Compare Jesus and Mohammed
#1

I've come to understand that Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet of Allah just as Mohammed was a prophet of Allah.

If both are prophets ordained by Allah then they would carry the same message would they not?

Let us examine some of the differences in the message Jesus carried vs. the message Mohammed carried.

These are commonly addressed by those don't believe in the truth of Mohammed. I wanted to ask them here to get your opinions.

<b>Jesus in bold </b> and Mohammed in Red.

1) <b>Jesus lived a sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21).</b>

Allah himself refers to Muhammad as sinful (Sura 40:55, 48:1-2
).

2) <b>Held a high view of marriage and hated divorce - as God the Father does (Matthew 19:7-8).</b>

Muhammad commanded his adopted son to divorce his wife so that she would become his (Sura 33:36-38)

3) <b>Jesus told his followers to get ready, because unbelievers would flog them, arrest them, and put them on trial (Matthew 10:16-19)</b>

Muhammad told his followers to fight (militarily) hard against unbelievers.

"Kill the Mushrikun (unbelievers) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush..." Sura 9:5. Also see Sura 9:29.

4) <b>Jesus's last message to his followers about himself and his mission:</b>

Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Luke 24:46-47

Muhammad's last speech to his followers on Mt Arafat:

....."I descended by Allah with the sword in my hand, and my wealth will come from the shadow of my sword. And the one who will disagree with me will be humiliated and persecuted."

5) <b>Jesus told his disciples not to ask for money, and not to carry money with them. (Matthew 10:8-9, Luke 10:7)</b>

Muhammad instructed his followers on how to divide booty they seized from unbelievers.

6) <b>Jesus said to his followers that if anyone will not welcome you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town. (Matthew 10:14-15, 23)</b>

Muhammad ordered Muslims to attack any city that rejected Islam.

And the question of miracles mentioned on the previous thread.

The life of Jesus on earth abounded with astounding miracles. The Qur'an itself declares in Sura 5:110 that Jesus performed miracles. And the Qur'an itself admits twice that Muhammad said he could do no miracles (Suras 13:7 and Sura 17:90-94 ). Jesus made the deaf hear, the lame walk, the blind see, the dumb speak. He multiplied 5 loaves of bread to feed 5000 people, and he cured lepers and many other diseased people, and raised the dead with his word only. One woman was cured by just touching Jesus' garment. Jesus walked on water, caste out demon spirits, raised his own self from the dead, and finally rose to heaven in front of many witnesses.

Mohammed didn't do any miracles such as this (if I am wrong show me where he did do miracles). You said that the Quran is the miracle. Then why wouldn't other ancient religious writings be a miracle? The New Testament, in it's entirety which is older than the Quran isn't that a miracle too?

Mohammed faught battles, killed people, married mulitple times, took bounties and pillaged unbelievers.

Why are the very lives of the two prophets so departed from one another?

If we compare between Muhammad pbuh and Jesus pbuh <b>IN ISLAM </b> you are not going to find any difference in their message except that Muhammad pbuh was the seal of all Prophets. But if you are going to compare between Muhammad pbuh and Jesus pbuh according to the status of Jesus in the Bible, the difference would be like <b>"chalk and cheese". </b> And you might get emotion too because I can show you some verses in the Bible where Jesus was considered to be a hypocrite, lair, disrespectful to his mother etc.. So this is <b>NOT OUR JESUS</b>.

Now let us see whether the information you have brought is correct or false.

Quote:1) <b>Jesus lived a sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21).</b>
Allah himself refers to Muhammad as sinful (Sura 40:55, 48:1-2
).

Both of these great Prophets were sinless,

Firstly: your understanding of the word <b>SIN </b> as mentioned in the Qur’anic verse is totally wrong. Because there is a huge difference between the word khatee’ah, pl. khataayaa which means SINS. this is <b>impossible in the case of the Messengers </b> , however the word describing the mistakes of all Prophets was not KHATEE'AH. and i mean all of them including Muhammad pbuh. It is more correct to say mistakes, because <b>a mistake may be made unintentionally</b>, which is not the case when we use the term SIN.

