Do you like anything American?

Quote:Remember brother, we are going to be asked on day of judgement about our time and what we spent it in, so it seems a lot of ur time is wasted on so many TV shows, and watch out, some of the shows have scenes that are not permissable for Muslims to look at.

Interesting you should say that...

Because I agree that we should spend our time wisely in this world and perhaps some shows aren't too edifying for sure...however, the showed he named aren't bad I don't think...but I haven't seen all of them.

Many TV shows are very misleading. Even "reality" shows are misleading about American life. TV shows have a tendency to take a very casual approach to sex in particular. Be mindfull that this isn't the majority view. I believe for example that a physical union is between a husband and wife only.

I love American food too. My favorite food is commonly known "Tex-Mex." It's basically a hybrid Mexican food found regionally in Texas. I've been to Mexico before and Mexican food is good, but very different from "Tex-Mex." Tex-Mex is very hard to find outside of Texas much less outside of the US.

I also would really like to try some of your regional dishes. I've never had Egypitian food and would love to find authentic UK fish and chips.

If you mean the meat used on the pizza, as long as it is not pork, then many scholars have said that it is permissable, because the majority of Americans are Christian and they are the people of the book, so their meat is permissable as long as it is not from forbidden meat like pork.

And the Christians at the time of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) weren't different than the Christians of today in believing the trinity and that Jesus was the son of God , and Allah made their meat permissable in the Quran even with these beliefs.

But if you find meat slaughtered by Muslims available then it should be priority over the other meat.

Halal is opposite of haram

Halal: permissable

Haram: Forbidden

Quote:Just a quick survey. I am interested in what you think. I previously studied marketing and want to know how American products do on a global scale, specifically with Muslims. No doubt politically that the USA isn't very popular around this board...but that doesn't mean that Muslims can't enjoy American products such as McDonalds, Cadillac, Levi Jeans, Nike, General Electric etc.

So...the question I have is, "What American products, if any, are you fond of?"

I am not fond with any american product.I only like the american people who did`nt support

the american wars.I like and respect Rachel Corrie and all the real american truth seekers.

My Husband, Although he's also Irish!

I think the only True Americans are the only people who have the least say in that country (The Indians).

Long long time ago everyone else came from somewhere else. ;)

Peace Out
