I haven't been able to find an answer to the question "what happens if the husband flirts?" on the forum.

I know that the wife doesn't beat him...but what does happen?

Bismillah:

Quote:"what happens if the husband flirts?"

<b>The wife would then have the right to get divorced from her husband. The husband would also get flogged up to 10 stripes</b>:

Narrated Abu Burda Al-Ansari: "I heard the Prophet saying<b>, 'Do not flog anyone more than ten stripes except if he is involved in a crime necessitating Allah's legal Punishment.'
</b> (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 82, Number 833)"

Narrated 'Abdur-Rahman bin Jabir: "On the authority of others, that the Prophet said, <b>'No Punishment exceeds the flogging of the ten stripes, except if one is guilty of a crime necessitating a legal punishment prescribed by Allah.'</b>
(Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 82, Number 832)"

If the husband commits adultery with another woman, then <b>he would get punished severely for it</b>. Marriage in Islam is something sacred, because it prevents the Muslim from doing sins and it is a great way to settle down with the spouse he/she loves.

Allah Almighty ordered men to love and respect their wives, and He the Almighty <b>honored women and spoke highly of them</b>.

"O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness, that ye may take away part of the dower [money given by the husband to the wife for the marriage contract] ye have given them, except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and God brings about through it a great deal of good.
(Quran, 4:19)"

"If a wife fears cruelty or desertion on her husband's part, there is no blame on them if they arrange an amicable settlement between themselves; and such settlement is best; even though men's souls are swayed by greed. But if ye do good and practise self-restraint, God is well-acquainted with all that ye do.
(Quran, 4:128)"

"And among God's signs is this: He created for you mates from amongst yourselves (males as mates for females and vice versa) that you might find tranquillity and peace in them. And he has put love and kindness among you. Herein surely are signs for those who reflect.
( Quran 30:21)"

"And when you men have divorced women, ...then either retain them in kindness if you reconcile, or part with them in kindness. Do not retain them to harm them so that you transgress limits. He who does this has wronged himself.
( Quran 2:231)"

"Women impure for men impure. And women of purity for men of purity. These are not affected by what people say. For them is forgiveness and an honorable provision.
(Quran 24:26)"

"And the believers men and women are friends one of the other, they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and they establish worship and pay the poor due, and they obey God and his messenger. As for these, God will have mercy on them
...( Quran 9:71)"

"Indeed, men who submit and women who submit, believing men and believing women, and men who obey and women who obey, and truthful men and truthful women, and men who persevere and women who persevere, and men who are humble and women who are humble, and men who give alms and women who give alms, and men who fast and women who fast, and men who guard their chastity and women who guard their chastity, and men who remember God much and women who remember God much. God has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward.
(Quran 33:35)"

"And their Lord has heard them and says: 'I don't let the work of any worker be lost be they male or female. You both proceed one from the other
..( Quran 3:195)"

"...Indeed the noblest of you in the sight of God (among men and women and races and nationalities) is the one most responsive to the truth (taqwa).
( Quran 49:13)"

hope this answer your question.

Wael, u need to verify the flogging part, because flogging is applied on an unmarried male or female who gets engaged in an illegal sexual act.

But as for a filrting married male, we must actually define what filrting is? i mean what does the male do?

No I think I get it.

The reason I asked was because I wanted to know to what extent physical punishment is permitted in Islam. A few years ago in Texas a Muslim girl disobeyed her father by getting a job at McDonalds (yes, I realize that a daughter is different than a wife). Anyway, the Father and Mother found out about her job and when she returned home they both beat her to the point of death. It was especially memorable, because the girl was able to dial 9-11 after her parents were done and you could hear screaming in the background. Like I said, the girl later died from her wounds.

I have no doubt that THIS sort of physical punishment is way out of line in what is taught in Islam.

Salaam,

I am glad i came upon this site as it has helped me answer alot of questions that i had on my mind, In reply to what a man should do if his wife disoebys him or flirts with other men etc, i was just wondering if anyone could answer my question on what should one do if a wifes husband disobeys her, and flirts with other women, as i feel that this matter is much more popular in our society today.

Thank you......

Sister Muslimah:

Again exemplary way of responding to an ignorant person's question/accusation, on one breathe he quotes Quraan , so as to proove back up his argument (yet he quotes without TAfsir) Then begins questioning on the other he says he knows Islam, then he quotes the bible to compare and contrast paradoxically so as to say "my religon is better than yours"

Yet you humbly reply and he has the audacity to say your getting emotional after he has mocked.

Sister I would go crazy dealing with people like this. dunno how you do it.

Quote:Is it a rule on this board that before I ask any question I have to tirelessly search the past threads to see if it's been addressed?

In this particular case when dealing with Religon and such quotations:

its general life skills, morals, Ethics, good corporate governance that before one says something , asks something, , speaking out of context, accuses, or compares , of is fact finding, he should "get his ducks in a row" If you know wot i mean

YOu took the time to Find the Quraan and Bible quote suprising you didnt find time to read the board or net for more .....

hhmmmm