Secondly: with regard to sins, <b>the Messengers, including Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), never committed any sin intentionally as an act of disobedience towards Allaah after receiving their Mission.</b>

Therefore, <b>Muhammad and Jesus peace be upon them both, were sinless.</b>

OK, i have to go out right now... will answer the rest of your points later today insh'Allah.

You are contradicting yourself. Do you, or do you not, believe that Mohammad committed sins?

How about the other prophets? For example, Surah 28:15-16 clearly states that Moses was forgiven by God when Moses committed the sin of murder. Do you believe that Moses was a sinner? Or do you believe that murder is not a sin?

Ok let's continue insh'aAllah.

Quote:2) Held a high view of marriage and hated divorce - as God the Father does (Matthew 19:7-8).
Muhammad commanded his adopted son to divorce his wife so that she would become his (Sura 33:36-38)

So did Jesus offer any solution for women who feel insecure with their husbands? God in Islam also hated divorce, it is considered to be the most <b>hateful permissible act in Islam</b>. But what would be the solution if both husband and wife could not live together anymore??? <b>What the solution in your Bible?</b>

Quote:3) Jesus told his followers to get ready, because unbelievers would flog them, arrest them, and put them on trial (Matthew 10:16-19)
Muhammad told his followers to fight (militarily) hard against unbelievers.

"Kill the Mushrikun (unbelievers) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush..." Sura 9:5. Also see Sura 9:29.

I guess we have talked about this before, the Bible also commanded the believers to fight the unbelievers in case of self defense. And since you believe that Jesus is <i>"God" </i> then you will not deny that verses of killing unbelievers of the Bible to be said by Jesus.

Therefore Jesus and Muhammad pbuh have done the same thing<b> (fighting falsehood and spreading the truth</b>)

Quote:4) Jesus's last message to his followers about himself and his mission:
Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Luke 24:46-47

Muhammad's last speech to his followers on Mt Arafat:

....."I descended by Allah with the sword in my hand, and my wealth will come from the shadow of my sword. And the one who will disagree with me will be humiliated and persecuted."

I have never red those words in the last sermon of Prophet Muhammad, or maybe an not aware. could you please show me the reference?

Anyway, if you want to read the last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad Pbuh you may visit those websites:

Last Sermon

or

Muhammad pbuh the last messenger.

Quote:5) Jesus told his disciples not to ask for money, and not to carry money with them. (Matthew 10:8-9, Luke 10:7)
Muhammad instructed his followers on how to divide booty they seized from unbelievers.

Doesn’t the Bible instruct the followers to divide the booty of war that they have seized from unbelievers?

Who instructed them? God Almighty which you believe to be “Jesus”.

Now open your Bible and read <b>Numbers 31:1- 51</b>

And you will notice the following points;

1- One thousand men from every tribe from the 12 tribes of Israel joined in the battle against the Midianites. (Numbers 31:4-5).

2- <b>A mass slaughter took place against all males (infants, children, grown men and elderly) and all non-virgin females </b> (Numbers 31:7,17-18).

3- <b>Eleazar took 50% of his men's share
</b> (Numbers 31:28-29).

4- Everyone ended up giving a sacrifice or <b>"gift to the LORD" </b> from their share. <b>So not only Eleazar took 50% of his men's share, which he gave some of it as a "gift to the LORD," but his men also had to pay a "gift" from their remaining 50% </b> (Numbers 31:52).

At least the Noble Quran mixed the needy and wayfarers with the Prophet's 20% share of the spoils of War. <b>Also, no need to mention that Prophet Muhammad was the most generous and gave most of his wealth to the poor and the needy. In many hadiths we find that Aisha may Allah be please with her informed us that many nights passed on them without anything for them to eat because they use to give all what they have to those in need.</b>

Quote:6) Jesus said to his followers that if anyone will not welcome you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town. (Matthew 10:14-15, 23)
Muhammad ordered Muslims to attack any city that rejected Islam.

