLAH guides none can misguide and whoever ALLAH lets to go astray no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except ALLAH and i bear witness that Muhammad (sws) is HIS slave and messenger.

I am sorry sister muslim i didn't get your point, what do you mean by "Allow me to welcome you to the board". Please elaborate.

And JazakALLAH khair for you reply, and Alhamdulillah this board is really good, and inshALLAH it will serve for us a means to gain istiqama on the sirat-e-mutaqueem. I will end with a very good verse from the book of ALLAH

{"Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Verily, my Salât (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allâh, the Lord of the 'Alamîn ".

"He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims." } (Surah Anaam, 6:162-163)
