Very Beautiful du'a. Jazaki Allah... you are keeping me busy ; )

What are the names of the eight gates to Jennah? I know one is for fasting. The other ones I would just be guessing.

Matter of fact, we are both keeping each other busy::: :)

1. Mohamed's prayer and peace be upon him gate (which is the repentance gate)

2. Prayer gate

3. Fasting gate (AKA Rayyan)

4. Zakat gate

5. Sadaq gate

6. Haj and Umrah gate

7. Jihad gate

8. and Selah (connection which I think is reference to maintaining kinship relations). If u refer to this same thread I recall dedicating a post to this topic of kinship relation)

I was wondering if I was going to memorize one of the longer suras, which one would be recommended?

Surat ul-Baqara- for the protection of one's home from shaytan (little too hefty of an endevor for me right now)

Surat ul-Kahf - for the shining light from juma to juma plus protection from the dajjal

Surat up-Waqiah- for protection against poverty

Any other suggestions?

Abdullah Sunabhi(R.A)narrates that Rasoolullah (s.a.w)said when the abd (believing slave of Allah)perform wudu(beginning )by rinsing( his mouth) the sins of his mouth are erased.then,as he expels the water (used for cleaning )his nose, the sins of his nose r erased..Then as he washes his face ,the sins of his face are erased until they pass from beneath his eyelids. Then as he cleanseshis arm,the sins of his arms are erased, until they pass from beneath his fingernails. Then, as he purifies his head with the stroke of his wet hands in the sins of his head are erased.,until they pass from his ears. Then as he cleanses his feet, the sins of his feet are erased until they pass from beneath his toenail onwards. Then his walking towards the masjid and salah ,is a sourse of more reward(NASAI)

3)Ibnu Umar (R.A)narraes Nabi(S.A.W)said person who performs wudu (while already )in a state of purity ,forhim ten virtues are written(Abu Davood)

Note-islamic scholars have written that this Hadith refer to the virtue of the renewal of Wudu after alapse of time.and the performance ofa perform of worship i.e salah, recitation of Quran,Tawaf, and refresh the spiritual, physical vigour for the worship.(Badhi-ul- majhud)

More opportunities and offers from the Most Gracious.

Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari (May Allah be pleased with him) related the Messenger of Allah, (p.b.u.h.), said: "Whoever observes the Ramadan fast and follows it with six days of fast in Shawwal, it is as if he has fasted Dahr (the whole year or possibly forever)." (Bukhari)

Mash a Allah, usually one after Ramadan acquires a tendency for not eating much, thus, if one takes this opportunity and makes a Niyah to observe the fasting of 6 days extra after Ramadan = fasting the whole year in reward. Some good chance for one not to miss Insh aAllah.

Two things:

1. When can we start fasting again because I know we cannot for 'Eid. I heard that 'Eid is three days long but have not seen dalleel.

2. I have a question about this part... bear with me... me no speak-a the Arabee...

"aoudh Billah Assame`a Al A`alaeem minashaytan arrajeem"

I thought The All-Knowing was al-Aleem? Why is it al A'alaeem for this part?

Jazaki Allah!