Show me <b>a single verse from the Qur’an </b> that says to <b>ATTACK any city that rejected Islam</b>.

Where ??

Am waiting

I will not repeat what I’ve said in the other thread regarding miracles. I have a feeling now that you don’t read my responses to your posts with care. Which is not so good. I already told you that miracles are not the test AT ALL to prove that this person is a Prophet or not.

Quote:Mohammed didn't do any miracles such as this (if I am wrong show me where he did do miracles).

yes you are totally wrong, Muhammad did so many miracles. and i will start new thread to show you <b>some</b> Miracles which were performed by Prophet Muhamamd.

Quote:You said that the Quran is the miracle. Then why wouldn't other ancient religious writings be a miracle? The New Testament, in it's entirety which is older than the Quran isn't that a miracle too?

Why can’t you verify and study the NT and try to come up with conclusion by yourself whether it is a miracle or <b>man made book</b>?

The Qur’an can stand the test of time. Any allegation that was made against the Qur’an was refuted. The Qur’an <b>challenges you or anyone who denies or doubts the source of the Qur’an to produce a chapter like it if you are truthful.</b>

But if ye cannot –<b>And of a surely you cannot</b>. Then fear the Fire whose fuel is Men and Stones – Which is prepared for those who reject Faith.” (Al-Qur’an 2:23-24)

and please note that the smallest chapter in the Qur'an (Chapter 108) is only ten words, yet no one has ever been able to meet this challenge, then or today. Some of the disbelieving Arabs who were enemies of the Prophet Muhammad tried to meet this challenge to prove that Muhammad (PBUH) was not a true prophet, but they failed miserably.

The Qur’an itself says that <b>am open for any challenges</b>. Here I am if you can find <b>a single fault in me</b>, then I will be proved wrong.<b> But who can meet that challenge CC? Can you challenge the Creator???</b> The greatest enemy of Islam <b>ABU LAHA WAS NOT ABLE TO MEET THE CHALLENGE. WILL YOU CC???</b>

<b>"If the Mankind and the Jinns were together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another."</b>(Qur'an 17:88)

<b>ALLAHU AKBAR.</b>

Again, The Qur'an is<b>the miracle of all miracles.</b>

The Qur'an is <b>the most positive Book in the world.</b>

it is:

<b>1- A proclamation to humanity:
</b>

2- It is a fountain of Mercy and wisdom.

3- It is a warning to the heedless.

4- It is a guide to those in doubt.

5- It is a solace to the suffering.

6- And it is a hope to those in despair.

You are just such a picky guy.

When I said Muhammad did commit sins, I meant mistakes which are unintentionally and not to disobey God. You just picked one sentence of my own words to contradict me.

Interesting.

Is the following an accurate summary of what you believe?

Quote:Moses murdered a non-Muslim. But we know that Moses never committed a sin. Therefore, it is not a sin when a Muslim murders a non-Muslim.

So, then, according to Islamic Law, a Muslim can dedicated his life to murdering non-Muslim men, women, and children, and Allah does not consider the murders to be sins. Correct?

You’ve never get anything correct Reep. You’re just playing with words and trying to misquote me.

Ok, according to your own <i>'weird' </i> logic that killing <b>IN ALL CASES CONSIDERED TO BE SIN AND AN ACT OF DISOBEDIENCE TO THE CREATOR</b>. Then you have to tell me, how about those people who <b>have given the commandment that such and such should be killed? Are they considered according to you as sinners or they are absolutely sinless because they just didn’t commit the act of killing? </b>

Once you answer me I will proceed insha'Allah.

How about Christian LAW, are you not allowed to kill those who call you to worship false God? Who gives you this order?
